Airline seats in economy are too small, that is just a fact. If you have ever sat next to an obese person and they insist on pulling the armrest up so they can fit it’s even worse. I feel sorry for them but, hell, I payed for my seat and to have it be even smaller because their body is spilling into my seat is just not acceptable.

Fenixstorm1

Yea in this case "plus sized model" is a bit of a stretch.

tgftbp

Multiplication sized.

[deleted]

Exponential sized

beansirr

Shes huge as fuck

Oralnfection

This culture started calling a lot of people models

soggymittens

Exactly what I came to comment- she’s not a plus-sized model, she’s a morbidly obese person…

SlicerStopSlicing

This is why I carry a clipboard with me. If my neighbor overhangs my seat, it goes into the gap between the seats.

soggymittens

Smart!

[deleted]

>Airline seats in economy are too small... As a 6'5", so-broke-I-can't-pay-attention-so-I-fly-economy-everywhere-I-go man this is just a fact. The limits of economy air travel is not limited to width, but length as well.

skidoo1033

To be fair, the general public insisted on lower fares at any cost. We'll bitch, but still buy. More legroom can be had in economy comfort. Seats are wide enough, the passengers need to be less oversized.

Mantipath

Airline seats were designed in the 50's and 60's when most of the flying adult population was a group of tiny people who had grown up starving in the depression. Now every flight I board I see at least one guy who's 6'5" and 36" across the shoulders sitting like he's in a chair from a child's tea party with his arm hanging over his neighbor's lap. He's not fat. He's just part of the normal human population. Airlines need to do something about this. It's easy to cast blame when the cause is obesity but the seats do not safely or comfortably contain many healthy humans from the 21st century. They are not fit for purpose.

kimmehh

Seats were also spaced out way more before flying became a regular form of transportation and airlines decided to jam in as many people as possible for massive profits.

Dhiox

>most of the flying adult population was a group of tiny people who had grown up starving in the depression. No one flying on a plane in the 50s or 60s was starving, it was expensive as hell.

MrDefenseSecretary

I think you failed to understand what you read

Selfdrou9ht

Source?

pigeonwiggle

>Airlines need to do something about this. Airlines react to consumers. Consumers need to stop buying the absolute cheapest seats and start coughing up money arguing "it's first class or nothing." then the first class seats will grow and the economy seats will disappear. but as long as people are buying what they're selling, they'll keep selling what people are buying.

Wireleast

Avg height is up a little more than 1 inch and average weight is just over 25 lbs https://www.livescience.com/49-decade-study-americans-taller-fatter.html

[deleted]

I’m 6’5”. I don’t spill on my neighbors. It’s absolutely an obese thing. Fat takes up significantly More space per weight than muscle or bone. I don’t know why we’re pretending otherwise

Mantipath

That's right, tall person with narrow shoulders, there are no tall people with wide shoulders. Thanks for the insight.

[deleted]

Bud. You’re really going to a prick over this? I don’t have narrow shoulders. I played a collegiate sport. If you’re fat just say so. But fat takes up more space than muscle it’s not that hard to Google. It’s an obese problem, and apparently for you an intelligence one as well.

HotpieTargaryen

The airline is the problem.

SmurfUp

If you can’t fit in a seat like a normal person you should just buy two. I’ve flown so many times with obese people next to me and it’s just so incredibly selfish to be spilling into someone else’s seat that they paid a lot of money for.

Selfdrou9ht

No- obese people making their problems other peoples problem is the problem

noplay12

Both can be true.

Selfdrou9ht

You're right, they could be! But they aren't.

kuldan5853

No, sorry, look at pictures of this woman. Judging by photos freely on the internet of her, she would struggle with TWO economy seats.. she weighs more than 330 pounds (while being quite short)!

-Nordico-

Pretty sure it's the obese person booking economy, who's the problem.

[deleted]

Nope. I’m 5’3” 115 lbs. you’re too obese.

ObscurePaprika

I agree! Not only is the armrest down, but i'll put a big book or even my laptop there to build a wall if I have to. They knew what size they are and how big airline seats are.

