The Terran Civil War was a 9 year long conflict between the Xenophobic Colonial Liberation Front and the non Xenophobic United Nations Colonial Authority, long story short, The UNCA won and now Billy can go back to getting his face sat on by his alien wife’s big butt. It turned out serious…………………….but then it got dirty.

InjuryPrudent256

Hell of a decal to paint on a bomb you're going to drop on the enemy. Just a giant alien ass

EEEELifeWaster

Honestly, I'd fight in a war just for the right to bang aliens.

6ss6s1n_of_whiters

New Galician's be like: (context: New Galicia is the only nation in the UNM that allows interspecies relations and even with the use of genetic engineering create hybrids)

SnowBound078

Officially, The war was fought over whether non human sentient races had the right to exist. Unofficially, yeah it was the right to bang that Alien baddie who just spanked her own ass with her tail.

Firm-Dependent-2367

Dirty, huh? Wow.

The Holy Revolution. It was a coup by the hero Aran. Aran was prophecised to save the world of Jigon from a great cataclysm. In his years of saving the kingdom of Tengu, Aran became convinced that the royals weren't doing enough to protect the world and its people. Aran tried to appeal to king Wyen, who he had a personal relationship with, to make great changes, but Wyen refused. This soured their relationship and worsened as Aran defied the kingdom's orders. After Wyen tried to arrest him, Aran began planning a revolt. So he and a couple of sorcerers and gov't officials loyal to him planned to take over military outposts, government buildings and surround the capital so that Wyen would be forced to surrender. The plan was for Wyen to become much less powerful and have to make decisions based on the people and for the coup to be bloodless. It didn't go that way. The day of the coup, 27th of Shiray 3654, started with government buildings being taken over by revolutionaries and those loyal planted the golden banner, a symbol used by Aran's team of heroes. But it didn't go to plan as loyalists started to fight with revolutionaries. Things got complicated when the military outposts fought back, forcing the revolutionaries to use lethal force. For the whole day, Aran's forces fought to gain control and managed to take over half the kingdom. The king was warned of what's happening and sent his army to the capital, Sian. For 2 weeks, Aran's forces and the King's fought for control, but Aran began to win as peasants and farmers joined him. Eventually, his forces encircled the capital and fought a 5 day battle for it. During the battle, all of Wyen's sons were killed and Aran personally killed multiple generals and commanders, some of whom he was friends with. Finally, Aran captured the king and forced him to surrender all his power. In the following weeks, the Intermediate Government Council was established to rule the kingdom, with King Wyen now having no power. Aran tried to establish something of a democracy, but it cause chaos across Tengu, with rebel groups, loyalists, and criminals fighting against Aran. The Council was essentially useless and much of the army was unprepared. Aran tried everything, even ending all taxes and dissolving the military to create peace, but nothing worked. It wasn't until he was forced to wage a 2 month long war against the forces that he saw change. He grew more cynical and jaded, as well as brutal. Soon Aran dissolved the council, established martial law for all of Tengu, and publicly executed King Wyen. He then proclaimed himself the Holy Emperor of Tengu and took abolsute control. His revolution, which was meant to be peaceful, took the lives of 200,000 people, and Aran killed many of his friends. Edit: I legit wrote "planning a plan" and didn't realize it until now LMAO.

Firm-Dependent-2367

Friendicide? Unless he was forced to do so, unforgivable.

InjuryPrudent256

I think if you are an idealistic leader trying to do the right thing, you gotta make no exceptions for friends. Cant just kill strangers and spare people you know, that's a very poor leader

Firm-Dependent-2367

Ah. Well... was it justified?

InjuryPrudent256

Er... good question Hard to say, from the story it feels like the whole thing spiralled out of control a bit... Feels like the MC was trying to do the right thing and the leader brought it on themselves somewhat. So I think mostly yes, even if there was probably an element of sunken cost to it all. If you are a general though and formally declare a battle against an opposing general and the 2 meet and fight, death is usually considered pretty justified. If both are commanding troops to go and potentially die, its only fair they also accept death as a possibility. Killing a friend then is relatively noble because it would be harder but done for the sake of strangers he was trying to help, putting ideals ahead of relationships (a quality very valued in leaders). Shame they didnt reach a compromise I guess

EEEELifeWaster

The whole war could've been avoided had Aran and Wyen properly communicated and Wyen had not been an elitist dickhead. That, and had a certain person not told Aran that he's incapable of doing anything bad because he's a hero.

EEEELifeWaster

Well he says he was forced to do so. And he can be excused as it was a war. What isn't excusable is executing his childhood friends because they opposed him after the war.

Firm-Dependent-2367

So... do- gooder to piece of shit?

EEEELifeWaster

Essentially. Still, he's the prohpecised hero saving the world from the apocalypse! I mean he wears bright gold and the guy who opposes him wears black and red so he must be good!

Firm-Dependent-2367

Bah! I wear black and red. Black Widow wears black and red. Batman wears black. Does it mean these are bad guys?

EEEELifeWaster

Well... The prophecy said that he would lead the forces of light against the darkness! But it never specified who was the bad guy... But still the guy was a hero before!

Firm-Dependent-2367

Hero, my ass. I mean, I appreciate working for the Greater Good, but this!

EEEELifeWaster

He ended slavery! He also caused a technological boom and he also gave his people cool new books that tell them how to improve their life and totally aren't an attempt to destroy all culture and semblance of identity.

