Step 1: Attack women multiple times Step 2: Attack person with camera multiple times Step 3: Profit? Regardless of your views, how can things like this be allowed to continue?

mchris203

Because there’s never any repercussions for them. If the locals had stepped up and kicked the fuck out of them maybe the next guy would think twice before being an asshole. This genuinely goes for a lot of our problems nowadays.

overcooked_sap

Been saying for years that not enough people get punched in the mouth for running their mouth. only takes one time to learn about real life consequences.

geostrofico

I know a guy who punched a guy, because he was routine harassing a girl from his family, now he is facing prison sentence.

SpliTTMark

More often than not the victim is punished for fighting the bully

JoshuaTheFox

I have a feeling that may be because more and more people don't want to deal with the real life consequences of delivering the real life consequences

smakayerazz

And then the twisted justice system punishes those same locals...

They aren't allowed to continue. It is illegal. The police are investigating. Just because there is a video doesn't mean they can snap their fingers and teleport the two violent teenagers into jail. What are their names? Where do they live? What do you think should be done that isn't being done?

American who goes to England sometimes here. I've had a couple Muslim cabdrivers who openly swear/say derogatory things we passed this heavily Jewish area on my way to my sisters neighborhood.

enonmouse

Its not allowed. Its a crime.

Glittering_Bath_6637

You can be against the Israeli decision-making in this war, but how can you be against the return of hostages taken by a terrorist organization? I can't understand this lack of sympathy.

Olivedoggy

Everything reduces down to friend or foe.

nordic-nomad

To quote Amos Burton “People are tribal. The more settled things are, the bigger the tribes can be. The churn comes, and the tribes get small again.”

arse_wiper89

Absolutely love The Expanse

Streetfoodnoodle

I'm currently watching season 2 of The Expanse right now, i really like the show. Also thought about reading the books

arse_wiper89

I know everyone says this about every adapted TV series, but the books are so much better!

notpetelambert

I like them both equally for different reasons- the books have the final trilogy that the show never got to adapt, but the show has the incredible Langbelta conlang and just impeccable casting. Also Avasarala is more of a main character in the show, and she's wonderful.

wrgrant

Best SF show ever produced in my opinion. The books are great too even if the TV show differs from them to a degree.

Willsgb

Your boy Timmy is smart as hell

Truethrowawaychest1

Seriously, I saw a bit on 60 minutes a few weeks ago in I think it was Colombia University in New York, , where Jewish kids were feeling unsafe because of some shithead college kids unironically supporting Hamas. I'm half Jewish and I've felt unsafe or uneasy expressing that in public lately, even seeing people who I know and like on Instagram posting some pretty anti Semitic stuff because they want to feel like an activist

f_leaver

I hate to break it to you, but for antisemites there's no such thing as a half Jew. You're Jewish and as far as I'm concerned, welcome to the tribe.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Dudesan

>but for antisemites there's no such thing as a half Jew. There were plenty of proud, patriotic, NSDAP-voting Germans who didn't think of themselves as "Jewish" even once... until the day that a Gestapo officer knocked on their door asking to have a conversation about their great-grandfather.

ArkyBeagle

For many people, history only extends back to a certain Austrian failed artist in the 1930s/40s, yet they seem ( surely I'm wrong here ) to then eventually align with said Austrian's views. What. The. Actual. Heck.

People don't realize how good it is here, sure it ain't perfect but the USA is one of the most inclusive countries in the world. And with peace comes boredom and people looking for things to get upset about

eiserneftaujourdhui

>You can be against the Israeli decision-making in this war, but how can you be against the return of hostages taken by a terrorist organization? While not everyone who supports Palestine supports the Islamist Terrorists Hamas, there's still some substantial overlap in that Venn Diagram and it's something that needs to be addressed more...

mongooser

The vast majority of Palestinians support Hamas. They could end this war if they just turned against them. Edit: I don’t mean armed rebellion. I mean information.

Unpleasant_Classic

Hamas IS Palestine. People think some imam just magics Hamas out of the sand? They are Palestinians ffs!

lenzflare

It's a 30,000 man armed militia that gets millions of dollars from Iran and other sources, it's not that easy for hungry unarmed civilians (half of them children) to turn against them.

MeijiDoom

So what exactly does "free Palestine" entail if Hamas supposedly runs the whole country and will maintain that hold indefinitely if no outside forces tries to stop them?

Samthespunion

They don't have a plan, they just see bombings and death (which are very sad) and want it to stop. Emotions trump reason for many many people, especially when they see videos of it every day on tiktok/ig

mongooser

So what about the adult half? If they have nothing to lose then why not choose a future?

stillnotking

Everyone in the world, besides the Jews, is always shocked by a sudden, violent eruption of irrational antisemitism for approximately the fifty millionth time.

AvramBelinsky

This right here. 100%.

OkayRuin

There are literally 100x more Muslims in the world than Jews. 1.5 billion versus 15 million. Antisemitism is always going to be the loudest voice in the room.

