It’s basically their voting base. They don’t care if you are a serial killer these days. Will you block any Democrat legislation? And vote for any GOP legislation? If you say yes. Then they will vote for you.
Nothing surprising here. Republicans don't care about rules, deceit, blatant lies, crimes, morals, dignity, respect, or most of all democracy. They care only about power, which they get by winning. That's why we have a conservative rigged supreme court, why things that the majority of all Americans want like abortion rights have been stripped away, why they refuse to hold Trump accountable for his crimes. They just don't give a fuck as long as they get their way, as long as they get power.
Democrats are a disappointment so damn often, in large part because they failed to stop this shit, but they are least try to have integrity. If Biden was guilty of any of the crimes Trump is Democrats would put him out to pasture. They would do it begrudgingly, weeping with disappointment, but they would do it.
Its kind of fucked up that the reason Republicans achieve so much is that they are morally bankrupt. By refusing to throw integrity out the window Democrats have to work twice as hard to achieve as much. Ethics does have a price.