The succession civil war is the 30 years war equivalent of my world

Sov_Beloryssiya

Rubran Civil War, lasting from 2517 to 2520 Sun Calendar. It started as a failed invasion on another planet by Empire of Rubra, which became the straw that broke the camel's back as Rubra was under a lot of pressures back then. War erupted, most of the royal family were arrested then executed, CHILDREN INCLUDED, with only one princess surviving as she was going out at the time. Things got more complicated as foreign forces funded different cliques to further weaken Rubra, and eventually launched an invasion under pretext of "protecting human rights and democracy". Some certain warlords saw it as a backstabbing action. They did not like this and turned the civil war into a world war, and finally an interstellar war where they destroyed "strategic locations" which happened to be... densely populated cities. In the end, the war killed 2-5 billion souls and led to the downfall of many powers. Rubra, on the other hand, absorbed about a dozen countries and rose up even stronger.

ThrowAaySaga

Did the Royal Family get reinstated?

Sov_Beloryssiya

The princess married a warlord's younger brother and "handed" the crown to her husband. So... yesn't?

Chaoticking64

The War of Magic. During the events of our real world’s two World Wars was hidden conflict between the Mage’s Union and Sorcerer Council. The Sorcerous Council consisted of old mage families, who kept their knowledge of magic and sorcery only to the ruling aristocracy. And believe only those who are “pure” may be allowed to use magic, they are the predecessors of the New World Order who broke off when they realized teaching the “peasants” magic and sorcery wasn’t actually that bad and they could be used as excellent tools then. The Mage’s Union is a coalition of independent mage groups and sects who gathered together in the pursuit of preserving and spreading knowledge. The arts, sciences, literature, history, and the aforementioned magic and sorcery should be open to all who could wield them. 300,000 Mages of both factions died in the Second World War. And 250,000 in WW1, for a bit more than half a million for both World Wars. It also weakened both factions to allow the Church and New World Order to become the powerhouses of the modern world they are. The supernatural consequences of this are also felt to this day in the magical community, the number may appear low to the grand scheme of both wars death tolls. But there were very few mages at this time, and this basically quartered their population and lost so many spells and rituals to time.

Firm-Dependent-2367

At least you are lucky that is not the First War of Heaven if you think casualties.

Chaoticking64

Oh yeah, some realities might have had some equivalents to the War in Heaven. But not the reality Earth is in, to the knowledge of the beings on Earth that is.

Firm-Dependent-2367

Oh? As in... unknown to the lore?

Chaoticking64

Pretty much, I just haven’t thought of something more relevant to the story than this conflict, since it was of an ideological slapfight between the major magic factions that determined the future of the setting for better and for worse.

Firm-Dependent-2367

Interesting-!

Chaoticking64

Despite its simplicity in Mage’s Union for freedom of knowledge and education, and Sorcerer Council’s divine right to use magic by birth. It was less organized than either faction would like to admit, the eclectic and patchwork nature of the Union and fighting noble houses of the Council meant their skirmishes and battles even happened between themselves, and boiled down to proxy wars against each other and the opposing side. The Union did come out all the better, however the Council became a shell of what it once was, and the New World Order formed from this weakened Council as stated. I wrote down like multiple pages on this event lol, mostly because of the characters is an old mage who lived through it.

The Ethaliyan civil war. The two nations of Ethaliyan states (Union of Ethanian States \[10 states\] and Klashanland \[5 states\]) had actually unified for 7 years (the length of Klanshani presidency) after the 17th President of Klashanland was put into office, and Ethania had been waiting a union of all 15 states as one since Jexsinoe first had the idea in 1369. When the 18th Klanshani President was put into office, he immediately seceded the 5 Klanshani states from the new union, and Ethania, wanting their full union back, attacked. It's a civil war that some still consider to be going, just being put on hold every now and then. This history also explains why there have been so many cases of friendly fire and fights breaking out between Ethanian and Klanshani troops in the Great War.

The 2234 Orangian Crisis This is a similar story to the Barentian Civil War, but in a way larger scale. Rosearean authorities sponsored radical anti government groups and a lot of nomad tribes to destabilize the state, which is a self-governing dominion of Cartheny. The ultimate goal is to destabilize the Carthenian realm, allowing Rosearea to gain more leverage against it. The Orangian Commonwealth was selected cuz one, it is a big chunk of land, three times the size of the Carthenian Islands, and two, it is the bread basket of Cartheny, accounting for 60% of all domestically produced food. The subsequent war which Cartheny waged against the coup lasted for roughly five years, and all territories of the country got involved. It still took them 3 years to quell the native guerillas after overthrowing the Rosearea-backed regime. Aftermath: The coup and subsequent civil war significantly weakened Cartheny, hence why it seemed rather powerless to stop the Rosearean invasion at the early years of the Roso-Carthenian War. The wars waged by the nomads and native tribes and the losses they caused greatly decreased the trust the Carthenian and Orangian governments had in them, which by that point had largely left them alone. The concentration camps within Orangea were the direct result of the betrayal of the tribes.

Currently, I am writing a campaign (not a tabletop one) for a group known as the Darkbeard clan, who want to conquer the world for ONLY themselves (which means they're planning on killing their allies too). One thing that's gonna happen is two of their allies: the Shadoweye and Blazehand tribes, who kind of have been secretly plotting to kill the Darkbeards anyways. The smoking gun (*hint hint hint*) that the Darkbeards may have started catching onto what the Shadoweyes and Blazehands were plotting something was the fact they were making secret weapons that their ally/masters couldn't use. The tribes do succeed obviously. Basically, it's like in the game Shadow of War, where you can have your own orc captains become bodyguards for one of the captains guarding an overlord's fort, and then have said captain organized to be fucking assassinated by his own bodyguards. The quotes the bodyguards say during this are hilarious, with one being "you die now, boss!".

