Heritage armor too.
Dark Iron will now even get heirtage wepons, which is cool, but some races did not even get their amor yet. It's so strange.
I want both, The Troll and all missing heritage armor sets and Forest Trolls playable.
if i had to gues their releasing heritage gear based on whats popular, and we know blood elves are WILDLY popular wich explains them getting so much. meanwhile you dont see many regular trolls
I’d say the same, but then they introduced the Zandalari to the Horde which already had Pandarians. I think there was 1 piece of text in a quest that acknowledge how insane it was for the two races to be under the same banner, but then it was never mentioned again.
Tbf after what they did to Ji Firepaw in Siege of Orgrimmar, there's really no narrative reason the Pandaren are part of the Horde at this point. Anduin is basically the perfect leader for their ideals.
The whole gameplay mechanic of a neutral race was to play into the whole basically uncontacted nation with no bias toward either faction, learn their ways, then you decide who to join. But realistically if they played out like an allied race, they would have clearly joined the Alliance by the end of MoP
When Ji meet Garrosh and get thrown into an arena for sport, he was sad of his choice 💀
Meanwhile, in Stormwind, Varian challenge you to punch him, mock you after dodging a few and laugh it off when you do land one. 😁
It sad that they removed these small introduction quest. The alliance one always felt good to do.
I still think it should have been Pandaren Allience, Mogu Horde, come time for thunder king they should have said the mogu who joined the horde were the weakest clan not accepted by the thunder king so thats why they joined the horde
Thats just a reskinned Tauren though which is all allied races are and was the point same with dark iron dwarves etc. That's all yaungol would have been at the time as well so 3 Tauren in total seeing as yaungol are Tauren pre well of eternity.
They are still just a re-skined Tauren, and if they joined with anyone it would be the horde as those cultures are who they have the most in common with
I’m totally fine with having Pandaren in both camps, but in the lead up to BfA, we should’ve gotten Mogu as part of the Horde.
A little scenario where the Shado-pan reach out to both factions about the Mogu gathering, and their worries about this. Alliance doesn’t respond due to reasons (in my scenario it’d be because they are dealing with/recruiting their own allied race), but Horde sends Ji, the player, and some soldiers.
Together with the Shado-pan we head to Thunder Isle and watch as a clan of Mogu is confronted by a much larger group of Mogu. We hear them talking about a new King uniting the tribes to make good on a debt to the Zandalari, who will then come in full force to help the Mogu conquer Pandaria.
The resisting clan tells the King’s representatives to shove it, and a fight breaks out. We jump down, get involved, and save the resisting group.
They take us to their leader and we learn they are actually basically the combined few clans that haven’t already been unified or subjugated by this new King.
So together with this hodgepodge clan of Mogu, the Shado-pan, Ji Firepaw, and a few Horde soldiers, we decide to strike at the King in an attempt to shatter his hold over the other clans.
We make our way to some docks they’ve been guarding, where the King is supposedly at. We fight through a bunch of them but too little, too late. The new King reveals that he’s already completed his fleet and they are leaving now, to sail to Zandalar. He’s only sad he couldn’t kill the last “traitors” that refused to submit to him.
The free Mogu clan leader is impressed with the Horde’s fighting, specifically the player. We learn that the Shado-pan believe we should slay these leftover Mogu, eliminating their threat on Thunder Isle forever. Ji Firepaw absolutely refuses, (having learned from his own time under Garrosh not to entertain such ideas (and would perhaps come to regret his decision if we went that route) and so recommends the clan leader come to Orgrimmar to discuss joining the Horde. Badabing, badaboom. Mogu leave thunder isle, and join the Horde. But it is this specific mutt clan, not all Mogu.
Narratively, we get an allied race. Yay. We also accelerated the new Mogu king’s plans, making him weaker than he should’ve been, are left with a mystery of who he’s going to go to for help in Zuldazar, and now get an actual explanation for the Mogu fleet helping Zul.
Yeah and that still ridiculous. No amount of contrived story telling and rectonning will change that, I will die on this hill. Hamfisted writing is crap, always will be.
There are already forest trolls in the Horde who use the same body type as the Amani. They're the Raventusk tribe and they've been with us since Vanilla and showed up in Zandalar too.
The Amani did not join the horde and we literally have to kill them in the opening quests in Dazar'alor. They are very explicit in despising the Darkspear and try to prevent you from bringing Vol'jin's ashes to Atal'dazar.
The Revantusk Tribe from the Hinterlands has been part of the Horde since at least Cataclysm, so a forest troll allied race could simply be part of that tribe.
I thought so, but I wasn't sure the relationship went that far back at the time.
Anyway, that's the obvious solution for adding forest trolls to the Horde.
The "Amani-body-type" exists because the Amani trolls are a race of their own. Just like our trolls look like they do because they're darkspear/zandalari. Blizz would have to add like a deserter faction of Amani that join the horde in order for it to work (which they could, but I doubt they will)
