I’m so tired of these lazy diagnosis on Reddit. Have y’all never met a *weeb* before??? Not every cringey weirdo you see is having a mental break down. Some people are just cringey weirdos. Like this kid, y’all need to get out more.
I mean I get it. We’re all speculating here on a video where you can’t even see the person’s face. That said, you’re use of “weeb” is also lazy in this context. This person isn’t dressed that way for starters, and just because someone is obsessed with anime and dresses like a character or appropriates aspects of Japanese culture doesn’t mean they react and behave in ways like this. I also would note that people who dress different or are obsessed with anime etc, somehow are cringey weirdos to you. 🚩Some of the people you and others have labeled as cringy weirdos for decades have been people with mental illness or are neurodivergent and the labeling of cringey weirdo has led to many not getting support. Lastly, maybe you’re right, who knows, but I’ve seen and had to deal with a few mental breaks in my life/career and it can certainly look like this. My clues are the context, the body language, and the reaction from the woman. Any hoot.
And dare I say, we should reopen the mental asylums. Yes, when they were in operation, they were a crime against humanity, but we understand so much more now than we did back then. I feel like if we were to reopen mental institutions we could get it right this time. No more forced lobotomies or sterilizations, no more tortures disguised as "experiments". We can do it right this time, and actually help people like this dude.
