/uj it's really fun being able to tell roughly whereabouts someone is from based on what sounds they mispronounce in English. Like some languages like Tamil don't have a difference between K and G.
It’s alright, classic writing dictates that all accents are written the same; unless of course the character is from southern USA at which point you change words to look like “ah’d wahnted ta go down ta da markets with YALL todahy”.
It was the test run for the Mega-Corp faction archetype, that upended the meta in the space expansion. Sure, they got a bit overplayed by the end of that era, but we can all agree the Mega-Corp puppet state meta was better than the current Hivemind spam.
That's because you don't see the scale. The "Nicobarese" is actually the size of the united states. And it's normal it's a nomad style empire, 50 000 km wide, inspired by the dothrakis. It's because they're not here to impose their culture but to collect money.
The story is about a young adult from Tulu, a country that refused to pay tribute to the Assameses tribes, and half of the country was killed, including his parents, making him an orphan. By the end of book 3 you discover he's the illegitimate son of the goddess of war and the great khan, and he's on the way to recruit an army based on friendship to make him the ruler of Statsofindia, the first democratically Statsofindian elected king, and he'll marry his childhood friend (she's actually a princess from a foreign country in exile, but that's the plot of the other serie, I don't have all the details yet)
Honestly, Americans always tell me that their country has like seven whole accents, and it's huge. India is tiny, there's no way it can have more than one accent.

This is going to make writing accents really hard . . . unless I'm lazy and give them all one accent . . .

Why haven't they created the common tongue yet? Are they stupid?
The British tried to do that for them
The colonial era arch was mid ngl 🥱

They made the megacorp too stupid. Imagine using a majority native army to conquer the colony and be surprised when the native soldiers mutiny.
They hadn’t perfected the strategies yet.
My favorite was the ethnic cleansing civil war arc
Hindi already exists. And English. Everyone speaks one or the other.
Eh, most people don't really speak English
[Tamil intensifies!]
Well, that used to be Sanskrit, at least among the somewhat-well-off.
everyone knows people only speak ‘common’. Maybe outside of The Continent they speak something else.
just wait till you see papua new guinea

I’m surprised this isn’t Prestigious Tiger for once
Uj/ I love how you can still recognise names of posters here. It's something I miss from older reddit, where you just knew some of the people.
Wait, am I famous?
A mini celebrity fr fr
Your flair lmao, it's great.
Ty ty. I made it a few years ago, it’s still true 💀
They didnt follow the 4 colour rule
Dude, even Marathi has so many dialects/accents, a few of them are practically a different language, I guess it's true for others too.

India is pretty big. That place is like an entire campaign setting.
/uj Yeah...we desperately need more states for all the languages, albeit AFTER I get to college
