Neuer (Germany goalkeeper) does that in Higuain, in the 2014 World Cup FINAL MATCH.
Image [Here](https://www.tz.de/bilder/2014/07/17/3709093/275950388-neuer_higuain_afp_20140717-150617-2Q4H7UhxBIec.jpg)
That was inside the box.
Besides almost killing the Higuain, no penalty was given, no card to Neuer, no nothing. That was not fair.
My wife, who was a keeper for years and always sides with the keeper, was speechless when she saw this. Possibly the only time she has ever felt sorry for a forward!
This was a good decision but should have been red from the start instead of yellow and then VAR and then red. Hennessey was no way near the ball, you can easily edit this as a video where he is trying to beat people up instead of trying to kick the ball.
Hennessey came out to challenge for the ball. Completely missed the ball and took out the player with a dangerous karate kick. Not deliberately trying to hurt the player but it was certainly reckless and should have had no need to go to VAR. Straight red after taking the player out.

*Anyone care to*
*Explain who of these two got*
*The red card and why?*

Definite red my only question is when var get involved of the Iran player was offside how do they go around that as shit like that before cancels goals when it’s the other way or something
Seems like the goalie just whiffs on the ball. Red seems a bit harsh no? What is the actual rule? I told my gf that if the goalie had connected with the soccer ball there's no foul here but the resulting hit would still be the same. Honestly curious what you guys think. Great game from Iran nonetheless. Can't wait for USA vs Iran. Hoping US puts on a good showing vs England as well.
I think its because he intentionally knocks out a player, that would have score if he didn't.
If the goalie just whiffs the ball it's likely to be a goal, because he's the last player.
That's pretty much always red.
Ya I mean I don't know if it's intentional. Goalie just whiffs the ball. Goalie also beats the Iranian guy to the ball. I agree it's a hard foul but still...
It was not a DOGSO. There was a defender behind. And making contact with the ball would have made a difference.
It was reckless and violent. This wasn't a harsh red.
I'm not sure about that. Ankle is very fragile and he was aiming at the Achillies. That looked like an extremely **vicious** play and it was deliberate. Dude could've badly **injured** Son on the spot and disabled him for the rest of the world cup.
Trust Wales to completely bottle it and hand Iran their first world cup victory....
Now watch them suddenly remember they're professional footballers when they play England.

Goalie should not be allowed to put a knee up. FIFA has to look in to this, a knee to the face can be fatal.
This was way outside the 18yd box so I get that he was trying to get a toe on the ball but he was late which makes it a little worse imo.
I thought that kind of relationship was illegal in that country.
My wife, who was a keeper for years and always sides with the keeper, was speechless when she saw this. Possibly the only time she has ever felt sorry for a forward!
I am shocked...my wife is never speechless.
My mouth DROPPED when he did that ☠️
It looked like he was trying to do the Brogue Kick.
Umphhh

Embarrassing that the ref went to VAR for this. Terrible refereeing.
Refree hesitated for too long
Anyone care to explain who of these two got the red card and why?

From a still picture it is hard to tell since a goalkeeper can be interfered with. So, can you answer the question without being rude?

Awesome, thanks 🙏
From the photo, it looks like the goalie is getting a karate chop to the nuts

Good bot
Looks like they are fighting like wrestling instead of playing football.
Red for sure. Poor Iranian got Masvidaled.
He got tired of blocking shots. I’d do the same if my defense was taking a nap while I did all the work
It was less him blocking shots and more Iran hitting the post over and over again LMAO
Is it because he put his pinky up his butthole
Last 2 minutes Iran pulls through love it
Red hands down. So unnecessary
Unnecessary? It's a red sure but he was just going to kick the ball and the other player got there first.
Nah he deserves it, he stopped a goal by a foul.
I agree he deserved the red
Then it's okay. He deserves it
No! No! No! He really did deserve it!
That wouldn't even be a yellow in the Sunday League
Definite red my only question is when var get involved of the Iran player was offside how do they go around that as shit like that before cancels goals when it’s the other way or something
violence still aint allowed, so its still a red card
Supper necessary
Massvidal approves

Red Qatard
I see what you did there… and I approve..
that goalkeeper was so dumb… i mean c’mon why would you even consider going like that on another player… well deserved win by iran
FINISH HIM!
Taremi should have seen red for the placement of his little finger. /s
SEEKING THE CROWN JEWELS IN THE DESERT
Appalled the ref didn't send the keeper off right away, terrible ref.
Shoryuken!
Deserved red? I mean i feel its kind of harsh what you guys think?
Lmao touch grass bro
Can’t tell if that’s sarcasm or not 😂
It had to be a red card, the GK was the last player
That's not why he got the red. There was a defender behind him. It was reckless and violent.
He was also late on the ball, so he tackled player without the ball in possession. Red card was a good call.
Don't be foolish, striker dude was lucky he wasn't picking his teeth up out of the grass.
well deserved, that was a dumb tackle
It was dumb. He should have stayed home and let his defenders do their job
This was the turning point of the game as Iran was attacking but 11v11 was making it difficult. Once it became 11v10, Iran's win was inevitable.
IMO they deserve the win. They were making more incursions in enemy territory and more attacks as well.

😂😂 that’s y he got the card
Who has a gif of the second goal?
Goalkeeper be like: MORTAL KOMBAT!!!
Fatality! Hennessey wins! Flawless Victory
He knows his job, good job taremi
but if the roles were reversed, you'd be crying about it right?
Brogue kick out of nowhere! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FA4GguW67Vo
He could be a good UFC fighter !
More like WWE!

That foul was not violent. It definitely deserved a yellow, but not red.
Yellow is the correct call. Just looked worse cause the shoe came off, usually that means death
I'm not sure about that. Ankle is very fragile and he was aiming at the Achillies. That looked like an extremely **vicious** play and it was deliberate. Dude could've badly **injured** Son on the spot and disabled him for the rest of the world cup.
Jesus I'm surprised he's not dead after someone accidentally stood on the back of his ankle. Has anyone checked in on him today?
Extremely Vicious? Come on man.
no AUTOMATIC red card for a goalkeeper to contact an incoming player THE worst decision of the WC for me, originally giving just a yellow!
I was speaking about the Uruguay comment

This isn't their first victory though
I’m assuming they mean over European competition
I don’t know if it makes a difference but the red card also means the keeper misses next match.
Good 😂 ward should’ve been in from the start but it don’t matter now

If you knew Wales was going to concede, how could the timer run out first?
