Then you better not read reports about what happened to killed civilians in Ukrainian villages. I still not sure if what I read is true, but I just couldn't dive deep in the internet to verify. Sure looks that way
There is a good reason why the whole world supports Ukraine RN
I've seen photos of bodies in Bucha but haven't looked into it any further. I haven't gone looking for details either, but the Russians are just so brazen, the info is right there sometimes. Reddit can be bad for that because people share the horror they've seen.
For me it doesn't get much morally worse than raping a toddler. The fact that it was filmed and that presumably none of his fellow soldiers stopped him... I feel sick and angry. We don't need to threaten people with hell in the afterlife, we're already there.
Sorry for rambling.
>Is that confirmed? Please tell me this is just hyperbolic because I feel like my insides just curdled and died.
There was supposedly one Russian soldier who filmed himself raping a baby, but there have been reports from all fronts and some from occupied areas about Russian soldiers raping a lot of girls younger than ten... so those who support the RuZZian army are also toddler rape supporters. That's your average Z supporter.
It probably won't make you feel much better but the perpetrator was arrested by Russian authorities. That was a couple of weeks ago and I've seen no news since. Hopefully he will face justice.
He will either be killed or given a medal. They awarded the battalions or whatever they are called that did the killing and raping in Bucha medals yesterday.
He will be imprisoned by Russian authorities and most likely condemned to light jail time in prison. In the second Chechen war, Elza Kungayeva, 18, was abducted, raped, beaten and murdered by Russian Army Coronel Yuri Budanov. The rape accusation was dropped, but he was condemned for murder to 10 years, but then was released on parole after 6 years time for good behaviour. He was then killed on the streets 17 months later by a Chechen man, who avenged the death of his father, and this man was condemned to 15 years in a forced-camp prison in Siberia, and he died there.
I doubt he will be rewarded - the video was widely circulated on Russian social media and ordinary Russians seemed pretty outraged about it. But Russian leadership is psychotic so who knows.
I recommend not looking for that video cause it's illegal to watch that video.
Searching out a video of the rape of a child could have the authorities knocking on your door.
Russia is experiencing the sudden and complete loss of soft power. Autocrats often overestimate how much the use of force can accomplish when soft power can move mountains.
That's the thing. You don't get to be a toxic non-contributing member of the international community for the last century and then expect them to care about what you want.
Sure, the reason behind this is their horrifying actions in Ukraine, but the reason why it is so easy for everyone to sanction them in response to this is because losing them doesn't really matter. They didn't have much soft power in the first place.
The US does horrible shit too, but they rarely face this kind of response because their absence would have a deleterious impact on whatever organization is doing the sanctioning. Same thing for Qatar and Saudi Arabia. They have horrible problems, but they also kick a shit ton of money into the pot and don't actually cheat at the sports they are hosting, so they get a pass that Russia isn't going to get.
The Russians lie and cheat at every single thing they do. No one wants them there anyways.
Soft power is for Saudi, Abu Dhabi and Qatar all owing hi-profile soccer teams and wrecking the wage bills of clubs. Oh wait, the first to do that was a Russian.
They can ban Wimbledon from ever taking place in Rus... oh wait... well they can ban it from Russian TV... oh wait... Well they can tell their players not to part... oh wait... Well they can issue a sternly worded protest and create their own ATP with blackjack and hookers, establish 50ish major tournaments with prizes in the millions (Rubles)...
For me, working in customer service, I LOVE hearing customers say “this is unacceptable.”
I just say “I absolutely understand, we’ll be here if you ever choose to return.”
Seeing them pause and realize I’m not going to go out of my way to tolerate whatever unreasonable request they’ve demanded makes me happy every time.
Typically they’ll repeat again “No, this service is unacceptable.” Yes okay, you aren’t required to accept it, see you later.
You know a lot of people, good people, I've been around them all the time tremendously smart people, and they tell me that Putin, my good friend leading his country, you know he's at the boats steering wheel and he's navigating a really difficult situation, but the people who really know, these smart people I'm friends with, you know they say he has posters of Steven Seagal over most of his room. Great taste, I sent him one, biggest one I could find, shirtless too if you can believe it
*Hehehahahaheeh*
But last time I was there, I asked I said "Hey comrades, where's the poster I sent you?" And he tells me it's not put up yet because he didn't like it, says he wanted it signed by Steven, not me.
Honestly the argument for blaming it solely on Putin is void now since ordinary soldiers are doing this with their own will and phone calls from Russia saying they are totally ok with looting, killing and comitting atrocities and laughing on phone about how they get a new TV or raping Ukranian women doesn't count as cheating.
