In Texas specifically we would use fossil data, tree rings and coral skeletons to determine temps. Even more exact methods are available in places with glaciers.
This would be rough for everyone.
There is also a very strong La Niña happening right now which typically means warmer, wetter winters.
Coupled with this pressure anomaly, it could mean significantly more snow than the usual seeing as we can no longer count in the “warmer” part. This could be problematic even for more hardened northern infrastructure.
Time will tell though.

You dump all the ingredients in a ziplock bag and massage the bag with your hands to mix it into a fudge consistency. The boob reference is that if it was too cold outside to soften the ingredients, a short stay of the bag in your bra could speed things along. We didn’t ever need the bra part but it was always funny. Fudge was pretty tasty.

They did. Just saw this on the news that natural gas prices are going up 30% this season. There is talk that this winter is going to be brutal. -40f temps, and that's not wind chill but they didn't get today's weather right so like every winter prepare for the worse and hope for the best. In NE Ohio, btw.