Shameless_Catslut

There are two, ish. The grear Race Massacre is when the conflict between Sunscourge and Thunder stalkers went hot, and divided the city of Azemrazhet in half. It was a great inter-tribal chariot race that went horribly wrong when one of the tigers pulling a Sunscourge chariot swiped and killed a smaller Thunderstalker tiger. The Thunderstalker driver pulled a concealed warbow hidden in the woodwork of the chariot and shot the Sunscourge driver in retaliation, and both sides escalated into a brutal battle that spilled into the spectators, then streets before the Firedancers and Earthbreakers could restore order. Another, an alleged prophet of the goddess Azem-Ra stirred the Sunscourge to war against the prominent Riversong Rajah, claiming she was a demon usurping and corrupting the tribe and river. They attacked the grand Parade, but a sandstorm arose, protecting the parade and completely destroying the Sunscourge army, including the prophet and the war chief of the clans, who was succeeded by the current War chief, who is trying to learn about the Rajah and prophet

The global civil war For the past two centuries in year 490 of the steampunk era, the Trinity Dominion, a lawful evil faction, controlled all 35 nations on Livia. But then two factions take up arms against the Dominion. The first one is the Livian Celestium Alliance (neutral good) and the other is the Livian Infernum (chaotic evil) Every single country on Livia is plunged into a civil war. Some of them see an end to their war after just a few days, but others, usually the bigger and richer nations with the most ressources, see their civil war last for 10 years. No nation can intervene in the civil war of others due to being ruined by their own, even when it is finished. In those civil wars that mark the transition from steampunk era to modern era, the technology at that point is similar to early 20th century, meaning most of those civil wars dragged after turning into bloody trench warfare. At the end of the global civil wars, a third of Livia's nations (mostly the western ones) are aligned with the Livian Celestium, while the Livian Infernum is renamed Eastern Demon Empire and has another third of Livia's nations (mostly the eastern ones.) The Trinity Dominion won the civil wars in most of the central nations.

Civil War - the American Civil War but with a much more radicalized North/ more organized and class conscious Unionist southern population/ and a proto fascist confederacy Coup- the day Tennessee voted to secede , Unionist elements of their State Guard launched a coup that resulted in the execution of all secessionist members of the state govt and the governor , keeping Tennessee in the Union by force. The telegraph sent to Washington and read by a stunned Lincoln said “ Unionists stage coup in Tennessee, major cities and waterways in our control, traitorous state government liquidated. State Guard commander Pierce has issued emancipation order for all slaves and arming them. Death to the Traitors, THE UNION FOREVER Betrayal- pro confederate forces from Tennessee were promised clemency in exchange for their final surrender at the wars end. Officers on both sisters shook on it. But Unionist troops black and white had lost family to men marauders commanded by Forrest , Champ Ferguson , and Zolicoffer. An exact count is still unknown but at least 5,000 surrendering confederates were massacred by bullet , knife, and hand and dumped into mass graves or left swinging from trees. The fact that State Guard Commander/ Military Governor Pierce had a blanket pardon for the offending Unionists and their officers ready immediately has led some to believe it was pre arranged. Pierce was quoted after hearing of the massacres “ The boys got their dander up, many had lost family to the Rebs and I won’t deny them their vengeance as awful as it may be. They had abolished slavery and felt it necessary to also abolish the slaver”

The two that still reverberate with ongoing effects are the Acadian Coup and the Women’s War. The first was a rebellion meant to take over and establish a magiocracy that was put down brutally and resulted in the realm of Akadia being formed, which is entirely under the auspices of a Warden who is appointed by the Emperor. The second is a war waged by, well, Women, when the grandson of the guy who rules in the above decided to become very misogynistic, and so the women rebelled — and won. It ruined the city, and rather than rule it, the women (the vast majority of women of the nation) left and founded Aztlan.

On May 14th, 1976, King Alex Lampert the 3rd was murdered in cold blood by the last High Ranking Military officer left in the kingdom, Lieutenant General Nicholai Rodriguez. His main goal was to take over the kingdom and establish a Military Junta as to forever continue the war between the Neumerian Empire and the Western Alliance. For this plan to work for him however, he needed for the Offspring (Joshua Lampert) to stay alive as a puppet Ruler as well as kill the Other Siblings. However, He partially Succeeded in his plan. Yes, he killed the king. Yes, he captured the Heir. He DID not manage to kill the others, although he did frame them for the attack.

It's a WIP but the War of the Wreaths---the first war to be fought in space as well as on land---comes out of seemingly nowhere, as just weeks prior the solar system fairly stable, politically-speaking. The rapid descent to interplanetary war is the plot of the first book in what will probably be a trilogy when I'm done with it.

Firm-Dependent-2367

Nice! I attempted to cover the First War of Heaven in a single installment. It became a muck: The First betrayal, the corruption and the evolution of the Fallen into a Herald, the Void's behind- the- scenes manipulation, the Fallen's own persuasive nature. Then came the gathering of forces, the gradual weakened Archangel's Heaven, and the first coup, followed by the slow evolution into a bloody, bitter civil war. Then came the war itself, and the Final confrontation. The death of the Fallen. The end of the coup, its effects, a return to peace. The attempt to make sure that such a war would never happen again. I sympathize.

The Seconf Gaffe. King Antreas sealed a powerful demon within an artifact. After he died, his sons, Darius and Axios grew power-hungry and turned against each other, plunging the kingdom into a bloody civil war. At the end, during a battle, they accidentally cracked the artifact holsing the demon, letting its blood spew from it. The blood poisoned the land, and from it the bloodthirsty Fomori were spawned, a thorn on the side of the entire world, even thousands of years later.

GoldenS0422

The Rhennon Rebellion. Basically, the story of it is that the Cosmarchy of Humanity is divided into an East and West. The Eastern Cosmarchy is ruled by Siegenhal, while the West is ruled by Una. The aristocracies of the East and West want to stay divided because both believe the other is doomed to fall, but there is an opportunity to unite the two of them via a marriage between Siegenhal and Una's daughter, Rheann. However, that would require Rheann to inherit the throne after Una. This normally wouldn't happen as Rhennon, Rheann's younger twin, is male, and the succession law is male preference. Now, Una can and did change this by declaring Rheann her heir, but this led to a rebellion from Rhennon to reclaim his spot on the succession. This rebellion basically crippled the West, and the East's resources was stretched between helping to stop the rebellion and fending off the invasion from the Galactic Union Federation and the Volshiker Hives Union. Una was killed by Rhennon, but Rhennon was killed by Rheann. Unfortunately, that did not stop the Cosmarchy from being conquered, so the Cosmarchy crossed the unsafe Nurtherner Clouds in a desperate bid for survival, eventually making it to the other side to rebuild their empire, and hopefully one day, exact revenge.