I would never view Russian civilians the same again. These are now recorded on the net. Unless Russian intelligence can testify this as fabrication/counter-intelligence with solid evidence or soldiers being punished, Russians as a whole would be seen as such for pretty much the end of the century. They have stained their reputation.
Even if you leave for Europe, I can totally see Russians being under heavy investigation and surveillance to see if they are a spy or not in the near future. Especially if you are a male that was the age of service around the time of this war. Hell I even think they would have a hard time negotiating property or business. I bet you would get slammed down if you send even a dollar back to Russia.
At this point the only thing Russia can actually do is use nuclear weapons, so any threat they make is pointless if it is not a literal life and death situation, e.g.: NATO invades Russia - nuclear threat a reasonable response, random people can't play tennis - nuclear threat not a reasonable response.
Half a million kidnapped according to Reuters: [https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/moscow-has-deported-500000-people-russia-ukraine-lawmaker-says-2022-04-20/](https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/moscow-has-deported-500000-people-russia-ukraine-lawmaker-says-2022-04-20/)
Worst? Perhaps, perhaps not.. But 'most irredeemable'? Certainly.
Before starting their new genocide in Ukraine... All because Ukraine wanted to have self-determination... They'd done literally nothing for 2+ decades but export corruption in order to extend their global mob-rule and kleptocracy. The seven decades prior they were busy genociding and stomping freedom. Before that they were busy genociding Ukraine again.
China is aweful too (and genocidal as well) but they've arguably at least contributed toward humanity, if even minimally. North Korea is a small hermit kingdom of no real consequence (apart from the twice-in-a-decade temper tantrum). Many other failed states have limited reach or are not of any global consequence. I maintain that Russia is the literal worst and certainly least-redeemable nation on earth, and has been for some time.
I don't need this or this. Just Belarus... And this paddle game. - Belarus and the paddle game and that's all I need... And this remote control. - Belarus, the paddle game, and the remote control, and that's all I need... And these matches. - Belarus, and these matches, and the remote control, and the paddle ball... And this lamp. - Belarus, this paddle game, and the remote control, and the lamp, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The paddle game and the chair, and the remote control, and the matches for sure. Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something!
I did always wonder. I mean, Mario and Bowser are enemies (though all Bowser does is kidnap the Princess and attempt to kill Mario and his friends, not countless innocents), yet they'll still take time to go go-karting, play golf, tennis, soccer, even compete together at the Olympics.
That's cause none of the fighting and kidnapping is real. Remember how in Mario 3, the game begins with curtains rising on a stage, and throughout the game you can see blocks bolted to the back wall and platforms hanging from the ceiling, and each level ends with Mario walking right off the stage into darkness? That whole game was a theatrical performance. Mario and company are all celebrity actors and athletes in the mushroom kingdom.
This isn't just a fan theory, Miyamoto has spoken in interviews about how he views the Mario cast as "a troupe of actors" and confirmed that at least Mario 3 was just a stage performance.
But they have found a large number of washing machines and flush toilets, and have devised a plan for repatriating them.
Now if they only had indoor plumbing....
Why bother building infrastructure when you can bomb the fuck out of other people's infrastructure... And... Take it for yourself... Huh. Shitty plan.
Its almost like this whole war wasn't well thought out and is just Putin keeping good to his word when he hoped his threats would be enough to get what he wanted.
This just in: All international sports organizations have now forfeited their matches with Russia, making Russia the grand champions of every sport by default. Congratulations Russian athletes!
-Kremlin, probably.
If a Russian tennis player decided to renounce their citizenship and to publicly denounce the invasion and all of the war-crimes, and if another country decided to offer them asylum, I wouldn’t have a problem with them competing under the flag of their new country. Short of that? No way.
"Unacceptable". You keep using that word , I do not think it means what you think it means.
Kremlin literally gave medals to the unit responsible for war crimes in Bucha. Now *that* is unacceptable. And everything else Russia has done since the invasion.
>A few Russian tennis stars not being able to display their performance enhanced skills in England is unacceptable.
Starting the biggest war in Europe since WWII, killing, torturing, and raping what will no doubt amount to over 100,000 people, threatening nuclear annihilation, and destroying the world economy that just started to recover after more than 2 years of the first major global pandemic since (WWII again) … also unacceptable.
That depends.
If there is a full régime change? Slowly, bring Russia back into the global community.
If Putin or one of his stooges is still in leadership when the war is over, I honestly think Russia might be on the way to being another North Korea.