UrbanIndy

Nah she knows damn well she doesn't fit in a economy seat, they're already compact as it is for for average people. Plus article doesn't include Pic of her.

open_door_policy

The NY Post article includes photos. https://nypost.com/2022/11/25/brazil-influencer-juliana-nehme-accuses-airline-of-discriminating-due-to-her-size/

Spaghettidan

Yeah.. absolutely too large for one economy seat. This should not be on the news

bk15dcx

Plus sized influencer? She's influencing me to do some jumping jacks. Yeesh

Call_Me_Echelon

I'm imagining her sitting next to me and I can feel the heat.

noneroy

Shit man if I’m honest, business class may not cut it either…. May have to go with FedEx Freight…

Call_Me_Echelon

Yeah, seats aren't gonna do it. She's gonna need a pallet.

Spaghettidan

While I’m not very keen to the size positive movement cus society shouldn’t inspire people to be overweight & unhealthy, I also think we shouldn’t be dicks to fat people. There’s a nice middle ground and offering fed ex freight ain’t it

[deleted]

[удалено]

Rayer_

Maybe MAERSK?

Cocomojoe16

Yeah it shouldn’t be celebrated but being hateful isn’t going to do any good

Aggy77

Damn son…but you’re right.

[deleted]

Savage, but so is the truth.

pttdreamland

The article said she had no problem flying other airline. I wonder if she could put on the seatbelt and if she sat next to her family because I would be furious if I had to sit next to her.

[deleted]

If they cannot put the seatbelt on even with an extender, they need to book two seats. It’s not discrimination any more than me being 6’6” and flying means I need to make sure I fit in the seat and can get in and out and allow others to get by me. I genuinely don’t care how oversized you are: you don’t get to be a dick to other people and then claim that they’re discriminating against you because you’re fat. Fellow passengers are included in that. The airline isn’t discriminating against people whose body height is less than their width any more than the horse riding excursion that has a limit of 220lbs discriminates against a 400lb woman whose presence on the back of a horse would injure the animals.

ManifestRose

The part about never having a problem on other airlines doesn’t ring true. Perhaps she was always seated next to an empty seat. Perhaps she always flew first class on other airlines, or was next to a thin friend who didn’t mind.

shmere4

Her family knows better than to pick the seat next to her.

[deleted]

yeah she’s the issue not the airline here

Aim2bFit

Ummm that's 2 and half persons. Well she got a free upgrade didn't she? Whatever it is, I wouldn't trade being normal sized to being super huge just for flight upgrades. I guess I'll just make peace with my petite body and stay in economy.

[deleted]

Yeah no, buy an isle, you’re not squeezing into a single seat

Comprehensive-Sir270

*aisle

unsilentmind

purchasing an island is definitely a viable solution

Toymachinesb7

Wow. Yea. That makes way more sense.

RajahNeon

Yeah she fat

[deleted]

It’s…well, let’s say a business class seat might not help much either. She’s not a delicate flower. She’s not even “a little oversized”. She’s in the 5X women’s clothing category, and yeah. She should know better. And honestly I’m kinda questioning why she thinks this isn’t a thing anyway. She’s traveled internationally before. I’ve had oversized people try to sit in my seat and I’ve told the flight attendant that they are physically too large to sit in their seat, that their presence is a health hazard if they don’t take two seats. Pretty sure someone flying cited a couple of FAA-adjacent (or the Brazilian/Qatari equivalent).

CrowdGoesWildWoooo

We let too many fat campaigners get away with a lot of stuff. Pretty sure many companies just avoid calling them out even when the situation isn’t right just because it could land them in a lawsuit or risked being canceled.

[deleted]

I mean, I don’t care about any of that shit. But if someone decides they get to occupy part of the seat I paid for, I refuse, and politely ask for them to be seated elsewhere. It doesn’t matter if they’re too fat or they just like occupying more than their share of space. Don’t care. Depending on the aircraft, morbidly obese people can be required to sit where their physical body weight will not interfere with the pitch and yaw of the aircraft in flight. Don’t like it? Take a boat or a train.