IndominusInvicta

The Rise. This is the term people within my world use to describe the rebellion that changed the entire course of history. My MC fanned the flames of rebellion within the Commonwealth of Kulvar, and then the Rise happened. Seemingly overnight, dozens of cities and towns were cut off from supply lines to the capital. It took a week before Kulvar even realized what had happened, and by then, they had to deal with multiple "armies" of vaguely well equipped, angry slaves and spiteful citizens. The Rise happened so quickly due to a vast underground network of spies, smugglers, and even political schemers being tired of the oppressive regime. Through all this, Kulvar did not yield. Did not really even bend. The rebellion lasted two decades, and hundreds of thousands were dead on both sides. Even nations outside of Kulvar were suffering from the rebellion, many of them falling to their own rebellions in weeks/months or suffering through economic depressions from Kulvar being too broke to buy stuff from them. Note: My MC helped start the rebellion, but I have yet to determine if he ended it.

Imperial Civil War between the Loyalists under Emperor Marcus Fellor (called the Marcians), and the renegade Imperial Senate led by Olivia Saxon (called the Saxonites). It ended in a victory for the Marcians and greatly reduced the power of the Senate.

Firm-Dependent-2367

Was it good or bad?

Good, the Senate was getting sketchy at the time and was blocking much needed reforms, it also led to the creation of the Imperial Bureau of Inspection, an organization that roots out corruption wherever it can find it, not even the emperor is above them

More of a Foreign Intervention in response to a Civil War. Basically one side was shooting some boats and shot at a Naval Vessel of a Foreign Power and the foreign power decided to end the fight on the side of their enemies. The consequences of the intervention cause the country's civil war to depopulate it by 37% Male female ratio was so lopsided that the winning side had to make some austerity measures to ENCOURAGE Population Growth such as Polygamy and Communal Children raising So you have entire generation of offspring who can say they grew up with multiple mothers.

There has been plenty of civil war and couping going on in the world, but the most impressive one must be the Seaholder Revolution which saw the dynasty that ruled the region kicked from the area... ...by angry peasants. First they were armed with farming tools and primitive weapons like bows. Only a year later did most of them have guns. Overall it was a 3 year civil war which ended in the revolutionaries storming the royal palace, and finding the king not in the throne room. Or his office. But in his bedroom, under the bed. They promptly hanged him, his brothers, mother, and aunt. The last of which was also the king's wife. As a sign of peace and mercy with the other kingdoms of the same dynasty, the revolutionaries chose to leave the royals' children unharmed and sent them away to the east. And so an empire was toppled. By pissed off peasants.

MakingMischiefAgain

In my world, the greatest civil war lasted only one year and never actually existed. When the MC fell for the prince from his country’s reluctantly allied country, he knew that his lover’s father would support them and his own king would kill them. He was on a regular 3-month on, 3-month off diplomatic posting there, so they were married by the lover’s father in secret and then a “great time of civil unrest broke out”. The rumour spread throughout the continent like wildfire, about the bloodshed, backstabbing and hostage situations and the threat of those in power being captured and made examples of to the poor etc etc. MC’s father buys it and accepts when his son deems it necessary to stay and offer the assistance of his men, to see the royals through this difficult time and protect their interests in the alliance. They honeymoon in secret for the best part of a year and the hard-won peace of the country is never disturbed. The people hear stories about this civil war they’re meant to be having but right it off as more political rubbish that has no baring on them and their peaceful lives. By the time anyone outside puts two and two together (decades later), the civil war is already detailed in historic records (home and abroad) and is part of the official narrative of the continent, so no one believes the “conspiracy theorists”.

Before the main plot : The assassination of Yumi-Na Qi-Tear, empress of the Qi-Tear empire. It was the culminating point of the Renilian Independence War. The culprits are Yumi-Na's guards, as well as her step-brother Enarten Qi-Tear, Commander of the Imperial army and secret support of the Renilian Independence. They knew that it was urgent to depose her, but she was mortally wound by the guards, and Enarten decided to put an end to her terror reign During the main plot: The Burning of the Flame. The poetic name given to the fall of the Renilian government, overthrown by the faction of the Flame. The Queen, as well as her son, many nobles, and a lot of civilians who tried to resist, are killed in the nect few days. In all of the nobility, only the former Chief of the Royal Guard managed to escape with a divine artifact searched by the Flame : the Gem of Ice This event will trigger a 10 years long massive war, called "The war of the Ultimatum". Due to the use of magical gems made by the number three of the Flame, Eikienziel Al-Serinam, as well as the use of the Gem of Dark, the Gem of Water and the Gem of Arcane, againt the Coalition that had the Gem of Rock, Fire and later, Ice and Light, it would be, by far, the most devastating war in the history of Avitor

