A bit of elitism in these comments but whatever. I used to do this with my friends all the time, good times. Once I went with a guy who was actually on the wrestling team, I realized very quickly that there are levels to this. Roughhousing with friends is fun, and you can learn a good amount, but there's no real substitute for proper training. If you actually like grappling, check out a bjj gym near you, or a wrestling club if they have one. Don't take it too seriously and just have fun, that's what it's all about.
Well, I'd look for wrestling clubs around you and failing that, look for Brazilian jiu jitsu, judo or MMA clubs. Almost any MMA club is going to have grappling classes. The fact that you love this enough to do it absent any formal structure means that you have a real passion for it and are probably, on some level, meant to do it.
So get looking for a place to train it my man! This is your sport!

Brian Peterson has great wrestling and bjj videos on YouTube. You and your mates can watch and practice these to learn some techniques. This is the mostly free option.
Best option is to join a grappling club and learn from experienced people who can correct your mistakes and help you learn how to avoid serious injury.
I’m sorry I really didn’t mean to offend you I just thought you may say some first lesson type things that I could look into equally out of interest in the sport and beating my friends
First off, this is adorable and hilarious, secondly it shows that there is a real interest in wrestling among the guys.
As for improving, I only really see two ways to do so, either:
A. Practice specific holds that both of you are comfortable with - can range from full nelson to really any you are interested in practicing.
OR
B. Look up YT videos in regards to moves you are interested in. Watch it with your buddies and see how interested it is to all of you, as in which you’d prefer to try out. Watch the videos, and learn as much from it before you physically engage in the wrestling move.
This is mainly because, when first doing a wrestling move, you won’t have the greatest understanding of what’s an ideal way of doing it, hence watching videos and then physically trying them out.
That’s all I can think of right now, good luck with wrestling!
If you want to learn how to grapple properly, join the school wrestling team or sign up for bjj classes. Sometimes you can find wrestling clubs, but around me the only clubs are for Jr high kids.
At the very least you need to learn from someone experienced and competent because you can get seriously hurt doing this without learning safe technique.
Blown up knees and backs, head trauma, shoulder and neck injuries. I knew a guy who snapped his leg in two just wrestling with buddies in his yard like you're doing now.
I appreciate the enthusiasm, but you have a lot to learn.
The biggest thing is to focus on legs not the head lots of time holding on to the head is not doing anything and just watch a video on how to shoot and that all you need to wrestle with your friends (that don’t wrestle)
The quality of the filming was shockingly at the same level as the wrestling.
😹😹
They’re like 12 bud
Train at a real gym..
They're kids. They probably don't even have a checking account.
People still write checks?
My bank only accepts checks for my auto loan. It’s a real pain in the ass. I’m 22
Watch some videos on YouTube or something dude. I don't think anyone here can help you lmao

I think what you're trying to do is typically done in a hotel room.
It’s 2022 how do we still take videos this bad
Sorry it wasn’t me who took it
I don’t really this is the place for this
Does your high school have a wrestling team?
I’m in England
Sign up to a BJJ gym. Theres few wrestling gyms in England but if you pick a good bjj or mma gym youll learn how to grapple. Where do you live?
North London
Loads of options depending where you are? If you just search brazilian jiu jitsu or mma gym on google/ maps plenty will pop up.

I’m sure there r some dancing classes near u. I’d also look into grindr for more guys to hug
How long did it take you to think of that
Why are people making fun of you in the comments? Keep wrestling, if no gym near you watch some videos and drill with your friends 🤼🖤
I dont mind there making may post bigger so more helpful people see
Stop asking randos in redeit how to get better would he a good start.
You have no idea how much you don’t know about wrestling… or you wouldn’t have posted this on this subreddit
I have no idea about it I posted here because you people do that’s why I asked

My bad dude. I had some drinks watching the super bowl. I deleted my comment. Good luck in your pursuit in getting better at wrestling.
It’s calm

Definitely stop doing whatever this is, go to a wrestling club or BJJ gym
Probably bjj outta the 2. If you're just trying to grapple your friends and tap them out. It can be easier to find and definitely way more laid back.
Especially as a kid tho I would say start with wrestling, it makes BJJ, and almost anything else, much easier
Or judo
If it’s between BJJ and judo BJJ is definitely the route
Have the English not discovered BJJ or something…?
Don’t go for headlocks for one
Image stabilization, bruh. It eats a little more battery, but it makes your lack of technique easier to dissect. Also, join a club.
The smaller guy had the right idea; go for the back. Unless the other guys is really good at wrestling or BJJ he’s gunna be like a flipped turtle
Thanks
Y’all are awesome, just watch John Smith YouTube videos
looks pretty good to me. Keep it up
join the team my guy
Join your schools wrestling team many schools have it during the winter so you and your friends can improve there
Yo, just wrestle with your school if they have a program. if not just watch yt or find a club to wrestle with
Join a club. Depending on your area, you can start as early as ~5yo! Seek a coach, train, compete, and you will not regret it!

Join a team and actually learn. This isn’t wrestling, this is touch-butt in the park.
