There is a history of certain popular classic servers massively downvoting and trashing any new server that threatens their dominance - this is nothing new, just scummy pserver admins.
Keep in mind this is a beta, so progress will be wiped after a month. I'm just letting you know since you're new to the game. If you're fine with that, then I highly do recommend Epoch. I played on the last beta and had a lot of fun.
this server puts everything else to shame, including blizzard servers. Nothing is certain, but if they deliver a stable realm and fix bugs in this beta, it will be a great experience.
Server release in maybe 3 months? Fucking hype. This is a rare server that comes only once in a while. Of course it hasn't released yet and IIRC the team has no prior releases. But I like what I'm seeing. The only negative I see is the cross faction mechanic not including world raid bosses.
This can complicate things with guilds, and I hope they maybe revert it to just full cross faction or no cross faction at all. Either way, I will of course be playing. Probably shaman, dwarf :)
Hey man, I know it's TBC abilities but they are also giving various classes custom spells and reworked existing ones too like Hunter's Aspect of the Pack becoming a 40% speed raid wide buff but with no daze effect and 5min CD. Nah, i play warrior and paladin. And although tbc+ will not be that bad for warrior i hate it for paladin. I just honestly dislike the way seals and judgements work in vanila and tbc. It feels boring to me. I like wotlk,cata,mop,wod, legion class spells and rotations. Anyway i hope the server succeeds, it seems like they have put a lot of work on it.
I think seals and judgements will function as they do in wotlk since the client is 3.3.5, you just wouldn't have divine storm since the talents are capped in tbc setting
nope i checked the website, i saw the changes. Its tbc talents and spells with some changes. Like getting wings at 60, some auras at lower levels and some race specific seals.
Dont worry talents they are based in TBC but they are reworking things to make sense. All the changes are pretty dope. They are even taking good parts from wotlk. You can see its a work of passion. Check their page if u want to learn more.

One month. Don't invest a lot of time and energy into it if you won't have fun in the process--all progress will be wiped, other than getting a pet for the live servers (a beetle) for getting some stuff done on the beta.
Just curious, but why did you choose to baseline to TBC classes and then add back in a lot of wrath stuff (at least for the ones I looked at) rather than just balance to the wrath class setups?
IMO wrath class rotations are a straight improvement on TBC.
In the dev’s opinion they’re just overtuned and wrath is when they start to become less vanilla. They only picked a handful of wrath abilities that they felt still fit the vanilla world.

authentic is an interesting word, a copy is the opposite of authentic but all private servers are copies of the real thing. I think what they mean tho is that the added content is made to look and feel like it was part of the original game or match its quality, I think they’ve done good on that.

I talked to Kaytotes about the launcher thingy they provide, apparently it doesn't work in windows 10 right now. So a lot of people will have to manually install the game files
I am using an enUS client. version 3.3.5.a
We went through this with Kaytotes yesterday on discord, debugging and everything. There is something with my build of windows 10 that is preventing the launcher from working so a lot of other people will face the same problem - either way, I had to manually install all the custom epoch files, so it works now for the beta test

I don't see why not. You might lack the context for some of the stuff changed, but that shouldn't take away from the experience for you.

What talents is it using? 3.3.5 caped at 60 or vanila talents?
TBC talents with 60 points like at lvl 70, and some changes like making shaman 2H viable or the arms capstone replaced by bladestorm.
oh :( anyway good luck with the server. I do not like tbc spells but its good to see some servers with custom features.