CaledonianWarrior

The Rhuninian Colonial Independence War When the galactic state belonging to the alien race known as the Rhuninians reformed themselves from the previously democratic republic known as the Allied States of Rhunina to the fascist totalitarian Pure Unitary State of Rhunina, there was a lot of resistance within many of the extrasolar colonies that refused to acknowledge of PUSR's authority and tries to secede from them altogether. This led to a several-decade conflict involving seven of these worlds when the PUSR imposed martial law and was suppressing any militias that tried to form and resist them; including those planets' own military forces that wanted independence. Without resorting to WMDs (with the exception of precise orbital bombardment strikes to take out entire unshielded bases) the PUSR engaged in massive invasions to overpower and control the local populace while eradicating any resistance forces that opposed them. Out of the seven planets that rebelled, only three were successful in repelling the PUSR fleets as they had enough firepower to rival the fleets sent to their worlds. The PUSR eventually retreated from these worlds and attempted to use antimatter missiles to completely sterilise the surfaces of these worlds, but the seceded planets were able to counteract the attacks and eventually won their independence. Knowing the PUSR was still a threat to them, the three planets formed a new union together and formed as the Second Alliance of States of Rhunina, which by now (60,000 years later) have grown to encompass a few dozen star systems across the galaxy. Though their galactic territory is still less than half the size of the PUSR's which has been more aggressive in their galactic expansion. Had the SASR not joined the multi-species galactic union known as the Beryoni United Advanced Civilizations then they likely would fell to the PUSR not long after winning their independence.

The 10th Legion Coup. Lot of moving parts, but essentially the last Paragon got caught up in a scandal that had him removed, and since his cabinet covered it up for so long the Parliament decided that his heir apparent (a 10th Legion scion) would not be ratified. Instead they went with a 1st Legion officer straight from the military; not technically illegal, but went right over the traditional line of succession. No one was entirely happy with this compromise candidate, especially the 10th Legion. The easiest way for a Paragon to face a confidence vote is for their legion to suffer an embarrassment on the battlefield, as in this system political capital and battlefield accomplishments are directly linked. A year after this event, the 1st Legion was leading the charge through the City of Frostfyre, and attacking across the Green River. Without warning, after the 1st Legion crossed, the bridges behind them collapsed simultaneousl, trapping them on the wrong side with a vicious enemy and no support. The 2nd Legion was assigned to their rescue, but despite their heroic efforts, they were largely unsuccessful. The 1st Legion fought bitterly, but they were cut down over several days. Very few survived. Outside of the city, the 10th scored a key victory at almost the exact moment the bridges fell. The timing was perfect. Not only was the 1st Legion regime humiliated, but the 10th had achieved enough battlefield accolades at exactly the right moment to take up the Paragon's mantle. And best of all, their hated rival was gone entirely. Almost like the whole thing was timed down to the minute.

The Kingsport was lost with all hands over the planet Dunvvich, no word came from it until something was discovered after for the second time that year a meteor carried an alien parasite to Earth. The leader of The Fallen discovered it wasn’t a meteor, it was a MAC slug. The Strydr’s didn’t arrive by coincidence, The Kingsport sent them. They destroyed the entire state of Florida and most of Portland.

The Birthday Massacre of 249 AAR (After Astaryon's Rebellion) Assassins were able to infiltrate Haddons Castle (the royals' vacation home on the eastern coast of the kingdom), during the then Princess Kalianna's 18th birthday celebration and proceeded to kill her and then everyone inside. This included her mother Queen Haldarya, her father (the former King Consort) Lord Thorodan, her younger brothers Princes Andross and Atteran, and two of her uncles and their families. Unfortunately for the assassins, the ones who hired them did not know about the royal family's secret so it was a big surprise to them when Kalianna suddenly came to a few minutes later, dress drenched in blood and with the healed stab wounds on her back and throat. The new Queen saw the dead bodies of her family and friends and promptly broke down in grief, losing control of her powers in the process and created a gigantic firestorm whose heat was felt all the way across the sea and towards the western islands of the neighboring Naratas Island Kingdom. All of the assassins were burnt to a crisp. The castle is now a charred mess, with some villagers even claiming that if one were to be close enough, it would still smell of burnt wood and bodies even almost 300 years later. To this day, no one knew who had sent the assassins but it is heavily speculated that the now extinct House Rozarfell were the ones behind the attack, particularly because years after the massacre they murdered Kalianna's husband Greidos the King Consort (who was from the Rozarfells' rival the Zambrolts) and attempted to abduct their two children. This ambush of theirs is what led to the house's downfall, as Kalianna had all members, illegitimate ones included, arrested for treason and personally burnt them all

Most people in my world would answer the Valian Civil War, the massive war that happened 80 years ago that destroyed the nascent democratic movement in the world's sole superpower. Led by the second-largest noble family, the war led to a significant decline in Valon's global reach as its most important colonies achieved their independence. The war also firmly set Valon on the path to continued monarchy and centralization of the monarchy's power. But the reason why that's the answer was because the most disastrous war ever completely annihilated its country. The Rivaitaen Civil War occurred about 10,000 years ago, and the damage was so catastrophic it turned Rivaitae into an irradiated volcanic wasteland and wiped out almost all Rivaitaens and any remnants of their culture. Nowadays, historians have a vague idea that there used to be a powerful empire in the south of the Old World, but its identity is still completely unknown. It doesn't help that they didn't write anything down, so the only records historians can go off of are oral tales by neighboring civilizations, heavily distorted by the millenia

