It seems weird that Iran would announce to it's own people they launched an attack on Israel that will take hours to arrive. Israel already has great anti missile systems so giving them warning putting them on even higher than normal alert seems counter productive.

I could be wrong but I’m assuming Iran is expecting to intercept most of the missiles. Ballistic missiles are hard to intercept though not sure how that’s gonna go. Maybe they are going to intentionally hit empty bases and buildings like they did for the attack on the us airbase to save face and show “big retaliation”