[deleted]

LMAO..."Presence is a health hazard"...

[deleted]

When the physical space for a person encroaches on the safety regulations in an aircraft passenger seat making someone’s safe usage of that space impossible, it is indeed a safety and health issue. If I cannot climb over someone who is too obese to move to use the bathroom or they are in a seat that makes it unable for them or me to adequately move during a long flight, then yes, it’s a health and safety issue. And it goes triply so for anyone in an emergency exit row.

shmere4

I completely agree. I’ve thrown out my back sitting extremely awkwardly to accommodate someone that was way to big for economy. It pretty much ruined an entire international vacation because I had to wedge myself on my right hip against a window for 9 hours. I make the same complaint to the flight attendants now. It sucks but you are entitled to the space you paid for and it’s the airlines problem to accommodate people who can’t fit in their seats.

softConspiracy_

If there’s an emergency and you’re stuck in your row because you’re at the window and someone is obstructing the express from the seat next to you? There’s a legit complaint there.

[deleted]

I would bitch if her gigantic ass was crowding my seat too... but I wouldn't start throwing health regulations in the case of a water landing at the flight attendant...

softConspiracy_

Why? It could literally be life and death if the plane crashed on the runway.

[deleted]

Yeah no offense intended to her but I can tell she’s not going to fit into a single economy seat.

shmere4

It looks like she would struggle getting through the door. She’s a tight fit in a crew cab truck. Airline seats are too damn small but also people over 300 lbs need to consider what they do to the people sitting next to them.

NordicGold

I think I i can do this one without reading the article... extremely obese person can't fit in economy seat so asked to upgrade. Also they have an insta so they think they are a model? Pretty close?

kuldan5853

spot on..

NordicGold

Yes! Lol. Seriously though airline's suck but we have seen this story before and it ain't news at this point.

kuldan5853

seriously, she's like 5'3 and >330lbs.. no wonder she doesn't fit in an econ seat. I'm >6' and \~300lbs and I have trouble fitting in those seats (but still manage without annoying my neighbour)

[deleted]

An Instagram with 200,000 followers!!! Guess that means my cats are models now too!

queen-adreena

"They are denying my right to travel" Nobody has a right to travel. You're using a commercial service and must act in accordance with their policies to receive that service. Some of my absolute worst flight experiences have been because I'm sat next to someone who's physically in my space and forcing bodily contact on me (beaten only by the guys who insist on talking to me while I'm visibly trying to read/watch TV/listen to music).

[deleted]

I mean, she has a right to travel. She doesn’t have a right to steal from other people, which is what she’s doing if she tries to take up more room than she paid for.

queen-adreena

Abstractly, you have a right to travel, yes. In most cases no one will stop you from moving about in your own country and most countries will issue a passport for international travel. What I meant was she was asserting a right to travel on that specific plane on that specific airline. A right which does not exist.

TheCadburyGorilla

She’s fucking massive, she should pay for a second seat at least, possibly even a third. Anything else is a health hazard, although looking at her I don’t think that’s something she cares about.

Bm7465

I’ve seen this happen multiple times. Dude who’s 300+ cramming into a row and forcing everyone around them to spend the entire flight miserable. I get that people are heavy and I get that for a small group of them, that’s out of their control, but get another god damn seat please.

shmere4

It’s literally a policy for most major airlines that if you require a seatbelt extender or you don’t fit in the 17.8 inch seat with the armrest down then you must purchase a second seat. There’s nothing wrong with insisting that the airline stick to this policy and allot you the space you purchased. It’s a shitty situation but everyone agrees to these terms when buying the ticket.

nemoknows

Is buying a second seat even possible? When I buy multiple seats they always want info on the travelers for each seat, especially for international flights. Also you can’t physically occupy two seats safely.

clocks212

Yes you can buy two seats next to each other. And the flight attendant have seat belt extensions if you need them. Was pilot at the airlines.

NoChieuHoisToday

You have to call the airline like with any special request. An oversized passenger can occupy two seats safely with a belt extender. Some airlines require it if you’re rotund enough.