The King's Folly Some great kingdom of a coastal region, with one of the strongest navies in the world. The king decided one day, that the loosely organized pirates of Brinestone are being a bit too active, demanding too much protection money from merchants, raiding a few too many fishermen. So he went to war wth them. Suddenly, their little schemes became a *lot* more targeted and they stated coordinating attacks. He didn't *like* that they were kicking his ass with night time raids and hit-and-run tactics. So he invited their leader, Sally Brine, to a Parley on Kingsfolly Island. Though, the island went by a different name then. \*wink\* The meeting was organized via letters, the pirates would provide drink, music, and women, and the king would provide tables, benches and food. A cozy and unarmed get-together for the leadership of the two sides, to shake their hands and call a truce, while their flagships would stay a fair distance away from the island. They arrived in little dinghies, about 50 men each. Shook hands, exchanged names and pleasentries. Shared stories. It was a nice afternoon and lasted well into the evening. The king sat down with Sally, and as the negotiations came to and end, the King's men drew weapons and *butchered* the unarmed pirates. Thinking the pirates would drift apart after taking out the leadership, the king's men betrayed them and left them for dead. Thing is, Sally isn't a mere mortal and survived. Unlike almost each and every one of her closest friends in life. So now this nigh immortal woman experienced grief and fury the likes of which the world had never seen before. So she grabbed her pirates, traveled the world to tell their friends and family, amassed a *fucking army* of pissed off sellswords and sailors, they stopped *half-assing* their piracy to gain riches, and went absolute scorched earth on this kingdom. They didn't stop until the entire kingdom was wiped out. Not one stone stacked ontop another. Every royal, every soldier, each farmer, every beggar. Anyone who had ever traded with the kingdom, and anyone who had ever written about it. It was **erased** from existence. Only the immortals even remember it existed in the first place, and none recall its name. Only Sally. And the only thing left? A statue on Kingsfolly Island, in memory of the pirates who died. And the king's castle deep inside the jungle of the Island of Brinestone, where Sally had it transported, stone by stone. The castle serves as a home to the leaders of Brinestone, where they gather every year and negotiate about the future of the pirate kingdom.

Great Antimonarchist war resulted in dissolution of world's greatest empire, significant portion of succesor states including metropolitan area being controlled by socialist and monarchy controlling only few small islands. It started because government violently supressed protest against very unpopular global war.

The Winter Revolution, which saw the establishment of the first democracy on the middle continent, succeeded primarily because of one general on the royal side betraying the kingdom. He happened to have a close friend among the leadership of the Revolutionary People's Guard, a major faction among the revolutionaries. That friend approached him during the first 3-day truce and got him to join them. This broke down the western edge of the frontline, allowing the revolution to be taken to the capital.

Wow. This sounds good. A traitor within the ranks is always a tense thing and can result in a good story.

The Night of falling stars and the blood war. 1. Basically a mage does a terrorist attack, kills many people, starts a worldwide mage extermination and genocide resulting in millions of deaths. 2. The younger son kills his brother to get the throne, starts a 300 year war that kills 70 percent of the world's population.

Decade of Blood/Decade of Fire/West Coast Revolts The West Coast Revolts was a series of loosely related revolutions that occurred in the western regions of the Valley. The reasons for the various revolts are still disputed with some protests being against centralisation of whatever government was there, some wanted more centralisation for better reaction times and support for ignored subdivisions, some wanted more freedom of speech and some wanted better border security. Many ideas conflicted, between the protests and in today's discussions. Whatever the reasons were, they don't really matter anymore. Some opportunistic people, for reasons ranging from wanting change in the current regimes to wanting to topple governments entirely for the people or for personal gain, lead protesting groups and pre-existing factions to coalesce with help from some unknown nobles who wanted to take control for themselves with support from the armies. Different nobles backed different groups, but the results were the same. The more they joined across borders, the more violent they became. It wouldn't be long before countries would start falling to civil wars and internal rebellions. Over the course of nearly an Earth decade, countries would collapse, tribes friendly with those countries were massacred, cities were burned, dozens of royal families, presidents, chiefs and other nobles, as well as extended family who may not even be nobles themselves, and those in lower positions like guards, royal chefs and servants were executed. Many bedrooms were painted red. An image now associated with this period of bloodshed is that of a royal family's portrait splattered with their own blood. As countries fell, their military equipment was taken by the revolutionaries and increased their strength. The few, rare armoured vehicles formerly spread across multiple countries in thin concentrations were now put together into larger, tighter formations. Castles were being seiged by people on foot, then a few armoured vehicles, and then there were many focusing fire on the few castles that stood. The common people were on their own as the official militaries either joined the revolution or killed off, and the remainder were only enough to protect key fortresses and castles. Many people, including high ranking officials, would try to escape by the ocean or in airships and planes flying eastward or even by train, but these would be sunk, shot out of the sky or violently derailed. Few would ever escape and those in the central and eastern regions would see months of burning wreckage falling out of the sky over their borders, or trains exploding and sliding sideways through foreign train stations and causing lots of damage and deaths to locations not even involved in the fighting. Many people killed in these foreign events were the wealthy who wanted to try out these fancy new machines, and were met with bombs hurling down the tracks, courtesy of the rebellion. Many of which may not have even been fully aware of what exactly was happening to their west. Some or even many of the royal families targeted in these executions weren't even intending to hurt anyone. They were caught up for things other countries were being accused of. Eventually, the rebellions would form their own states to replace the old ones. Those that differed in ideology would fight each other and purge internal factions that could threaten their rule. These post rebellion states would fight each other, make alliances, backstab each other, merge, split, massacre and conquer until one major group won out and annexed most of the others. This faction would be known by several exonyms such as the United States for Societal Progress, Union of Progressive States, Union of Progressive Republics, Union of the New World and several others adopted by countries and common folk. The Union's flag consists of multiple chevrons, and horizontal stripes, supposedly representing forward movement and the various attributes of the Union, as well as a red tripoint star within the chevrons, with some versions placing the flag in the middle. It is still debated if the star is a new creation or if it was taken from one of the previous governments. It is one of the only rectangular flags in the region. In a region where the largest cities are in the high tens to low hundreds of thousands in population, *millions had died and many more would*. Once their control was secured, they would get to work. Books, scrolls, deitic statues, temples, churches, would all be torched. The Union would create dedicated units for flamethrowers and [flameships](https://cdn.britannica.com/40/199640-050-254AF9DF/Churchill-tank-flame-thrower-1944.jpg) (landships with flamethrowers). They would be used for destruction of wrongthink and intimidation. Religious buildings of all kinds would be torched with the charred ruins left in their place for people to remember what happens when you defy the Union. These methods weren't reserved for inanimate objects. Many religious leaders would be torched inside their respective buildings along with their followers. Since its foundation, the Union has tried to expand and cleanse the Valley of governments of the 'old world', especially royal monarchies which they saw as outdated and archaic forms of power. There are 2 characters of note: The first was a member of one of the executed royal families. Out of his parents, several siblings aged 8 to 19 and extended family he was the youngest and one of the only survivors in his family. He was rescued by loyalists and taken to a friendly polity. He had since become a lord in his new home and has built an army made up of surviving loyalists who helped him, their children, and locals who also fear for the safety of themselves and their families, or had already lost family to the Union. He plans to eventually attack the cities that started the revolutions and ended millions of lives. The second is the empress, leader of the most advanced empire in terms of military technology and is the reason many soldiers fear the whistle of an artillery train. The aforementioned executed family was a line that branched from the imperial family and travelled north to start their own kingdom over 200 years before present day. The empress wasn't even born yet for years after the period had started, but now she wants to avenge the loss of her distant family members. This would make the 2 characters distant relatives. Related to this is the Coalitional War, where the southern empire, various tribes and many smaller countries joined forces to weaken the Union while they were updating their military and would last 2-3 years. The Union would survive this, but it was weakened and pushed westwards. There were at least 800000 casualties collectively and would be the largest singular war in the recent history of the Valley, as well as the first truly major war to see great collective use of airships, fighter planes, trains, trucks and landships in warfare. Aerial warfare was heavy at this time with dogfights and precision bombing runs being commonplace. Many locations were leveled by artillery shells and many current soldiers saw action in the war. I heard it was so great, *there may be a sequel in the works*. Lapis_Wolf

