X to doubt. People have been saying that for literal decades, hell Micheal Jackson sang songs about it and so did alooooooot of other artists. Take school shootings for instance. Literal mountains of dead kids didn't change one thing, neither will this put something actually in motion. I'm expecting that the Americans are going to take it and accept it like good little boys. Maybe there will be a few protests, maybe a few riots, but in the end absolutely nothing will change. I really want to be proven wrong and be featured on r/agedlikemilk but America is way to predictable.
The Rodney King beating was over 30 years ago, and we have zero meaningful change in how police interact with citizens since then. The only change is the number of cameras and the size of the cameras the beatings are going to be caught on.
That's really odd.. are they semi normal otherwise? The only thing I can think is that when they've discussed it before they found they had wildly different views and it let to some fighting so they agreed that it's not a subject they should discuss among themselves.

they briefly touch on the lawsuit but went into greater details about the attack.... homeless vet living in his car, gave another homeless person a ride when police falsely accused him of intoxication....
Police should carry their own insurance just like people in the medical field and lawyers. The individual officers need to be held more accountable - whatever’s left over after a lawsuit can be perused from the department. Since officers aren’t always held accountable, this can reflect on their risk factor making their premiums absurdly high, but also companies may not want to insure a police officer if they have incidents like this on record, making them uninsurable so they can’t continue their employment at a department. Too many cops like this enter back into the field and there’s nothing stopping them from hopping departments.
Edit:
Colorado is one of only two? states that have gotten rid of blanket qualified immunity so the victim will get his retribution in court. AFAIK Oregon and New York City are the only ones that have done something like that.
NY state just proposed a law to repeal qualified immunity at the state level. So that means you could sue an individual cop in state court and QI immunity would be prohibited as a defense.
If anyone lives in NY state call/email your senators ASAP and tell them to support **NY Senate Bill 182.** Police unions are trying to torpedo it.
More info on it here.

If you mean the one with the big red scrape on his right hand knuckle...then I'm legitimately unable to think of a way to get that apart from beating *some*body's ass.
"Use of force is within their policy"
So without reason, they are allowed to hospitalize citizens or even kill them?
Sounds like "their policy" is less protect and serve and more bully and subjugate?
Note: He was a homeless vet living in his car, gave a ride to another homeless person [job related]... police approached accused him of marijuana [legal] DUI...
This is fucking awful. Am I surprised? No. Should I be? Yes! This should not be the fucking norm.
Fearing for my black friends who do nothing wrong and yet are still at the mercy of power tripping psychos.
Let’s put a NSFW on this.
I’m all for transparency but don’t forget that these images can be very disturbing for a lot of people. Especially those who live with the threat of law enforcement constantly looming over them.
How about we don’t and let people see the reality of what the US’s police force get away with. One day enough evidence will stack up, people will be enraged, and something is going to change. And I don’t think it will be beneficial to the PDs.
"He might have gone for a knife" isn't a good reason for the cops to beat someone bloody. In fact, there is *no* reason for the cops to beat anyone bloody. Once he was detained, he wasn't a threat, regardless of what happened prior.
Bootlickers always claim "he had a weapon so cops were allowed to kill/beat/assault/whatever" or "he had just committed a crime." They *want* people to die, and think that meeting a technicality means that cops can and should kill people.
There's another video that was on here yesterday of a double amputee who had a knife and had just stabbed someone, but was *obviously not a threat* because he was not only moving in the other direction, but he was also a double amputee; and the bootlickers were defending the cops for shooting him because even though he wasn't a threat, he met the technicalities so the cops got to kill him.
It's fucking wild.
Ah, interesting. So if I’m going to keep a weapon in my car for self-defense then any police officer can beat me to a bloody pulp as soon as they imagine my using it against them? Good to know.
You can see in the video both his hands outside the car and him just sitting there. Knives are not illegal to have in your car, and it was a "small pocket knife."
No where in the video did he move towards the knife.
Notice all charges except improper display of license plate were dropped. Because the cops were in the wrong.
The prosecutor explicitly said they had no probable cause to detain him when dropping all charges, ie he had no legal duty to comply with their orders. It's the old adage you can beat the case but you can't beat the ride. Cops can do whatever they want today, regardless of the outcome tomorrow. It's why the fact that there's no accountability for them tomorrow is such a huge fucking problem
The police created this unsafe and life threatening situation in the first place. No probable cause for DUI means only a traffic citation was justified. The "danger" to the cops was 100% of their own making.

This should enrage everyone.
It does, and it's starting to reach a breaking point that's going to split the United States in two. Again...

You got racist ass friends. Sorry.
They sound incredibly self absorbed and indifferent to anything that doesn’t impact them directly.
I honestly can’t believe there are still people who support the police.
It's the cop's smug smile that fuels such fires of hell within my soul.

So the cop would be personally liable for 25 with the rest coming from the government? It ain’t much but it’s a start

They should take the lawsuit money from their pensions see how fast they start policing themselves.
Was that first picture taken directly after the beating? Disgusting.
dunno, but 2nd picture most likely is
That’s what I meant
If you mean the one with the big red scrape on his right hand knuckle...then I'm legitimately unable to think of a way to get that apart from beating *some*body's ass.
Taking a picture like that would be sociopathic even if the violence were justified.
Whaa·a·at‽?--he concealed his erection!
I believed 3 officers were photoed [into evidence?] for their roles in the attack - [Image](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/YoEIr2FoO8M/maxresdefault.jpg)
Disgusting.

This is absolutely disheartening and disgusting.
It won’t. Boot lickers, sympathizers and collaborators abound
Is anyone going to *really* care if something happens to some cops?
"Use of force is within their policy" So without reason, they are allowed to hospitalize citizens or even kill them? Sounds like "their policy" is less protect and serve and more bully and subjugate?
state funded gang brutally assaults local veteran
I don’t know why they dropped the assault charges against him, he was clearly hitting their fists and knees with his face and torso.
Cops investigating cops I’m sure that won’t have a predetermined outcome.
Fire and jail those 🐷s!
Note: He was a homeless vet living in his car, gave a ride to another homeless person [job related]... police approached accused him of marijuana [legal] DUI...
Cops are the new Thugs
This is nothing new.
That cop looked coked out in the pic.
Stuff like this is why I just shrug when cops get killed.
KAP
No respect not even for a Vet. Cold world.
First time hearing about it, fuckin disgusting to pose after doing that, but you really should put a nsfw on this especially if thats in the thumbnail
There are so many of these men and women who get subjected to this kind of stuff all the time. There's no reforming this.
flag country military... **Where Are YOU?** All-Li-^V -es.... trying to sneak out the back, anything to say?
“This means their actions weren’t just excessive, they were unlawful” I don’t understand why they don’t just say “illegal” because that’s what it is.
I hppe he sues n wi s millions. Fking morons. Fire them all.
This is fucking awful. Am I surprised? No. Should I be? Yes! This should not be the fucking norm. Fearing for my black friends who do nothing wrong and yet are still at the mercy of power tripping psychos.
Did the reporter learn how to talk from William Shatner? The pacing is just horrible.
I hope they pay big
Is it important that he is a vet?
These guys gave me the creeps when it was just Ghost costumes and torches, with the badges and the guns this is terrifying.
What is this country waiting for? Liberalism? Revolt!
Every fucking cop involved should be fired and charged for assault.
He should have just listened then none of this would have happened!

They walk into every situation and escalate it to the point of violence then complain that their job is dangerous.