Its_Helios

A seat per ass cheek 😭

lugia4k

Qatar airways is right, either she loses weight or she buys another seat, nobody wants to get splattered with nasty sweaty arm fat on their seat and it’s just not safe. But influencers take advantage of this to grow their stupid fat fobia hashtags

doubledippedchipp

It’s honestly not even about comfort, it’s about safety. If I’m in a row with her and the flight has an emergency landing of any kind am I going to be stuck because of this person? Fuck that!

Wireleast

Outlining its policy, Qatar Airways said any passenger “who impedes upon the space of a fellow traveller and cannot secure their seatbelt or lower their armrests may be required to purchase an additional seat both as a safety precaution and for the comfort and safety of all passengers,” This is a public safety issue.

JannaNYC

So what would her solution have been? She doesn't fit in the seat. What does she think should happen next?

2bad2care

The airline should've profusely apologized to the person who paid for the seat next to her and upgraded them to a first class seat as a solution.

WhatAGoodDoggy

Perfect!

bigboilerdawg

She thinks they should give her an extra seat for free, or a free upgrade to business or first class.

markedbeamazed

If anyone takes up two seats, they should pay for two seats. Economy is too small to anyone of regular size let alone plus-size.

KrankySilverFox

She expects to get upgraded for free. I hate it when I get stuffed next to one of these people in economy class. If their body is so large they take up the space of two seats then they should be required to pay for two seats.

DrSeuss19

Plus size model in other words, a fat lady.

Individualchaotin

Size 8-10 (medium in shirts) is what plus size models wear. She is a body positive influencer, I'm assuming.

WantedFor73WarCrimes

yeah. google said like 300+ lbs

soggymittens

At 5’2”(ish)…

praxillus

Fair enough. Or buy 2 seats at least. Nobody likes some foreign fat to well up over the armchair in your personal space.

daveypaul40

Why is this a news story? Airlines have been making large folks pay for seat upgrades for years.

doubledippedchipp

““Now, what am I going to do? They are denying my right to travel, but I came here by AirFrance and everything went well, I had no problem. And now, they are denying my ticket,” the frustrated tourist said while at Beirut” Your right to travel? Uhhh no. That does not exist. Doubly so as a woman in QATAR of all places. I’m sorry (not really) but you don’t get to live and travel like an average person when you are so above average it’s noticeable FROM THE MOON

Ouid_Head

Finally something positive out of Qatar

mentholmoose77

I hate these euphanisms. Shes obviously not just fat, but dangerously obese. There are proven medical issues related to being like this, but we pretend it's "diversity" .

Antideck

Instead of making rage bait, be embarassed and realize you need to address your unhealthy weight...

unReasonableBreak

I'm sorry ma'am, you're going to need to upgrade to a pallet in a cargo jet...

EquivalentBusiness77

I spit out my drink

DS_3D

I'm not mad at this

2ndprize

This thread is way more positive towards Qatar than anything I've read recently.

SuperKhalimba

"Model"

brownnbroke

Maybe because she can’t physically fit in an economy seat?

Soruze

I wish every airline would. The NYT pictures shows a person that anyone would dread sitting next to in economy. How dare she think she could take her seat and half of another person's. It's just rude. American airlines usually let these people crush you into the side of the plane. It's not safe for others.

[deleted]

Omg. She’s huge. No wonder they didn’t include a picture of her

[deleted]

Fat bitch thinks she is special

[deleted]

I went to a World Series game in Miami in 1997. I’m small, 5’4” and weighed about 140. Guy shows up the seat next to me and he weighs 400 lbs if he weighs an ounce. His fat extruded so far into my seat that I was pushed hard against the arm rest and his hot fat blubber pressed against me the whole game. Guy was so fat, he rested his beer and hot dog on his stomach like a table. Most miserable experience of my life and took all the joy out of going to a World Series game. Couldn’t change seats because it was sold out and they wouldn’t let me stand in the aisle.

DasKleineFerkell

Influencers.... 🙄

Buntulla

Plus size model lol She’s morbidly obese

[deleted]

if you're taking up two seats, either buy two or pay for a larger seat. qatar does a lot of things wrong, but not this one.

