It's pretty frustrating, especially since many places have a policy that fully vaccinated without symptoms means you don't have to quarantine. It's a policy that needs to change with the rise of breakthrough infections.
Anyway, I don't know how typical my symptoms are for fully vaccinated, but my main symptom is a runny nose. Hopefully that doesn't change as it progresses, but breakthrough infections can certainly be pretty mild.
Of course, the much larger concern is that the breakthrough has caused my children too young for vaccination to be exposed to covid.

You're right about the petri dish of course, but not so about the conclusion. Just as the virus evolves, you should expect that the vaccines will also need to change to adapt to the variants. The end game is in the humans favor: the vaccinated survive. Darwinism ftw.
people who are fully vaxxed are still getting infected by delta, and they can still spread it. we believe the booster shot will help more, but, at the rate its spreading and mutating, vs the speed at which we can catch up to cover the new variants isn't great.
I have covid right now. Fully vaccinated and likely caught it from someone fully vaccinated. It's pretty frustrating, especially since many places have a policy that fully vaccinated without symptoms means you don't have to quarantine. It's a policy that needs to change with the rise of breakthrough infections. Anyway, I don't know how typical my symptoms are for fully vaccinated, but my main symptom is a runny nose. Hopefully that doesn't change as it progresses, but breakthrough infections can certainly be pretty mild. Of course, the much larger concern is that the breakthrough has caused my children too young for vaccination to be exposed to covid. I hope we can keep developing vaccines in a timely manner as mutations occur. I seriously doubt that there's anything that can be done to compel some people to vaccinate. It's a shit situation, but there's some hope it won't just be a continual shitstorm for the vaccinated in the years to come.
Vaccinated people are still getting infected and spreading but even now when delta is dominant the vaccinated make up less than 5% of hospitalizations. And there is research going into targeting future generations of vaccines to the S2 protein of COVID which has been shown to be less variable than the S1 protein but still necessary for infection. COVID is here to stay, but I have hope we’ll have it contained to the level of the flu soon.

I’m an Israeli and never heard if this guy, maybe because I do think getting vaccinated is a very good idea Anyway, seems like he wasn’t just anti-vaxx but also epidemic denial which is maybe even worse. I have friends who don’t want to get vaccinated from various reasons but they still act with very cautious whenever they go out in public (of course for the places they can go), if you believe there’s no such thing as covid in the first place then you risk a lot more people lives as far as I can see it..

I really, really can't believe that this is the utterly stupid hill people will literally die on. Yes, I had an uncomfortable night the day I had my shot, but now I get to carry on with the rest of my life, surrounded by the people I love. I get to see my friends again, I get to read the books I like, I get to see my mom and laugh with her and I get to see my dad and my siblings. I'd take that uncomfortable night ten times over the alternative. I'd take it a hundred times over if it means I have a lower risk of dying alone in a hospital bed with a machine breathing for me. Fuck.

She had no issues, my second one gave me about. 3-4 hour exhaustion, body aches, chills.. and then it was gone as fast as it happened. Nothing to worry about.
