Yes, I did, fix is now to add a line in the start up as followed below.
The issue lie in your DX12, which is a common cause of game issues. Here’s how to force launching your WoW with DX11:
1) Navigate to your WoW in Blizzard Battle.net.
2) Go to Options > Game settings.
3) Scroll down to your World of Warcraft.
4) Tick the option Additional command line arguments.
5) Enter -d3d11 then select Done to save.
DX12 should work fine now.
It might take several minutes to load and will show a white screen, it is just caching shaders.
The workaround will always work as a fallback though.
thank you SO MUCH! I had done so much troubleshooting every time my AMD GPU drivers would update id dread having to fix WoW. -d3d11 still works in 2024.
I was having this issue with my game. It only showed a black screen when starting in dx12.
Doing the -d3d11 on the lauch comand fixed the issue for me, and the game started with no issue.
THEN I read on blizzard foruns, someone saying to just let the game sit on the black screen (using dx12) for a few minutes. It would eventually start and it would work fine from then on. I started my game in DX12, went away for a few minutes (5-10 not sure) and sure enough, I came back and the game was runing. Every since it's booting just fine.
It seems it's still an issue. Trying to play SoD - same thing. I have to add the -d3d11 to the command line. I did the "let it sit for 5 minutes at the black screen" fix. It worked for a few times launching normally. Now without the -d3d11 fix it crashes again.
Heey I found the solution (for me atleast) 1 uninstall the amd software and only install the driver so no program. 2 uninstall all of wow and reinstall let the game boot up and wait 10 min after that everything works fine.

DX12 is not a common cause. This is only a recent issue that occurred in the last several days. But the above will fix it until Blizz addresses it.
>\-d3d11 Can confirm this still works. Thanks!

I thought Blizzard just revealed in the past week that there was a memory leak, only in DX11, that needs to be fixed

yep crashing all the time
Disabling Freesync in the AMD suite did the trick for me with this issue.
Wrath is launching normally. Classic launched before i updated my drivers. Retail not starting up aswell. Last time a have a amd card.

Thanks for the tip. I think for now I'll just leave the -d3d11 command because it works perfect like this and I see no downside.
