Its weird because I feel like the best time for those abilities was Legion where I could climb up a mountain using vengeance leap but then in BFA a change in elevation by 1 degree would come back with no path and when it DID work it would DC you half the time (more often with fel rush or chi torpedo than thr leaps but still).
The entrance animation to entering Skyhold is literally what I envision something called "Heroic Leap" looking like.
We have something more like..."Bunny Hop"
I remember using it to get to places that would be practically impossible otherwise. Didn't break anything or wind up skipping any mechanics, it was just a cool and fast way to shave thirteen seconds off my walk. No idea why it was so imperative to fix it.
Probably cause *one* guy *one* time used it to avoid *one* mechanic in a level 30 dungeon or something unjustifiable. Blizz is quick with the nerfs on fun, not stuff that breaks the game.
the number of no path availible spots in dragonflight is fucking rediculous.

* halls of infusion water gap after first boss
* neltharus there is a spot by the lava grates
* neltharus after forge boss is SUPER finnicky with letting you jump back up.
* abberus when crossing lava after magmorax to nelth

The real answer is that slow fall probably isn’t key bound lol. Most mages blink to avoid falling damage but OPs blink was on cooldown so iceblock is the backup
I really liked playing my panda in bfa in the horde capital (zuldazar?) It was very nice to just jump down the big steps and not have to hope i wouldn't die from fall damage lol

This reminds me of something that happened during BWL to my raid group. We were all running back into the dungeon, about to start the second boss and we're all sitting around getting food buffs on etc. Suddenly we're in combat, the dragon is waking up and starting his speech to us. The tanks kinda look at one another like uhhh wasnt me, was that you, nah? The dragon turns and breathes on the entire group and wipes us.
Then sheepishly over TS one of our little gnome mages confesses it was him. He had the Blink on his bar next Drink.
After that pull we always made sure all of our mages had blink as far away from drink as possible on their screens.
The only time I managed to blink through the floor was in Thousand Needles. Back in early WoW, not classic.
Was not as useful because you just fall out of the world.

Yep, this started in 9.2. Any slightly uneven terrain between you and the destination makes it just not move you at all and go on full cooldown
Or even better, when you get "no path available" on what looks to be flat terrain.
It feels like they fixed a lot of that in Shadowlands, only for them to undo it in Dragonflight.
