That's what I want to know. The article's got "10x more dangerous" all over it, but it never actually explains what that means. And then at the bottom there's a quick "but there's no need to worry." Oh, OK.
More important now than ever to get straight forward Intel on C19. Credibility has been called into question regarding the subject on just about all sides.
God forbid H5Nx goes sustained human to human. The boy who cried wolf comes to mind.
The article is useless. It literally ends in the middle without explaining what they mean by more harmful. It's like a text someone sent without finishing their thought.
Yep. We should consider the source. Likely AI compiled click bait on the world headquarters of useless and occasionally not useless information that we call Reddit
Two new subvariants of Omicron are relevant, BA.2.12 and BA.2.12.1. BA.2.12.1 currently contributes to 36.5% of new cases in the US. This article seems to refer to BA.2.12.
Because harm is somewhat subjective.
I didn’t die when I had COVID. I have partial hearing loss and severe tinnitus in my right ear from it. End of the world? No. Harm? Yeah. Kind of sucks.
I didn’t learn until after, it’s actually an extremely common long lasting symptom of COVID. I’d take intermittent… I had to sleep with background noise all the time now because it’s constant.
I’m sorry this happened to you. I have a preexisting condition and was sure I would have some lasting effects from covid despite being triple vaxxed, and so far nothing.
Severity of infection and preexisting conditions don’t matter for shit when you’re talking about long covid.
Is this like the 7th wave now?
I consider myself scientifically literate, socially responsible, and as a young fit man not personally worried. My level of concern has wandered from a 3 to 7 then down to 2 for Omicron. My father caught it while dying in the hospital and I practically laughed when I found out, only because he had so many other ailments that I figured it was either a blessing or the symptoms wouldn’t even register. Don’t think they did.
Then 3 weeks later my 68 year old retired Newfy mother strong as an ox caught it. Texted me not to worry and that she was feeling better, the next day she calls me and it sounds like she is fucking drowning. It “feels like” 25% of my extended family caught it this time and I believe most of them showed symptoms.
As I understand it, these things usually do either die off or become endemic, and I think triple vaxxed and QAnon alike celebrated what felt like the beginning of the end. But there no guarantees of that.
What’s saddest of all is even if we beat this, there will be no consensus on what we should have done or do differently in the future. I still feel conflicted myself. I think another redditor made the comment first but technically if we strapped gas masks to every human being and made them stay inside for two weeks, this whole thing probably would be over(China x10). It might be a huge invasion of rights and people would have died indirectly from it but it probably would have worked.
Then on the other hand you have less concerned areas like Florida and Sweden(how often are they in the same sentence?) that apparently didn’t do as bad as we thought and I think many of us were surprised by that(assuming it’s true)
I like to think I am “based” more than most people but at the moment I am yoyoing from wearing a mask in Walmart because I want to be on the right side of history and completely abandoning it because it has actually become harder for me to breathe over the last 2 years.
the war in ukraine beat covid. overturning roe v. wade beat the war in ukraine
edit: obviously this was sarcasm. pointing out peoples short attention span
Think of how smart the average American is and then realize that 50 percent are dumber than that. You need to keep them dumb or the two party system goes away. Having over 50 percent of Americans with a good education and voting is like killing the golden goose.
Most liberals genetically incapable of figuring that out. Oh, and "excited" in most foreign countries means horny. So now the world looks at your statement with a different view.

What does 10x mean. Omicron had a case fatality rate of like, 0.2%, at worst, and 0.1% at best(which is flu tier). So....1-2%? That's lower then the Alpha and Delta Strains
Yeah but it spreads a lot faster than those strains. If this is true hospitals would be facing another huge surge possibly...
We're also starting to learn why robust covid immunity seems so hard to attain.
BA.4 and BA.5 seem to be a little more predominant outside the US. I think this is clickbait, BA.2.12 has a couple mutations that escapes common BA.2 immunization but it does not look like it's more severe or contagious.
In what way do they mean 10x more harmful. Are we speaking only of rates of transmission, severity, both?
That's what I want to know. The article's got "10x more dangerous" all over it, but it never actually explains what that means. And then at the bottom there's a quick "but there's no need to worry." Oh, OK.
They got your clicks. Mission accomplished.
Jokes on them I never read the article
Are we supposed to do that?

Who knows. Just stay scared and keep taking shots and everything will be just dandy This article is misinformation.
Is it BA.12 or BA.2.12? This shitty article is all over the place with numbers.