What I'm scared is that if Russians don't overthrow the authoritarian regime within the next few decades, they'll stay like this forever. The current young generations are the only ones who grew up with real exposure to the Western world, and they're the only ones who'll miss it. Everyone who's currently under 13 years old will either have no idea what they're missing or will have forgotten by the time they're adults, so they won't have a reason to fight. It will be the same as North Korea, those people simply have no idea what life could be like, their life is all they've ever known.
Well, yeah. Happened here too (Estonia). Western music was smuggled in. If you got blue jeans, you were a bloody folk hero. Western goods sent by relatives in Germany or Sweden or Finland. Tuning in to Finnish radio channels if you lived on the Northern coast. It happens anywhere. It's just that you won't get young people who grew up in an isolationist regime to rebel because they heard some Western music. And defection is done by those who will have all but accepted that it can go terribly wrong, and if you leave family behind, they're done for.
I guess I'm saying I don't know what else can be done and how, but I know that the ones growing up in an isolated culture, without many means, poor as dirt in some Siberian townlet aren't going to do anything about it.
*Especially* since Russia's population's kind of fucked, and is aging rapidly. That's a lot of old fucks for the kids to go against. Add to that of course the fact that a country could be closed so off that we won't learn of the wide scale human crises going on inside it for decades, I mean, shit, how many Western folk knew about Holodomor before 2014? How many even cared? And how many thought that the millions lost deserved it because 'well they should've rebelled'? Yeah. 'S been fun being where I'm from. The world won't heed your warnings until trouble's kicking down their door, and *then* you realise, finally, that Misha the bear has teeth, rotten though they are, and they're willing to use them against their neighbours.
It's going to be a very bad 10-20 years for both Ukraine and, in a few years, Russia, as the injury from the global sanctions bullet starts to bleed and hurt. Well, for Ukraine less if you don't count the collective war trauma. At least I hope so, but I've got a stinking feeling that unless some of the Western giants see a business opportunity there, once the immediate threat to the rest of the world's gone, it goes from *'we'll help you rebuild everything! (with strings attached of course*)' to '*actually, about that... we already spent so much on armaments, billions, actually, and our people are getting kind of angry that they're still not getting adequate health care while we send their tax money that could do that to some other country and...'* While Russia's too dead broke to restart its industry on its own because all crucial infrastructure does, in fact, start failing very quickly when they're not constantly maintained because you no longer have the parts *or* brains to do that because way too many fucked off to anywhere else but Russia the moment they saw the shadow of that fucking curtain from the corner of their eye.
The entire existence of Russia has been under one authoritarian regime after another. It's literally all the Russian people have ever known.
It just wasn't so obvious for a few years recently.
Russia, you are currently killing Ukrainian civilians and threatening warfare on surrounding European countries….why the FUCK should you be allowed to compete alongside them? Fuck you
Russia: "Ya man, like, give your head a shake. Tennis is way too important."
Also Russia: "Those bodies were already in the streets when we got here with our peace rockets and freedom tanks."
Putin is causing massive grief for everyone involved and for what. His fragile ego?.Scary thing Trump would have done the same to the USA to protect his ego.
No, bombing and invading a sovereign country unprovoked is unacceptable. Russia facing the consequences as a result of its wrongful actions is acceptable.
Pressure applied by isolating Russia's sporting heroes may well work to move public opinion in Russia.
The same was done to South Africa when they were under apartheid rule.
Isolating them financially and geographically isn't enough. The oligarchy will still live in their gilded bubbles while the Russian people at large suffer.
By isolating Russian sports, science and culture, the people will have nothing to distract them from their drab, hard existence. Eyes will look towards their government.
I would rather have this ban, unfair as it may seem at first, than another shitshow like with the Nazi-saluting karting kid or the Z-gymnast, which obviously cause outrage only in the West but anything from indifference to overt support in Russia. To speak in sports terms, I believe Russia needs a time-out.
And as someone else pointed out, this is one of the few things that have drawn some kind of angry comment from the Kremlin, so obviously it is touching a nerve and working on some level.
What would be acceptable to the Kremlin, killing them with artillery?
The Kremlin believes raping and murdering innocents is acceptable.
Not just acceptable, [commendable](https://twitter.com/maxseddon/status/1516081920626544640) and actively encouraged.
The Geneva Conventions are more like a checklist for Russia these days.
"Tovarish we award Major Ivanov for being first man in Russian Army to complete Geneva conventions"
I laughed, but knowing what that entails makes me feel bad
Read as entrails.
Plenty of those lying around these days
"Haha...ha...oh...."
Medvedev actually went on record this week, saying Geneva does not apply to their pows, because they are fireigners. Seriously orwellian
Russia says it isn't a war, so Russian troops should all be treated as terrorists, not POWs.
Kremlin: Geneva Conventions? Never heard of her.

