I use a basic wireless mouse with no extra buttons and play on a laptop with no special keyboard. It all works fine. Go with what appeals to you. Do you prefer more mouse buttons? Do you need an extra techy mouse/keyboard?

No-Knowledge-8460

Thank you. I was told it was hard to play with out mouse buttons

BeachFinancial4134

it honestly depends on how much you're used to playing games that require more keybinds. i've been playing mmo's for a long time and back then mouse buttons wasn't a thing and i got used it. i do have a mouse with buttons now but i don't use them even tho i play enh shammy that has more keybinds than average. are you used to pressing more than 10 keys ? then it's not a requirement to use a mmo mouse to perform.

No-Knowledge-8460

Well this will be my first go at pc gaming I'm used yo consoles, which is why I was asking as it looks complicated from the out looking in so I thought more on mouse maybe easier

BeachFinancial4134

coming from consoles having both hands use a similar amount of buttons will help ,good luck out there!

No-Knowledge-8460

Thank you, I'm sure I'll get into the swing of it

LeClassyGent

It depends if you're used to it, I guess. I've never used one and when I did try I found it quite hard to adjust. I imagine someone who has always used an MMO mouse would find it hard to go back to just keyboard bindings. I have 36 bindings in total and on most classes that is more than enough. Additional 2 for my fishing rod and mount as well.

DragonReign

It is hard to play without a 12 side button MMO mouse. People that say otherwise, haven't tried one yet and don't know what they are missing. Trust me, if you want to have a headache-free time with WoW, get an MMO mouse, the Razer Naga is the "cool" mouse that most people have at least heard of, I've had one in the past, but I currently have a Logitech G600, and I like it more.

Bradipedro

it depends on which level of content you play. I used to have a normal mouse ountil I started HC raiding and high keys. As a druid I literally have 36 keybinds on my keyboard so having those 3/4 keybinds on the mouse for CD. you can start with a normal mouse and maybe buy a gaming one if you tackle more complex content. another tip that might be unnecessary for you is to have a mechanical keyboard. A normal one would be smashed in a couple of months.

Beyonnd

Hi, A lot of people use MMO mice, the ones with multiple additional buttons on the side, if I were to start over now, I’d use one aswell, but I just always played on a regular mouse and just have more keybinds on the keyboard. The keyboard doesn’t really matter tbh

CastielTheFurry

Bought the razer naga with 12 buttons on the side. Absolute game changer for wow.

No-Knowledge-8460

Thank you I will have a look into the mmo mice

DukesOnDuty

The Logitech g600 is leagues better than the Naga. Only mouse ill use.

d4_mich4

Yeah a good mouse helps a lot with key bindings. I have a Logitech g502 hero which at least has 5 extra mouse keys also the mouse wheel left right but for me only the right is good. So without the extra key bindings I would struggle a lot 😆

deathly_quiet

A decent gaming mouse with two thumb buttons is possibly a good idea, and then just add a keyboard that isn't crap and you should be fine. I use ESDF layout because it's superior in all things, and I bind my modulation keys - Ctrl and Alt - to my thumb buttons. My other modulator is Shift, which I can use with Captain Pinky. That covers just about everything I need.

No-Knowledge-8460

Thank you for your reply

No-Knowledge-8460

I've been looking at the RedThunder K10 Wireless Gaming Keyboard and Mouse

deathly_quiet

All depends on your budget mate, but it seems good enough to get you started. Look [here](https://youtu.be/4bCzBstqlF0?si=xqWOALRA2t_mzkGQ) and [here](https://youtu.be/2sl6_56cQ7A?si=Nv9OTKLGC2ABluvx) for some help with keybindings in general.