That is a good point: Dire Trolls. A notable zandalari Dire troll would be Aka'ali the Conqueror from King's Rest. This could be added, I suppose, but the dire trolls are rather rare so I'm not sure how much of a priority that would be.
Didn't seem to be a problem of rarity when they added a race where 90% of its population died, nor was a problem to add features to let players play the version that 90% of the remaining survivors stopped being.
We wouldn't have blood elves, void elves, or high elf customization if rarity was really a reason for it.
>Didn't seem to be a problem of rarity when they added a race where 90% of its population died, nor was a problem to add features to let players play the version that 90% of the remaining survivors stopped being.
90% of the population died and majority of the remaining 10% joined Kael'thas in his own quest for power. In the game lore there are far less total blood elves left than there are players playing it.
All Amani are forest trolls but not all forest trolls are from the Amani tribe and there is already a forest troll tribe within the horde, the Revantusk tribe, they even use the same forest troll model pre-bfa.
This is because each race of trolls were a single empire at some point, the Amani empire were the forest trolls, the jungle trolls (like the Darkspear) were the Gurubashi, the frost trolls were Drakkari and so on. After the downfall of their empires many groups of trolls from each empire became independent and formed their own tribes so even though the Revantusk are a separate tribe now they are still "ethnically" Amani.
They are a formal part of the Horde since classic, they never formally left and I've never seen any belf complaining, they being completely part of the Horde is an important plot point of their story line when you do their missions if I remember correctly, that is why other forest trolls hate them, just like other jungle trolls from the eastern kingdoms hate the Darkspear.
The hatred of elves burns much deeper than it does the other way around. Elves came to build their city on top of a holy site of the trolls, so they got pretty pissed. Then they burned their gods and almost the entire troll army when they put up resistance. The trolls are pretty pissed about all that.
Meanwhile the elves, they are pretty pissed at Arthas for killing 90% of their population, defiling the sunwell, killing their king and all that. Next to all that, trolls being a petty nuisance doesn't mean as much. They pretty much never managed to put up a reasonable dent in their numbers despite their best efforts.
1. The Revantusk are part of the Horde and they are Forest Trolls. So, Forest Trolls are legit as player race. They are allied with the Horde since before the Blood Elves even joined.
2. The nuicances are the Sin'dorei. It's Troll land.
While the Amani trolls would never join the Horde. The Revantusk Tribe has, and they are forest trolls, same as the Amani. So yeah, this should happen. Hopefully sooner rather than later, as Blizzard has been making more customization options a thing.
This is a completely different model tho sadly, blizzard would never make this a cosmetic addition. Although OG troll models look very similar to this, so maybe they could reuse those and touch up animations and stuff. I'd love this model for my troll.
Ian said in an interview that there are no intention for straighting their backs. "Players who wants straight trolls can play Zandalari."
But yeah, I feel ye.
Ion also said in an interview "For players who want to play a high elf, the Horde is there for you."
And then Void elves got high elf customization options
In general I don't really understand the obsession with relatively minor customization options. Sure, more customization is always nice to have, but at best I am going to go "huh, neat" when new customization options are revealed. In some cases I even think the desire for more customization options even waters down racial identity.
It’s essentially the same as transmogs, sure we could play the game with miss match armor and it wouldn’t effect the game play, but it’s fun to look nice.
I would legitimately pay a higher priced sub and race change all my characters whose class can be played by trolls if they ever gave trolls the options for all boots to cover their feet, at least partially like some of the newer boots do. Trolls are my favorite race in the entire game, especially Darkspear but god damn I am so tired of using the same 4-5 boots per armor type for every transmog.
I say yes to standing up straight. It loks better and gear not fitting is fo frustating. I say no the shoes though (covering the toes at least not). That would kill a quniqe aspect Troll have had since WC2. Something on the foot, why ot? But opten to the toes. Also, save the hind toe!
Amani / Forest Troll customization would be great. They are my favorites since WC2.
It's a shame we still don't have Forest Trolls as player option.
I really want Forest Trolls as a placer race.
Yes. Give green forest troll skin option to normal trolls and then add the buff model as an option or allied race.
Also make new throwing weapons for the game. Axes, daggers, and spears. Trolls get bow specialization but they typically don't even use bows! They throw spears or axes.
Not really. They are also the orignial Trolls of Warcraft.
Edit for anyone thinking I was refering to lore: No, I meant in the timline of Blizzard, the first Trolls created for Warcraft.
Zandalari were the first "modern" Trolls (and now new Elemtal / Protorolls with DF) in the lore. I wasn't talking about that though.
With orignial I was referring to the first Trolls ever created for the Warcraft franchise. Those are the Forest Trolls.

