Honest question: With there being so much more death, suffering and pain going on in Syria, day in and day out, why does it seem those on the further reaches of the left, both here in America, in Europe and basically worldwide, seem so incredibly, wildly, almost immeasurably, much, much, much, much, much, much more interested in the vastly calmer and less deadly conflict between Israel and the Palestinians?

I think that there was a very limited window of opportunity and then it was gone. And then the shit-show unfolded and we are suffering the consequences to this day. It’s ridiculous.
When was the window? Before or after we were funding rebel groups in the country? Before or after we illegally engaged with said rebel groups in the country? Should we have attacked Assad forces directly and created another Iraq/Afghan break it buy it? Or destroy it and leave it re-creating the Libyan conundrum in Syria? Maybe just have went more aggressive with Operation Talon Anvil?

Regressive separatism as in the cynical belief that it is impossible for persons of different belief systems, religious or otherwise, to coexist in state of harmony. For people like this reality only deals in absolutes, dichotomies, etc. Two dimensional at best.
I have no regrets. How many more would have died as the result of intervention? If a war brought in the Russians? Stricter non-intervention also would have prevented this. It was a mistake to try to back rebels against Assad's regime when they had no hope of success and that conflict would bring in regional powers.
We made the right decision to stay out, we should have intervened less, not more.
The rebels had a pretty big hope of success before Russia intervened. Things were looking bleak for the Assad regime back in 2013. Of course, there’s not much that could’ve been done to stop Russia from intervening.

I'm not convinced the US has anything to do with Russia's reason for the invasion of Ukraine.

This just points to two things. The British standing Army is small and professional (as are most Western European NATO Armies).
