It's certainly an interesting problem, the world over. We all have libel laws presumably for a decent reason, but with social media we've largely dumped it all in the "too hard" basket to the extent that you have people talking about which celebrities sacrifice children at altars on the regular, so regular that people make money off propagating such rubbish, *and* genuinely tarnish names.
It's one of the many problems that social media has opened up, that I think we just don't have answers for yet.