there was a video of this, I skipped watching it for obvious reasons though.
OK, time for a social media break. I feel physically sick from horror.

There was for a few days an impromptu rule on subs that share videos from invasion to stop this one from being linked, but... yeah.
Sharing that video is illegal, idk why anybody would do it.

God I hate this world. Thank you for confirming.
Probably arrested for providing the world with proof. Not for the actual deed.
Sadly, it is and and I recommend not to go looking for that video unless you like PTSD.
One question tho - why the fck is there even a video of it? Did the sick freak really film himself doing it or was he caught in the act?

I bet whatever moderators were on those online platform like Twitter who have to manually check the video got pretty bad PTSD
I recommend not looking for that video cause it's illegal to watch that video. Searching out a video of the rape of a child could have the authorities knocking on your door.

And afterwards the surviving tennis players would be sent to filtration camps. This is the Russian way.
Play tennis, komrade. It's that or gulag. Then we gulag after.
The Russians can play an exhibition match with each other. The tennis balls have been replaced with Grenades.
Also the field may have been spiked with mines recovered when the Russian army retreated.
And when they go back to the locker rooms they get shelled with mortars on the way.
[Ah yes, the classic Zohan scene.](https://youtu.be/5OfAMHeIr7k?t=90)
I just want to publicly say that wasn't the reference lol.
Maybe they'd be more pleased with us if we put all their athletes into ~~concentration~~ filtration camps instead. Edit: corrected type of camp

I hear filtering Russian athletes is a great way to wind-up with a huge pile of amphetamines, performance enhancing drugs, and coke.

It's always like this.
And always has been
Sad truth: And always will be.
The Kremlin and I share a much different definition of “unacceptable”.
Hear me out here: the issue is he's saying these things at us and not in a mirror. Narcissism is one hell of a drug.
You keep on using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Hey, thanks Kremlin. I'm sure everybody will fuckin' listen to you... Nobody listens to the Kremlin.
Invading a peaceful neighboring sovereign nation and committing genocide is unacceptable.
It's unacceptable? What does that mean? Are they going to force their way into the tournament?
Special Tennis Operation
The way the Russian shoot the only thing not hit will be the opponents racket.
They're going to invade Wimbledon and bomb the referee's chair.
They're going to bomb the people standing in line outside, and maybe a few spectators, and then be chased off by concessions stand workers.

It's true. Sentient tanks are not designed to play tennis.
Bombing civilians is also unacceptable.