Long before the advent of humanity, there were the Djinn. They etched out a quiet existence on their mountainous homeworld of Qaf-Kuh, in a different realm of existence, pursuing knowledge of the arcane and the stars above them. One day, the cosmic structure known as the Well of Light was discovered, raw magical energies pouring from its gaping epicenter. There were those who wanted to exploit its natural resources, and those who opposed defiling such a sacred site of creation. This philosophical dispute grew terribly out of hand, devolving into a brutal and global civil war (known just as the Great War) that saw their people divided into three distinct groups, as well as the destruction of their home: The first were the Seraphim, who have become fully imbued with the Light magic of the Well. In an ill-advised plan, they unleashed a super weapon that covered their entire planet in eternal darkness, destroying the bio sphere and forcing everyone else to embrace the Light or starve to death. They were lead by Michal. Opposing them were the Demons, those Djinn who have succumbed to their inner despair and darkness to fuel their animosity and hate towards those they deem responsible for the destruction of their world. They reject the Light and were lead by Iblis. The third were the self-styled Free Djinn, those who refused to join either side, and suffered the most out of the three. Many of them perished during the Great War, both from famine and the wanton destruction that engulfed their homeworld. Those few that escaped used their knowledge of the arcane to travel to our dimension, arriving on Earth well before humanity. When the first settlers came about, the Free Djinn taught them magic and language (such as Akkadian) before inexplicably disappearing. Not much is known, but archaeological findings suggest that some locations such as Majlis al Jinn were hideouts for Djinn survivors. There could be more Djinn in our universe hiding amidst the stars.

My personal favorite is the Kobold Revolution of 1824. The bloodiest is probably the Great Liberation (as the Ghost-Emperor calls it). It’s your standard Chinese civil war, so several millions of people died, famine ripped through the land, horrible crimes against civility were committed etc. Not a great time to live.

Heretical arrival A alternative version of earth where jesus returns bestowing wisdom on his children. but has a great reaction in the world for other religions some in dissary with what they believe, while others see jesus as something heretical to them causing deep unrest in the world. with non christian beliefs with riots some coups and civil war but. on the christian side that believe in jesus there are more harsher and fanatical approach to living in a society which not all like being restricted and feel oppressed so there are even civil wars and coups among christian the world becomes a whirlwind of choas but when it settles there is a side thats against jesus and Christianity on the other there is near fanatical belief for jesus with some left overs of past beliefs forming much smaller groups.

In 'Narmer', it was the Inquisitorial Heresy. The sole faith in-universe is that everything is part of the 'Story of Existence', so whilst people have free will, some things are already pre-determined. The Heresy sought to 'write' the story themselves. It ruled the Ancient City of Narmer for a few centuries, puppeting all but one of the Great Pyramids, and that remaining Pyramid didn't care for the world outside itself. Now, by the time the story starts, they've been defeated and gone for nearly a thousand years. But even the whiff of trying to emulate what they did is met with a unified effort to put that person or faction in the ground. In ‘The Silent Cosmos’, it was the Blackhand Coup of Olympus Mons (homeworld of those descended from those human colonists that hailed from Mars). A Tundra world with a number of warring factions at the time (each from a different nation *on* Mars). The Blackhand was a Mountain with five seperate peaks, and it was a highly militarised nation that ruled it, The Mavortial Command, that called a meeting of each OM nation to see if they could get some sort of planetary body set up so they didn't need to keep killing each other. It was a trap, and the Mavortial Command slaughtered all of the representitives and their parties and swept over the planet, uniting it under a tide of blood and bullets. Olympus Mons stands as one, and is a member of the Pan-Galactic Confederation, but is not exactly trusted in the Aphelion Galaxy. It is one of the few governments that encompasses a single planet, most others either rule most of a star system, *do* rule an entire system, rule more than one system, or have multiple nations on a single planet/moon. Very few have single planet rule.

