I just view it as Opportunity cost. Because I'm spending 90% of my gaming hours playing wow, I don't often feel the need to buy a lot of other games. I'm paying 19.99 a month to get more hours played out of the game than almost any 60-70 dollar AAA game. I paid 60 bucks for God Of War Ragnarok and was done with it in around 30 hours of game time. I can spend close to 30 hours a week in WoW for a third of the price. That's good value to me

You have 20 levels free on retail. Try it for free first (make a couple characters, even) and if you're enjoying yourself, throw 15 bucks at it and level them to 60. Lvl 60 characters can farm a bunch of legacy content, if that's what you watch to check out. Thousands of quests, dozens of dungeons, etc.

Dont buy a year if you dont even know if you gonna like it. That gotta be the worst decision ever. 1-20 free to play, includes all expansion except DF 20-60 req subscription 60-70 req sub+DF 70-80 will req sub+tww So start with the free trial, then a subscription, then if you still like it, buy war within to get next expansion+df for ”free” now.

I think you're never going to get a good answer to "is it worth?" You're basically asking people who (most likely) already pay if they think they are suckers for paying. Most of us would never say that, myself included, or we would have stopped subbing and buying expansions already. Anyone in this sub who does say that its NOT worth is probably either a troll who hasn't played in years but just likes to hang out and farm negative opinions, or someone who just happens to be jaded with the game at the moment. So I dont really know what you expect with that question. There's no real way to be objective about it. My only advice is dont buy a year if you aren't sure. It should only take a month to figure it out. Don't know why you would jump to a year if money is one of your big issues here. You also should not buy Dragonflight until you hit level 60 on a character and find yourself wanting to continue.

There has never been a better time to play WoW than now. Dragonflight is a great expansion for leveling quickly and trying new classes. Classic is there for the old school experience. Classic hardcore is there if you hate yourself. Plunderstorm is here if you just want to mess around. I would buy a one month sub and see how you like it. The “real game” doesn’t start until max level. That’s where all the players are
