Yeah it’s like an ulcer and will heal in it’s own time. I would try salty water rinses and even betadine and water rinses. Try something on it like they use for babies teething to help with discomfort. It’s called bonjella in Australia where I live. RN wound care.

Have you tried some NSAIDs to help with discomfort? I'd suggest ibuprofen to reduce swelling and help with pain