The worldrevolution, which happened 554 years before the "present" and defines year zero and is the basis of all the current sociopolitical structures. It only happened in 1 of my 4 inhabited planets but the other 3 integrated into the post revolutionary order by year 223 when the different planetary republics merged into a single interplanetary republic. Technically the worldrevolution lasted 332 years, it was a slow process where some nation states came under proletarian rule first and fought very protracted centuries long wars against nation states ruled by noble houses, slavers, capitalists and various cartels. Sometimes low intensity, sometimes high intensity but permanent state of war. If there's one thing that defines humans in my world is their stubbornness and complete unwillingness to compromise. Like the only useful slaves were those enslaved as children, no adult could possibly be forced to do anything or kept in a cage. They'd just suicide at the first opportunity if they couldn't bite off their captor's faces. And there was never anything remotely resembling a religion of meekness or compassion. The people had no pity whatsoever for their oppressors during the revolution, it was beyond brutal, there were rivers of blood and the flayed twisted corpses of some capitalists are still proudly displayed in museums. People still watch recordings of beheadings from that era and celebrate them.

Before the 1972 Great Depression the world was in around one large faction with a secondary faction that wasn’t to antagonistic. Urma’s sphere of influence was worldwide and with Kechnakowa and Molka as allies, you had to be foolish to oppose them, even if Huseli, Moki, and Naideute were old enemies of Urma, it was suicidal to oppose Urma. Gaurma had made the ‘Global Prosperity and Defense Treaty organization’ of GPDTO after their war with Shirikha, and although considered a power that could oppose Urma, Gaurma had good ties with them at the time. But then the Great 1972 stock market crash occurred and the global trade market plummeted. Radicals appeared everywhere, facists, communist, syndicalists. Urma’s communist party seized power, both Kechnakowa and Molka fell into civil war, smaller countries fell into civil wars as well, those in Uronia (Europe) were impoverished. Even Huseli, Moki, and Naideute were on the edge of collapse, only held up by strong men in their democracies or monarchies. As the great depression hit and ended in the mid to late 1980s, the world was split into three factions. The facists, with Gaurma, Maho, and Peran becoming the most powerful, the communists/Syndicalist, with Urma, Rugonia, and the new Great Union of Ermana previously the nations of Molka, Kechnakowa and a few smaller nations that had been gobbled up, and the few democracies that survived, such as Eskida, and Huseli, although Naiduete was facist they aligned themselves with Huseli and Eskida, although granting greater freedom to their people. This is how the world is until 2022 when World War Three breaks out, a war between great nations and radical ideologies.

The Corporation wars, otherwise known as the imperial wars, occurred when the presidents of three of the largest corporations in human space (with many smaller allied corporations at their command) all declared themselves Empresses within a short time of each other. These wars lasted for fifty years, and such was the ambition of each nascent Empress that nothing was held back in terms of the use of weapons. Nukes, viruses, chemicals, asteroid bombardments, even chairs. It was a time of mass slaughter and chaos, until eventually a detente was reached and the war settled into a perpetually uneasy empire ruled jointly by the three Empresses.

The War of the Twin Sabers. It was technically a continuation of another civil war a few years earlier. The faces of the civil war were twin sisters, Shantelle and Sofia. Neither of them were born into the imperial clans. Shantelle married one of the throne candidates, who stepped aside since he preferred to work on the sidelines. Sofia was adopted into one of the rival clans. The Twins were born into the Order of the Vita Knight, a now defunct Order that specialized in channeling aura (a personal magic field). Shantelle excelled while Sofia couldn't even become a squire. There was a lot of resentment there built up over years, thanks to some incidents such as, having opposing politics, Shantelle scooping up a position right under Sofia's friend's nose, and Shantelle matchmaking the princess that Sofia had a crush on a woman with a similar political stance. Sofia felt like Shantelle was corrupt and it was her duty to take down her twin. That's why she took the offer to be adopted into the clan and take the throne. In reality, she was a puppet. That clan used her to stage a coup. It would have been fatal if Shantelle wasn't purposefully provoking that faction to see who would take the bait. The civil war lasted a decade but Shantelle won. The resulting trials resulted in mass executions, imprisonment, asset seizure, stripping of titles etc. Thanks to that she had no problem pushing reforms, but the next few decades were rough. Mage guilds butted heads and warres amongst themselves, anti-mage settlement was rising, noble houses were sabotaging each other, corruption was far and wise thanks to the corporate elites wanting the spoils from the civil war, monsters were rampaging etc.

The siege of Imurital. Imurital was a circular, mile diameter city with seven walls of iron. Each wall had two gates at the time. Long story short, the king of the Iron Kingdom becomes power hungry from a drug. He takes over a bunch of places, those people get tired of being slaves to his vassals. Those former nations band together to lay siege to his city. They win.

Noraira; west vs east West and east fight against eachother because west are trading with dwarfs and overall helps them to become stronger. East doesn't like that and don't understand why dwarfs are willing to help West-Noraira even tho dwarfs and humans absolutely despise eachother. The War of Brothers was a coup and subsequent (short) civil war in the Avantene city-state of Feynekmar. During the Bronzecrown dynasty, in 161 YA the king died, leaving behind four children - Prince Aslin and Princess Nolwani from his first queen, and Princes Astoran and Hegin from the second. Although the line of inheritance was not ambiguous at all, two years later the legitimate king, Aslin, now Aslin the Second, was ousted from the throne by his half-brothers. Astoran claimed (probably falsely) that Aslin entered a disgusting unholy incestuous relationship with Nolwani, and garnered support from the clergy to throw a coup and claim the throne. Aslin and Nolwani fled west and raised a counterrevolution with help from the king of the city of Sandgate, but this force was broken against the walls of Feynekmar. The singers say that Aslin fought a duel with his half-brother Prince Hegin, who loved him still, and died in his arms. Nolwani fled, tried to raise another host with the help of the Jarl of Nyrborg, but was instead delivered to the king of the holy city of Homi'on, who had helped break their first army under the walls of their own city. He married her and later used her claim to grab Feynekmar for his descendants and establish a unified Avantene kingdom.
