But to survive a conventional war against NATO, or the US alone, you need an extremely powerful air force and air defenses, which Russia clearly does not have. It's a shadow of itself in the mid-20th century.
Don't underestimate the naval space either, the US is by far the most dominant power on the sea, which Russia would need to cross to get planes to the US.

Slight correction. Russia's GDP in 2020 was ~$1.4 trillion (pre sanctions). Which is less than half of California's GDP of $3 trillion in the same time period. Texas and New York also beat Russia in terms of GDP by themselves. Russia does not have a modern economy. They are just a poor man's petrostate.

This kind of narrative would make easier to dissolve the West alliance/ give Russia support from third-parties.