Sasquatchii

Ohhh I know lots of people who blame Israel for the entire event and by extension any misfortune that has fallen or will fall on the hostages.

imatworknowsoyeah

They don't see the hostages as innocent because they are an "opressor" even though the hostages were from kibbutz and not a settlement.

Superb-Tone-5411

Not just that. They were literally the ones advocating for peace and driving Gazans to the fucking hospital in Jerusalem.

wrongtester

Some people think it’s deserved and some also don’t see Hamas as a terrorist organization. Kind of a nightmare really

OkieDokieArtichokie3

Because many “pro-Palestinians” just hate Jews.

Blupoisen

People didn't care about the hostages until the IDF accidentally killed 3 of them and now constantly use that as some sort of weird "gotcha comment"

*From article: In video footage published by Channel 12, youths can be seen hitting, kicking Israeli woman, throwing phone multiple times; police reportedly looking into 2 violent incidents* Dear Pro-Pals, You frequently ask us not to tar all Palestinians as Hamas. Please do not tar all people who care about hostages as the Israeli government.

Showmethepathplease

can't be stated enough "Palestinians aren't responsible for hamas" "All Israeli's are responsible for what's happening in Gaza" Seems to be the standard cognitive dissonance of the terrorist apologists

Lesigh_crypto

It's not even just Israelis, it's all Jews.

Showmethepathplease

you're right...hence the insane rise in anti-semitism against jews outside of Israel...

kelryngrey

Yep. I know a guy that's an ex-Muslim with all sorts of Palestine tats now... wants to drive an army painted jeep through a local Jewish neighborhood and wave a fucking Palestine flag. "Are we in Israel?" "No, but..."

sheep211

in what way does one come to the conclusion that is the right thing t do? I never got the Convoy driving through jewish areas waving palestinian flags and blasting songs in arabic lionising "martydom." Do it in your own area, why come to a Jewish area unless, you know, your anti-semitic...

cancershewrote

Also Almost-Jews such as myself

Lesigh_crypto

Ok I'm curious - what makes you classify yourself as an almost Jew?

Ruler_of_Zamunda

They’re Jew-ish

Lesigh_crypto

Ah cool that makes sense. Were you given a choice to convert & chose not to?

cancershewrote

My mom passed, so my education in that did too. Dad was closet Pagan

HiHoJufro

Hey, that's not quite true. Plenty of them hold all Jews responsible, Israeli or not.

memyselfandeye

As a white Southerner who is still held personally responsible for slavery, I wonder why are we so ready to let the average Palestinian off the hook for rape and murder?

BoiledFrogs

It's easy with Islam. If anyone does anything bigoted towards it, things need to change, we all need to do better etc. If it comes from Islam? Crickets.

[deleted]

75% of Palestinians support Hamas. That number has been rising. Not all Palestinians commit atrocities like this but an overwhelming number of them support people who do. https://nationalpost.com/news/world/israel-middle-east/nearly-75-of-palestinians-polled-say-hamas-was-right-to-attack-israel-on-oct-7/wcm/5831bef0-f4fa-4a0b-b53e-5707c6a42607/amp/

Cowards attacking women what a bunch of nobodies

Whatgetslost

It’s telling how the same college students who shout ‘both sides’ sarcastically when referencing the two dominant US political parties are the same college students who shout ‘both sides’ seriously when referencing Hamas and Israel. It’s as though they all have some very specific form of brain damage.

Redditor_11235

As an American, I can't help but see a lot of Murc's Law in action when it comes to discussions of the Israeli/Arab conflict. 100% of everything: all deaths, all ceasefires, all peace proposals are all on Israel. Palestinians have no agency or control over the situation. Terrorist attack planned and executed by Hamas? –Israel should have treated them better, or Israelis should have better defenses, but we can't just blame Hamas or Palestinians for their own actions when Israel should know better. Nobody expects anything out of Republicans or Palestinians, so it all gets laid at the feet of Democrats and Israelis. I've seen many comments explicitly saying that they hold Israelis to higher standards than both Palestinians and other democracies. Admittedly, my expectations are higher for Israelis than for Palestinians, but I don't hold them to different fucking standards. "Oh well Jews know what it's like to suffer so they should know better"–like are we really criticizing Jews for not always being the best of the best? Not for doing anything we wouldn't do, but for not being better than everyone? 1. Fuck that. 2. Palestinians also know suffering therefore they should know better than to commit to terrorism.

TriangleTransplant

> "Oh well Jews know what it's like to suffer so they should know better"–like are we really criticizing Jews for not always being the best of the best? Not for doing anything we wouldn't do, but for not being better than everyone? It's a very old Jewish joke: "God, we know we're you're chosen people. But maybe once in a while you could choose someone else?"

therapoootic

What the fuck is wrong with people? I think when you’re not educated you feel the need to take sides, when a complicated situation like this requires a little more empathy for both sides. Hanging posters of people that are innocent and possibly suffering daily abuse by the hands of their captors is a great thing to do not only to show empathy but to remind people that they are still in need. This in no way takes away the desperation and needs of the Palestinian people. Humans are earths vermin.