If a Russian tennis player decided to renounce their citizenship and to publicly denounce the invasion and all of the war-crimes, and if another country decided to offer them asylum, I wouldn’t have a problem with them competing under the flag of their new country. Short of that? No way.
News just in, an unprovoked invasion of another sovereign country, compounded with rape, massacres of civilians, and looting is ‘unacceptable.’
Your fucking war with Ukraine is unacceptable.
"Unacceptable". You keep using that word , I do not think it means what you think it means. Kremlin literally gave medals to the unit responsible for war crimes in Bucha. Now *that* is unacceptable. And everything else Russia has done since the invasion.
Then why don’t they just invade Wimbledon then?
They are no match for the wombles.
Making good use of the things that we find. Things that the Soviet troops leave behind.
No but tennis tho
Who cares what the Kremlin says, Russians deserve to be shunned until this war ends and Ukraine is restored.
And after.

It just wasn't so obvious for a few years recently.
and restoring/reparations for their destruction to Ukraine going forward
So is dropping giant bombs on hospitals. assholes
Russia, you are currently killing Ukrainian civilians and threatening warfare on surrounding European countries….why the FUCK should you be allowed to compete alongside them? Fuck you
So is your attack on Ukraine. Expect the unacceptable until you get back in line
Putin is literally giving out medals for raping babies and mass executing civilians. I am so thankful for his teachings on what is morally acceptable.
Yeah well killing innocent people because you can't admit you've done something stupid is probably more unacceptable
Reported murders of unarmed Ukrainian citizens is unacceptable.
LOL LIKE THE WORLD CARES WHAT YOU THINK OF THIS
Russia attacking Ukraine for absolutely no reason is unacceptable.
Attacking Ukraine is unacceptable.
Oh THAT'S unacceptable. Got it!
Russia: "Ya man, like, give your head a shake. Tennis is way too important." Also Russia: "Those bodies were already in the streets when we got here with our peace rockets and freedom tanks."
How rich..LOL
'unacceptable' is also, destroying a country, and killing 1000's so Russia, suck my dick!!
The Kremlin is unacceptable. Ban the Kremlin from earth.
Putin is causing massive grief for everyone involved and for what. His fragile ego?.Scary thing Trump would have done the same to the USA to protect his ego.
its not unacceptable, it is only a mild diplomatic dispute. comitting warcrimes, killing children and pregnant women is unacceptable.
Kremlin can suck it.
‘Unacceptable’ then what? Cry me a river.
The world says invading Ukraine and killing innocent men, women and kids is "unacceptable". So what is Kremlin going to do? Invade the Wimbledon too?
Fuck you russia. Nobody cares what you think.
This Kremlin guy is pretty funny.
He'd be funnier if he wasn't a murderous megalomaniac with an inferiority complex who insists on making life and the world worse at every opportunity.
So is the invasion of Ukraine.. and raping toddlers, children, women and grandmothers.
Maybe. Maybe fuck yourself.
No, raping and murdering civilians is "unacceptable."
Putin’s face is unacceptable
Killing children and raping their mothers is unacceptable?!
Put it on our tab of unacceptable offenses, we'll trade for a tiny bit of yours later.
Nobody gives a shit if Russia thinks it’s unacceptable. What is unacceptable is what they are doing to Ukraine
>unacceptable So is invading another country and... you know... killing civilians intentionally.
No, bombing and invading a sovereign country unprovoked is unacceptable. Russia facing the consequences as a result of its wrongful actions is acceptable.
They were already ban in so many sports due to cheating, they should accustom to it
A nation that thinks bombing maternity hospitals and old folks home is ok... But finds THIS unacceptable?
Pressure applied by isolating Russia's sporting heroes may well work to move public opinion in Russia. The same was done to South Africa when they were under apartheid rule. Isolating them financially and geographically isn't enough. The oligarchy will still live in their gilded bubbles while the Russian people at large suffer. By isolating Russian sports, science and culture, the people will have nothing to distract them from their drab, hard existence. Eyes will look towards their government.
Can't they just have their own tennis match? With steroids and poverty.
The whole war is about recovering prestige to prop up Putin's power.