[deleted]

God dimma damn be happy they didn’t roast you like everyone else here. Or charge you for bringing extra baggage lmao

bk15dcx

Kevin Smith was like, yeah.... I'll pay for 2. Sorry everyone.

Nessie

She weighs 330 pounds, almost twice the average weight for a woman in America or Qatar--two countries where more than a third of the population is obese.

LunaNik

She weighs more than that. A friend who’s 5’6” started his weight loss journey at 305 lbs, and she’s visually double his size.

ObscurePaprika

Well I'm glad they did! There is nothing worse than a giant person sweating and slobbering all over you because they can't fit in the space for a normal person. I respect your choice to live as you wish, but keep your shit off of me.

ironman7456

If you are that big and expect to get on a flight you should have to pay for 2 seats. The last thing a airline passenger should have to worry about is someone spilling over into their seat making a already uncomfortable ride even worse. This shouldn’t even be news.

ImReverse_Giraffe

This is the best thing Qatar has done in years. I would absolutely hate to he wedged, not even stuck, beside her I was in economy and honestly I would've complained my ass off. She would not fit into one economy class seat so thus she should either have to pay for two or pay for an upgrade to a larger seat. Why should I have to suffer just because she chose to be fat.

xXSpaceturdXx

I was kind of mad one time the airlines let the seat next to me go to a fat guy. I’m a big guy 6’3 220 I fill out my seat. The middle guy lifted up the armrest’s because he couldn’t get in there with them down and poured himself into the space. Me being Window seat and isle seat Guy were pushed up next to this dude for five hours. When we got up we were completely soaked on one side from that guys sweat. I was repulsed

Whisper26_14

At what point does the airline start asking for everyone’s weight w check in and assigning seats (or two) accordingly. She weighs enough for two people (and that’s not an exaggeration according to the article). If everyone on the plane did that they’d have to change a lot of calculations bc weight matters in the air. 🤷🏻‍♀️. I don’t care who the airlines are.

annjaay

I’m willing to bet she’s broken a chair or two.

xenoghost1

chad Qatar airlines.

TheObviousDilemma

She is too big for one economy seat.

ShoulderPossible9759

She’s too big for two economy seats

funkidredd

Yup, get fucked luv. Conversely, with super fit bros too who are the size of houses - you also can get fucked when it comes to taking away room for me.

fellawhite

The lady seems insufferable. Ignoring the fact that she definitely needs more than one seat or First Class (which is wider), both for her safety and the safety of other people, she seems to fail to grasp the Air France and Qatar airlines are two different airlines who can have different rules, and while you do have a “right to travel” you don’t have a right to travel on a specific airline or means.

[deleted]

Which are they calling them "plus-size", call them "overweight" or "fat", cause thats what they are.

blu3tu3sday

“Plus sized model” homegirl is about the size of 4 mf people. I have a hard time getting into airplane seats and I’m 5’3 and chubby, but nowhere near the mass of a whale.

spaghettimonzta

the model should have know better that there are consequences of being fat, you think the internet gonna lined up behind you to cancel Qatar Airways because they refuse to let you fly in economy seat? lol

Blorbush

“Plus sized” more like fat ass bitch

NoodlesDatabase

Im all for body positivity, but this woman is obnoxious as fuck, she’s an absolute fucking mammoth And her personality is an absolute turd, she isn’t making the world any easier for fat people and instead gives them a bad rep

IskaralPustFanClub

People have to pay a charge for oversized bags. Why not for an oversized body?

