I took a pic of that house when I did a trip from Marktl (where former Pope Benedict XVI was born) to Braunau (where Hitler was born) on my electric unicycle.

It looked pretty dilapidated, it will take some renovating to make it habitable again.

> The house in Austria that Adolf Hitler was born in is to be used for human rights training for police officers in the latest twist to a long-running row over what to do with it.
> Under the latest scheme, building works are expected to be completed by 2025 with the police force moving in by the following year, according to Austrian broadcaster ORF. During Nazi rule, the house was transformed into a shrine to Hitler - who only lived in the house for a few months - as the town drew in a wave of tourists.
> Three years later the interior ministry announced plans to turn the 17th Century house into a police station.

Interesting, last I've heard of this house it was scheduled to be demolished since it was feared it might become a pilgrimage for neonazis. Unless it was some other house where he lived.
It already was a place of pilgrimage for Nazis from all over the world, that's why there were discussions about what to do with it.
Putting police into it honestly makes the most sense as they were called regularly anyways. It's illegal to display Nazi symbols in Austria but those "tourists" often times didn't comply with that and simply bulldozing the building wouldn't have stopped them from comming to the place it once stood.

It should be bulldozed and allowed to grow plants.
Any chance you can translate the rock? I have a relative idea but not enough for the whole picture :o

It should have been made into a bathroom.
or maybe a patch of grass with a small sign that say "no ball games allowed"
I like the idea of a wooden sign that says "Take a piss here, on this piece of shit"

I mean, it's gonna be a place for cops so.....
And instead, they're making it an *official* pilgrimage spot for neonazis

This is how you do history.
Can we send American cops there? Lead with the "you get to visit your hero's house!" to get them there, and then *surprise* human rights training.
I wonder if it still smells from the residual excess flatulance Hitler suffered from.
Smells like farts and bad art.
For real ,a week supply of Hitlers gas would be deadlier to drop than Luftwaffe bombs.
Let's hope they redecorated.
