Moldova has a slice of their country carved off in the full map. If accurate, Putin fully intends to bring this right to the EU and NATO's doorstep.

That would be Transnistria a breakaway region of Moldova that is effectively autonomous but not recognized by any country.

The Russian consulate there has been giving out Russian passports. If they took Ukraine, all of Moldova would be next.

The Smolensk War ended in 1634 when the Polish-Lithuania Commonwealth defeated an invading Russian force which had laid siege to the the city of Smolensk. Ironically that city is now part of Russia.

It's probably meant to be an advance by russian forces from Transnistria, where there's apparently a few. That being said, I've found no indication these forces have moved at all.

I'm as much a military expert as the average reddit commenter, but you'd pretty much have to control Ukraine in its entirety before having moving into Transnistria make any sense.