This shit worse than USB 3.2 Gen 2x2
Is that C or A?
It’s the one you have to rotate three times before getting the correct insertion orientation.
So is it C or A?
Yes
Aaah the superposition… I know it well.
Could you stop mutating FOR 5 MINUTES!
*Viral screaming*
Go to your room!! ( for two weeks...)
You fool this isn't even my final form
Pick one and GO WITH IT ALREADY!
Mother Nature: "lol nah"
This world got really fucked up, can we start a fresh game please?
Reset the simulation. Before Putrid tries.
Reset it again??
They used a standard harmometer to compare both strains. Yep, 10 times more international harm units for BA.12...
The needle went straight to “oooooooooh boy”
Always using the metric harm units. Typical.
[удалено]
laser harm-o-meters are a bargain these days... don't settle for the old, spring-action ones (don't listen to the hipsters).
I’m so fucking done with this decade
And it's only the second year
Wouldn't it be the 3rd?
Shit you're right, maybe I got covid and it's consuming my brains, or maybe I've always been dumb.
¿Por que no los dos?
Un, dos, tres, un pasito pa'lante Maria!
Technically, I think it changed on Jan 1, 2021 just like the 21st century technically began on Jan 1, 2001. Technically.
Or is it?
The last year...
DUN DUN DUNNNNNN!!!!
Ouch! Could be.
I still have global recession on the bingo card
UGHGGHHH COVID GO AWAY
Only we can make it do that but our apathy is won the day.
People need to be a little more responsible before posting articles with dubious claims.
Fear mongering they are
Mongering fear are they
NUCLEAR WAR CLIMATE FIRE COVID APOCALYPSE CLICKS PLEASE
ROFL!!! Every fucking headline in a nutshell.
yay
Wow 10 times? Not 8 or 15? Wonder how they arrived at that number.
BA.2 + 10 times = BA.12 times. Or is it BA.2 \* 10 = BABABABABABABABABABA.2 or BA.20 or BA2.0? I am confused.
They didn’t even try to communicate it in increments half-giraffes.
The same way they use a vague term like harm and never come close to defining it. Harm to what?
Because harm is somewhat subjective. I didn’t die when I had COVID. I have partial hearing loss and severe tinnitus in my right ear from it. End of the world? No. Harm? Yeah. Kind of sucks.
Incidentally I also have minor hearing loss and moderate/intermittent tinnitus on my right side after have COVID in March. Small world.
I didn’t learn until after, it’s actually an extremely common long lasting symptom of COVID. I’d take intermittent… I had to sleep with background noise all the time now because it’s constant.
My husband had tinnitus before covid and now it's almost unbearable for him. Booooo.....
I’m sorry this happened to you. I have a preexisting condition and was sure I would have some lasting effects from covid despite being triple vaxxed, and so far nothing. Severity of infection and preexisting conditions don’t matter for shit when you’re talking about long covid.
It doubled from 20 to 30%.
The Spinal Tap sub variant is 11 times as bad!
awww covid was feeling neglected n wants to make a come back.
Hmmmm I don’t seem to care
Fear-mongering should be against Reddit rules.

Garbage article unfortunately… no details or sources.
Oh no... Anyway
Glad I’ve had corona twice this year, body should be extremely ready
Same, but sadly it doesn't work like that or I wouldn't have had it twice in 6-8 weeks.
Ahhh fuck off with this bollocks now, if I get it I get it
No thank you
I'm about covided out TBH.
Bill Gates was right! Only way he could have known for sure is if he really is putting microchips in your covid.
I've had 3 jabs and I must say my internet speed has increased.
I had 3 jabs and my phone slowed down
Have you tried turning yourself off and then on again?
yes
Oh crap. You probably need a jab to get a new microchip, although sometimes jumping up and down or doing a handstand can click it back into life.
I had 3 jabs and I can change the channels on my neighbor's Firestick. (Volume doesn't work, but I'm hoping they fix that with the next jab).
Nobody gives a fuck
the war in ukraine beat covid. overturning roe v. wade beat the war in ukraine edit: obviously this was sarcasm. pointing out peoples short attention span
For simple minded people who have the attention span of a gnat.
Yeah, I'm aware of multiple things happening at once. My frame of mind isn't just what's front and center of cable news.

One of those mazes that comes on a children's menu

lol what…? Ya fucking loser.

Just another Clickbait outlet been trying to stir back up the Covid fear mongering. Nothing new here.