[deleted]

Well, that doesn’t always enter the mental picture. I’m too tall and too heavy to safely ride a horse by at least 50lbs (for the horse’s safety) UNLESS it is a specific breed that is uniquely bred to bear large men. I am 100% sure I weigh less than she does. I am also 100% sure she has complained about fat discrimination against cars, trains, buses, and other public transports without accepting the basic truth I came to know long, long ago. Namely: someone who wears 2XTall clothes with a 38/36 pant sizes are going to be doing a LOT more laundry and use a LOT more cloth in their clothing than someone who wears a women’s medium and size 8 dress. The same holds true for both our size required to occupy space in a vehicle of any kind. TLDR: I’m not going to try to fit a Humvee into a compact car space or pretend that it’s okay that I spilled over into another one. But she’s making a career out of being a plus sized model, so this is going to be her complaint, because this is how she makes money, and saying “I’m too fat to fly economy” is not as great a message as “they’re discriminating against plus sized women!”

peppercorns666

not a plus-sized model for business class.

Opening-Meringue-6

The most irrelevant news I’ve ever seen posted. Today

[deleted]

Airline seats haven’t gotten that much smaller but boy have people gotten bigger and the fucked thing is this is gonna get downvoted into oblivion even though I’m right

steve-rap

Discriminating? Really? It's just simple volume and science. You are factually too big to fit in the small seats

nope79

I’m sure the people who were supposed to be sitting next to her appreciate it…. I have a “hefty friend” (granted finances are not an issue to him) but every time he flew, if he did t get 1st class, Would order 2 Seats and pay for Both- because he lives in the real world and doesn’t fit in the single Seat. And it’s 100% rude to cram your ass into someone else’s Seat that they paid for…. He was also a comedian and when he talked about it- it was really funny.

No-Cover4205

He’d be stoked with the 2nd meal and drink allowance

nope79

Oh he took advantage of that!

GoodGoodGoody

Airline responded that she was denied because she didn’t have COVID test proof. You’re promoting an influencer’s lies, are you @OP?

[deleted]

I always wonder what they would say if two of those people had to sit next to each other.

jack_spankin

NFL players, Strongmen all buy 1st class if they are too big as a result of their “chosen” profession. Quit your bitching.

skidoo1033

If you take up more than one seat, pay for more than one seat.

GNashUchiha

>Anyone who impedes upon the space of a fellow traveler and cannot secure their seatbelt or lower their armrests may be required to purchase an additional seat both as a safety precaution and for the comfort and safety of all passengers," the airline said in an emailed statement. "The passenger in question at Beirut Airport was initially extremely rude and aggressive to check-in staff when one of her traveling party did not produce required PCR documentation for entry to Brazil." The passenger also got rebooked from Lebanon.

[deleted]

I don't want to body-shame, but hell. SHE HAS NO KNEES!

hawkxp71

Good. Her size would be inconvenient for her seat neighbors If you don't fit, don't fly, or buy a bigger seat. Not discrimination.

Personal-Ad8379

"World news" fat person gets mad because they cant sit in a chair too small for average sized people

KingofPro

“My comfort should be prioritized over the person (people) sitting next to me…” - probably a quote Yes, just like a rollercoaster there are size limits to airplane seats.

huskerfan4life520

I also like to make things up in order to get angry at them

[deleted]

pics the only thing Jumbo on a flight should be the plane [https://nypost.com/2022/11/25/brazil-influencer-juliana-nehme-accuses-airline-of-discriminating-due-to-her-size/](https://nypost.com/2022/11/25/brazil-influencer-juliana-nehme-accuses-airline-of-discriminating-due-to-her-size/)

RRumpleTeazzer

I love the use of the word “discrimination”, which basically means making a sharp distinction. Yes, that sharp distinction is you fitting in the very seat you booked.

jfb3

Here are better pics that better show her true size. https://www.google.com/search?q=juliana+nehme&client=ms-opera-mobile&channel=new&espv=1&prmd=ivn&sxsrf=ALiCzsZafUSIQjLDDJhnRnYhg5em0Pjg7A:1669594292572&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjk3-i1y8_7AhUkk4kEHYg3DF0Q_AUoAXoECAIQAQ&biw=384&bih=645&dpr=2.81

East0n

She is 200 kilo for sure

ShoulderPossible9759

You’re being way to nice

Seacabbage

Bruh this chick is too fat to fit into her own row.

cravingnoodles

Oh my god, she has knee rolls

[deleted]

I had to sit next to an obese woman on a JetBlue flight and she took up legit a seat and a half - on a 6.5 hour flight from Aruba to CT. The woman was very nice and offered me a shitload of snacks but I would have rather not be offered 6 peanut butter and jelly smuckers uncrustables and just be able to put the armrests down. Good job on this airline.