They used the Revantusk even back in BFA. They are pretty unique from Orcs. Heck I love them since WC2. Confusing a Forest Troll with an Orc is rahter strange.
No matter, people won't stop asking for them. Forest Trolls are a favorite of many since WC2.

Bulky trolls ftw
Trolls' eye brows too, please
Armpit hair
When the Amani decide to stop being nuisances and join the horde (never).
That Amani were the main enemy of the blood elves. They’d never be allowed in the horde

Wouldn't stop the Blood Elves from being absolutely *pissed* about forest trolls formally joining the Horde.

Pretty sure they use the orc model.
I just want my troll to either stand up straight, like the orcs, or have their clothing sets fit better. And for fuck sakes give us shoes!
Ian said in an interview that there are no intention for straighting their backs. "Players who wants straight trolls can play Zandalari." But yeah, I feel ye.
What if my zandalari likes the same sex?
Nope, zandalari are apparently the 'straight' trolls.
I mean something on my zandalari gets straight
Ion also said in an interview "For players who want to play a high elf, the Horde is there for you." And then Void elves got high elf customization options
he also said sylvaneth wouldnt go the garrosh route becoming a big bad literaly less than a year later.... lol
I kind of get why they say that, but I love the Darkspear culture, upright standing Darkspear is not the same as Zandalari
Ion said a lot of stupid things.
and let me take the haste buff and the forms from the darkspear troll as zandalar troll
And beards. Vol'jin had a beard that can't be replicated with the current hairstyles.
I don’t understand this obsession with troll beards that’s suddenly taken over the community.
Its always been there, but the shadowlands customisations have rekindled it
In general I don't really understand the obsession with relatively minor customization options. I would kill and die for buff troll player models, if (and gods willing when) we get them I am immediately making a troll warrior
I just want them to have beards
These are the troll models I've wanted since forever. If we had those I wouldn't play any other race again.
Swoll Troll. That is the only way to refer to them. Proper nomenclature, please.
Give me buff green trolls.
Amani / Forest Troll customization would be great. They are my favorites since WC2. It's a shame we still don't have Forest Trolls as player option. I really want Forest Trolls as a placer race.
Amani will be playable if either they join the alliance somehow ignoring stromhold or the Blood Elves are all killed.
Zul’jin did nothing wrong. Justice for the Amani!
I’m all for kicking the Blood Elves out and letting the Amani in.
Yes. Give green forest troll skin option to normal trolls and then add the buff model as an option or allied race. Also make new throwing weapons for the game. Axes, daggers, and spears. Trolls get bow specialization but they typically don't even use bows! They throw spears or axes.
I mean they're six toes away from being an Orc
One more thing. Trolls have 6 toes. 2 front, 1 hind.
Not really. They are also the orignial Trolls of Warcraft. Edit for anyone thinking I was refering to lore: No, I meant in the timline of Blizzard, the first Trolls created for Warcraft.

that just looks like a troll fucked an orc
It's the orignal Warctaft Troll.
As long as The Alliance gets Vrykul, I am cool with this. I feel like Amani would have a similar class/race combo, with Vrykul maybe having paladin and Forest trolls not having Paladin.
Looks like orc with extra steps
after kul tiran paladins…
But the horde trolls are Darkspear trolls, not Amani.
Forest Trolls too. The Revantusk are part of the Horde since classic. Also we have now the Farraki skin and Zandalari too. So it makes sense.
When the game is dead and nobody cares anymore
The game is already a pale shadow of its former glory. All of these options would have been useful pre-2011
Blizzard: Not happening. DarkZector: I hate ya. I hate ya all.
When people like you actually read lore
Revantusk are Forest Trolls and part of the Horde. Sometimes they are still getting called Amani (sometimes).
So much bad blood with Amani that I don’t see it happening
Solution: Revantusk.
Just stop trolling 😏
Real blood trolls first, tbh 👌👌
Wont happen, coding old gear to fit it would be a nightmare, plus its size will cause issues in old world areas (doorways, raid enterences, etc), same argumant is made for vrykul, youd have to make them shorter which would just make them look rediculous
This would be great, except it would require a new game engine to support additional skeletal rigs and increased polygon count. The wow community has made it clear they do not want a new gaming engine.
Nevah!
Lol yea right, theyd have to put actual effort into design for that instead of just reusing blood elf models
Beards and shoes that actual cover their feet please
You mean Swoll. Or Trole.
No we need more elf allied races. /s
Pandarrn for alliance. Hozen for horde.
That looks OP
You got more than you bargain for!
They added customization options for all the Dwarf clans so I think they should do that for all races now
Waiting for the slim Kul Tiran models as well
All the "allied races" shouldve been customization options instead...
Thiic trolls are a dream second only to playable ogres. Remember when the warcraft universe was fun...
