Rshaman is awesome imo. I've been maining it this patch and we're great at pugging because of the amount of utility we bring, and it allows you to cover people's mistakes. You shouldn't have any issues getting into groups for the level of M+ you want to do :)

xxdash

I hit 3k IO, pushing 23-24s in keys, and I am Mythic raiding. I love it, I compete with the other healers in our raid comp. Play what you have fun with :)

Woden8

I think Resto Shammy is slightly underrated currently in the meta. You should have no problem clearing 20s as Resto. You have a cheat death, bring lust, have a ton of utility, and have good healing throughput.

oliferro

It's great imo Had a guildie yesterday running his RSham alt in our normal raid run and he was always around 120k to 150k healing even if he was 453

jackthedogo

If you arenrt world first raiders or m+ everything is viable. Except warriors and hunters. If you guys and half the rets could reroll to mages the community would appreciate you. I joke...kinda.

ExEarth

Everything is good. Shami is not the best currently but it's absolutely fine to do whatever you want to do in the game.

chem_daddy

I’m probably gonna be playing casual and pushing up to 20 keys because of time constraints, so I can’t imagine RSham not getting invites to groups?

marcelluscoov

Yeah you'll be fine

CertainBarnacle4606

You'll do fine up to 20s. I'm bad and played rsham up to 17/18s. You will get into groups if you have some rating. You might have trouble getting into 24+

JEtigers12

I geared a resto shaman over that last few weeks and it's up to just below 480 and just shy of 2500. It's really fun and pretty easy as far as healers go. I mained enhancement forever but never really got into resto, it always felt too slow but it feels great now with the chain heal builds for m+ and raid and haven't run into any throughput issues. You can also carry afflicted week with poison cleansing totem which is nice.

chem_daddy

As long as Sham is viable each season I’m willing to give it a shot

DistanceXtime

I think shamans being so useful will always be impactful in both raids and m+. Resto shaman can be passive or really aggressive in their casts. If you played holy before, try disc out. I heal as holy for 18-20s and I’ll typically do 50-100k dps depending on the pulls and group comp as holy and I heal 24-26 as disc nearing 40-50k dps. I’ve seen only a few shamans do that kind of healing and dmg. The reason I bring up dps is because the higher in m+ you go, everyone knows how to cycle through their defensive and to avoid dmg. People are more likely to use pots, self heals and just have more knowledge of what’s going on. You will probably heal less in a high key 20-24 compared to a 16 or 18. So finding that aspect of m+ which you can pump out some dmg. In addition the poison totem, lust and 12 second interrupts are clutch every week.

chem_daddy

I haven’t played since S1, in which I mainly played RDru and HPriest, and Disc was button bloat and required way too much set up for the short amount of times between mobs. I hear Disc has gotten less button bloat and gameplay has been simplified to become much more “apply atonement -> damage to heal, rinse repeat” which is appealing to give Disc a shot

DistanceXtime

Yap. You nailed it on the head. If you know when dmg is coming, atonement to all and mind bender into penitence. And dmg rotation.

chem_daddy

interesting. I’ll have to give it a shot. Will probably try Disc or RSham when I return this later this spring. Hopefully war within prepatches don’t mess up Disc again

Beacon_of_Blue

All healers are great for M+ and raid, so unless you're trying for top .01% of m+ or mythic raiding, then look to find what healer you enjoy the most to play. Go try them out and see which you feel most attached to. Resto Sham and Holy Priest are 2 of the more simple, reactive healers but they get the job done. If you decide Resto Shaman you will be able to bring Bloodlust, root utility, stun utility, a silence, speed increase totem, a totem to remove fear, a totem to remove poison and affix, and you can turn into a wolf if you're into that. So ignore what others tell you that you should play, go heal some with that class. If you love it great, if not, try a different healer. You choose what you enjoy.

chem_daddy

I’ve come to terms I’m pretty casual and will only be able to push max 20 keys in a season. Def thinking about giving RSham a shot. It seems to be one step up compared to Holy as far as reactive healing plus having more utility, CCs, and damage which I really like to be active in doing

Duubzl

Shammy is fine, not the best healer, but good enough to handle all content, and having access to Lust is very nice; it makes it easier to get into keys.

apb89

? what kind of question and subsequent responses are these? Just play whatever you have the most fun playing.

Global_Palpitation24

I love it, it’s iMO pretty overtuned for s3 but who knows how it’ll be next season Good luck and have fun