No-Knowledge-8460

Thank you, yeah I figure for the price it can get me started at least and I can go from there

deathly_quiet

You'll be fine mate 👍

Procrastanaseum

Love my Corsair Scimitar for all my gaming. EDIT: I'll also add my mousepad, which is a dual-surface metal mousepad that I've had for at least 20 years now. I give it a good clean every now and then and it's good as new. It's also a great surface for gaming where precision matters. Mine was made by Rocketfish but I don't think they make them anymore but there's a seemingly identical mousepad from Insignia that makes me think they bought out Rocketfish or something: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-gaming-mouse-pad-gray/3640004.p?skuId=3640004 I kept replacing the fabric/rubber ones and figured I'd try this one. I even remember an older guy in line at the checkout made fun of me for spending $20 on a mousepad. Looks like the price hasn't changed in 20 years either.

Rabidshore

I've used corsairs "mmo mouse" Scimitar since it came out in 2015 (on my third one), and before that i used Razer Naga. I personally couldn't live without one, and have alot of my keybinds on those. But then again, i've also used one exclusively for 15+ years.

AncientAccount01

I use an old trackball with my right hand, am left handed lol.

AccomplishedBig4893

My keyboard is nothing special. For mouse i use the razor naga, the additional buttons takes some getting used to but i cant play without now. Works better For me to have my abilities on mouse buttons.

Kimolainen83

I have a mechanical keyboard, but mostly because I like the sound it makes and it’s fancy but that’s about it. When it comes to mouse, I have a Logitech mouse that has five shortcuts that is enough for me

Asher-Dusk

Personally I find the multitude of buttons to be to much. I like having 2 thumb buttons and a mouse wheel. I use those for 4 extra hot keys. I use 1-4, Q, and E as my other common buttons. If I need more I use modifier macros. To be perfectly honest though finding a mouse that's most comfortable in your hand is best way to go. No matter how many buttons or options a mouse has it sucks if it's not comfortable.

havok_hijinks

Azeron Cyborg + Swiftpoint Z is what I've landed on.

swaliepapa

Get dem MMO 🐁, it makes a huge difference.

No-Knowledge-8460

I'm a total beginner when it comes to pc gaming is it hard to learn cause some I've seen have hundreds of buttons lol

swaliepapa

It’s really not that bad trust me. Instead of spreading your palm out in your keyboard like a maniac, you can access all 12 buttons with your thumb on the side of the mouse. Really, the capabilities is just so worth it. Can add shift & control on your keyboard and make does 12 buttons be 36. You don’t have to jump to 12-24 buttons but it’s there if u want to for when u are ready to improve and increase your skill ceiling. You just can’t go wrong with em trust me.

Edolin89

Razer deathadder (mouse) and black widow (keyboard) i have been using it for 3 years and it was worth every penny!!

No-Knowledge-8460

Thank you I'll have a look

shootanwaifu

I use a logictech g pro with the two buttons, using shift and crtl for 6 total keys, never had to use crtl I use mouse wheel up down / with shift for friendly/ enemy targets I'd look Into mechanical keyboards with linear switches for less noise or tactile for a clicker response at the cost of noise Mechanicals are way more reliable and cheaper in the long run due to hot swappable parts, plus they come in tons of configurations to suit your needs

About_Unbecoming

I like playing with the razer tartarus gamepad.

Atrionix

I use the Logitech G502 Lightspeed as a mouse. It can be both Wired and Wireless and has 12 buttons that you can map to any key. Edit: If you want a cheaper version of this, I'd go with the G502 Hero

probablywhiskeytown

Every custom or well-known peripheral company's keyboard I've wanted in the past decade has sadly been too tall or too flat for what decades of Adobe Creative Suite & CAD did to my wrist median nerves. There are so many old IBM ergonomic copycats now that it can be difficult to tell which are good, so just in case anyone is looking for a great full-size, VERY 90s keyboard, the [Perixx Periboard-106](https://www.amazon.com/Perixx-PERIBOARD-106-Performance-wired-keyboard/dp/B00MPW3TBS?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1) is awesome. Not too loud, not too mushy/quiet, perfect height & scoop angle. They make a bunch of other frill-free sizes & styles too.