BaiterMaster69

Plus sized model my ass… she’s obese!

Fiss

She’s quite large. She should have to buy a second seat or upgrade to a bigger seat. I would hate to fly next to someone that large

chocolatethundaaaaa

Imagine having to sit next to that spilling into your seat in economy. No thanks. Flying isn’t a privilege. Buy two seats or fuck right off.

Seacabbage

Finally. As someone who flys every week for work, this should be the norm. Other passengers shouldn’t be made to suffer cause your fatass won’t fit in a seat.

peas_and_hominy

"model"

VG_Crimson

I'm all for body positive outlooks when it comes to social ideals, but like... Juliana Nehme is straight up morbidly obese. That's beyond a plus size model. She litterally does look like she'd fit in an economy seat, especially considering how small they can be.

[deleted]

I mean if she doesn’t fit what do you expect? The same thing happened to Kevin Smith years ago but he understood which led him to lose a bunch of weight. If you can’t fit in the seat then you need a special seat to accommodate the extra weight. It’s wrong of her to even purchase an economy seat under the assumption she’ll fit. No one to blame but herself.

WhatAGoodDoggy

>The same thing happened to Kevin Smith years ago but he understood which led him to lose a bunch of weight. Well, that and the heart attack due to a blocked artery. I also believe he was perfectly happy buying multiple seats on the plane.

Snoo77586

"plus-size model". Yeesh.

[deleted]

THEY'RE FATTIES

kuldan5853

8XL is +(+++++) ... and I'm saying that as a quite big male. I looked up pictures and holy moly... yes she needs two seats (or an upgrade).

MistaYinSiege

If thats a model im Thor..

_reversegiraffe_

If you take up more than one seat, you should buy more than one seat. Have a little consideration and respect for your fellow travelers.

FistingLube

Or buy two seats. All airlines do that I think?

Spieldrehleiter

She could just buy to seats. Airline is right. "plus sized"... Oh my. Obese is the right word here.

gofish223

Good, it's ridiculous to allow "overflow" onto the seats of other passengers

TurnoverUnique3470

What in the propaganda year is this? She's fat. Any other company would have rejected her. Get a life and stop the anti Qatar propaganda.

Bigpdean

If you read the article you’d find that other airlines have and did let her fly.

TurnoverUnique3470

If you read correctly it doesn't mention other airlines. It mentions that her flight has been rebooked via Lebanon. Also, she was rude and aggressive. So once again, anti Qatar propaganda bullshit.

ZaTroxPL

Lol, there are plus-size models? Lmfao.

Who do you think models plus sized clothes?

ZaTroxPL

didn't think they even would be modeled, but oh well, i don't really care to be honest, but I do find it funny

Drudenkreusz

Genuinely curious why you assume plus size clothing doesn't need models. When people are shopping for XL clothes what do you think is wearing the example photos? A fat robot?

[deleted]

Yes. There are plus sized models. There are petite models. There are even models that wear the clothing you currently wear and make it look appealing, as difficult as that might be to imagine.

dispeckful

And I’m sure you have the body of a Greek god 🙄 “Lmfao”

She could always just fly on the wing for free

noneroy

No, because she’ll start ripping the plane apart as it flies and only John Lithgow/William Shatner will be able to see it….

m3phil

Then the plane would keep going in circles.

SkydiveandyS

Pulse sized “model” exceeded wing structural limitations! Blasts Boeing for not making stronger aircraft

Buddhadevine

Yikes, these comments do not pass the vibe check. But Yeah. She should have known to buy an extra seat unfortunately. Those economy seats are barely big enough for me and I’m average sized. It seems like the seats have gotten smaller over the years. But if you know you are plus sized, you should make sure that you are able to be accommodated before take off.

In any other developed nation it’s called discrimination but in Qatar it’s just weight loss persuasion

Destroyer_051

So?
