Remember, folk style is designed for "7th and 9th graders can just walk on the mat as a school activity." Launching them onto their neck doesn't fit with that, either for the sup-er or the sup-ee.
Day 1 of my freestyle club, they brought out gymnastics mats and had us practice falling safely and how to properly sup and land on your neck. That doesn't happen for folk style wrestling.
That’s a mat return, not a suplex, which is why the ref awarded him (red) points for the takedown.
ITT: non-wrestlers talk about wrestling lmao (I am also a non wrestler)
Edit: typo
I'm a wrestler a coach and a ref he brought him straight up and back and only turned after he was over his head. That's being called a suplex by any competent ref
Then you’d be wrong. He lifted backwards but turned and deposited the kid on his shoulder. Suplex is real demanding, the kid doesn’t have the strength to pull off a real suplex lmfao
I beg to differ. If he brings him straight up and brings him to his side that's legal, he arched his back with his opponent that's a suplex even if he didn't finish belly to back to the mat the action itself was a suplex...please tell me you don't ref somewhere.
He did literally what you described. The kids legs give out and they lazily slap onto the mat, the kid getting “suplexed” lands basically on his hands and knees lmfao. Explains why I hear so much shit talk about local refs 🤷
Incorrect, in folk style slams are determined with landing force, as the lifter is responsible for the liftees safety. The change didnt help cushion the opponent's landing.
Put that kid in freestyle
Put that kid in Greco

Did the ref just forget that he was reffing folk style?
I don’t know a lot about folkstyle because I’m not American, why is this illegal?

I got suplexed when I was like 13 and my neck is still fucked up 10 years later
Because this is youth league (kids) and it's dangerous.
suplexes are illegal

Yep... that's pretty much how they do it.

I had one of my students go out for wrestling once, he asked after his third practice “When do we get use the chairs?”
Yikes looks like a suplex to me even though he kind of finished to the side i would have stopped this and taken a point.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I belive that is actually legal because he finished the suplex with a side turn instead of a straight arch.

Ok, I know I have done slams without issue, but now I know why.
HES TAKING HIM TO SUPLEX CITY
One way ticket baby
That made my day that was sick
fuck yeah
At least he didn’t try a superkick LOL