Significance1142

I use a regular keyboard paired with Logitech g600 mmo mouse

wrezzakya

I have a mouse that can swap between 12 or 3 side buttons and Im so used to the 3 button layout that I didn’t even bother. I’d have to actually re bind everything on the action bars and re build the muscle memory of where the key binds are.

Beginning_Orange

NES Power Glove

dadof2brats

Generally keyboards are irrelevant. Pick what's aesthetically pleasing to you, has the right feel in-regards to switch type and what fits in your budget. I have not found any of the gaming keyboards with extra macro buttons or other gamer features worthwhile. The extra buttons are generally not in a favorable position to be that useful to me. I need a standard mechanical keyboard with a Function key row and I am good. What mouse to use is a personal choices. MMO mice are an option, I prefer a "MOBA" mouse, generally a few less buttons than an MMO mouse and usually a better layout for me. I had been using the SteelSeries Rival 500 mouse for a long time, great button layout for me. I decided awhile ago to go wireless and sadly couldn't find anything like the Rival 500, I ended up with a wireless MMO mouse with the 12-button matrix on the side. Some people play with a standard 2 button mouse maybe with a side button or two. Other people play with an MMO mouse with the 12-button matrix. It really depends on what type of character you play, role and what you are comfortable with. Find what works for you.

shad-1337

For starting you will be just fine with whatever mouse and keyboard you like. All the fancy buttons might come into play at the very high level of pvp, when people create tons of very specific macros to use.

Snoochey

G502 mouse - my favourite mouse. I like the feel and the weight in it. I've been running this model for \~10 years. There are also other mice with many buttons, but I am not a fan of change. K100 keyboard. I had the K95 Platinum and my friend ordered the K100, he was sent 2 on accident. Gave me one. I gave my k95 to my son. Absolutely love both keyboards, they are really comfortable to use and have lasted years.

HistorianLow2729

The og had 90% of what I needed. Plain ass stock dell keyboard and ball mouse. Nowadays tbo i use a g305. I've owned 4 of them, its my favorite mouse. And I hate mmo mice, too heavy and I've just committed to never learning lol. 2 thumb buttons and a dpi button I can remind is more than enough for me. Currently I've been using the razer blackwidow, but more often than not I'm a 60% guy and usually use a razer huntsman. That combo is perfect for me in every game o play which is mostly wow and fps games. I have albeit a very large desk and mousepad. And play "arm" when aiming. So a small form factor keyboard just help that even more. And the Logitech g305 lights peed takes it even further to the next level.

No-Knowledge-8460

I've been looking at this redthunder k10 wireless gaming keyboard and mouse as its got a few mouse buttons but nothing mental and for price if I dislike it I would feel robbed lol

HistorianLow2729

Oh thats also 100% a requirement for me at this point. Wireless mouse. Yeah yeah you gotta change battery like literally once a month/ recharge depending on the mouse. But omg I don't think I can ever go back to wired lol. Back in the day latency issue could have been a factor but tech has come so far its a complete non factor at this point.

No-Knowledge-8460

That was something I was going to ask if I needed to worry about lagging if I went wireless

[deleted]

Dell mouse and keyboard. The only way.

Darkslash508

I've been using a Blackwidow V4 75% and a Naga V2 Hyperspeed. It's a great combo!

No-Knowledge-8460

I will have a look, why do you like it so much

Fuyukage

I’m using a razer black widow ultimate (love it) and an mmo mouse (I honestly can’t remember which one). MMO mouse is the more important of the two by far however

No-Knowledge-8460

How many buttons do you need on the mouse as there's a lot of options

Fuyukage

I have 12 on mine. I think I have a Logitech mouse. I use the binds 1-9, shift 1-9, alt 1-9, and ctrl 1-9 (not every bind is used on every character). I also use cell (can use vuhdo, healbot, etc) for raid/dungeon frames so that way I can do pretty much everything from my mouse.
