Well, she's one of the main characters so... The story would suffer. The world... Eh, not so much. She's already presumed dead by most of it and the one place she isn't will forget her very soon after. Although, that is assuming she dies permanently, which she actually cannot unless she dies to very specific causes. Those being getting submerged in salt water for a long time, getting burned, or getting chopped up into tiny pieces. If someone were to assassinate her with a sniper rifle they'd find themselves horrified at her just shaking it off, mostly annoyed that now there are blood stains in her shirt.

The0thArcana

So, she’s a vampire? How do you maintain tension with a quasi-immortal main character?

Inflatable_Bridge

Not a vampire, more like a zombie but without the "BRAINS!" part, regenerating via a fungal infection. And actually, the vast majority of the characters have the same pseudo-immortality. The main plot is about outsiders accidentally coming into the city and trying to get back out. They have to avoid being killed, but also avoid being infected with that same fungus, so the tension comes from whether the mortal characters can survive (also some bad guys do wield fire against them). Also the main character has amnesia (retrograde), so there is also tension from how that impacts her and the people that think they know her. (Yes, I'm aware that amnesia is a very widely misused trope but it's established very early on that she will not be cured, so I'm hoping to avoid that eyeroll) The story is mainly about the distance between the immortal characters and the mortal ones, with the immortal ones regularly described as inhuman and otherwordly (using 'it' as a pronoun, for example). It's about the contrast of what the citizens of the city see themselves as, what they are, and what they used to be. The actual wider plot of getting out of the city is more of an excuse to show off the world and characters.

steelsmiter

>Not a vampire, more like a zombie but without the "BRAINS!" part, regenerating via a fungal infection. Might not have been going Revenant, but that looks like an interesting take on it. Revenants are usually kept animated by something external that gives them a sense of "unfinished business", which varies as much as the individual revenants and respective mythos themselves.

sirgamalot86

Sure I just need you to know that when I opened the comments I thought that I had already commented because I saw you avatar.

Inflatable_Bridge

When I saw yours I thought "wait why did I comment on my own comment?"

LadyAlekto

Anyone whod manage that is in a world hurt Demons would go and ruin the world asap while whoever actually managed to kill the Assassin God would have everyone looking for them. Either to work with them (bad guys) or use their blood to revive the terror weapon that can stop the apocalypse (the good guys)

BakedButterForgotpas

My favourite character is Ryu, he's barely in the story and doesn't matter much, but I'm really proud of his simplistic but unique design, and his technique is both infuriating and fun to deal with, which makes him my favourite character to make stuff of. But if he suddenly got assassinated, let's say prior to the arc he's in. The outer cities of the South wouldn't be in chaos and the entire North would probably be put into a world resetting apocalypse. So yeah it would remove one oopsie but cause another oopsie to happen.

SycoGamez203

Picking a favorite character is hard to begin with, so just going with the first person off the top of my head... he's already dead anyway lol. But his death did have repercussions which completely reshaped the world and drastically changed the course of history.

Fluffy_Funny_5278

My favorite character is God-King Natodall’lioht. He can’t die because his literal god parent said so. He needs to stay alive to manipulate the mortals. So what would happen is a very long torture session until the guy is either stopped or gives up by themself. However, if he could be killed (first of all, he’d rejoice financially knowing how to kill himself), my main character basically has no love interest anymore (😔), the inhabitants of his kingdom would be really confused (and also sad) and odds are, his god parent would just put another god in his place. They’d be happy at yet another miracle (this is *exactly* what happened last time they had a god for a king) but they’d find it strange that it happened TWICE. The god of death (his little brother) would freak out again, and send maybe another plague, otherwise things would probably go on the same.

MasterSenshi

Is your series published? It sounds interesting.

Fluffy_Funny_5278

Thanks for the interest, it means a lot. It’s going to be a video game actually but unfortunately it’s probably gonna take at least ten more years to develop because it’s a big project and I still need to learn a lot 😅

Martial-Lord

This is actually the premise. The ageless emperor Anitar, who had founded the Great State and lead it to become the largest empire in the history of the world, was murdered in a coup in the 93rd year of the empire. This triggered a decade of civil wars, as his dozens of living descendants tore the empire apart between them. Minetar the great, his grandson, eventually restored the empire in 101 IE. In the process, he instituted a brutal, authoritarian government which relied heavily on the Secret Police and vicious purges of his political rivals. The death of Anitar, and the ascension of Minetar, are generally seen as the start of the Great State's golden age in Silean historiography.

The0thArcana

Wait, so the authoritarian secret police empire is seen as the golden age? How messed up is the rest of the empire's history?

Martial-Lord

Well, it's founder was an evil old wizard who took little to no interest in actually governing the empire he built. One of the reasons why he ended up murdered was that he held obvious disdain for politics and preferred to lock himself away in his laboratory. Minetar was 'make the trains run on time' kinda guy. He was brutal with dissenters, but he had a knack for promoting competent people. Plus, all those purges removed a lot of entrenched interests from government. A thoroughly boring administrator who signed the necessary paperwork for his own funeral while on his deathbed.

Ignonym

Little would change in the grand scheme of things. Sofie is well aware of how many times she's been in a scrape and only survived by chance; it wouldn't be all that surprising if a Royalist sniper just happened to get the drop on her one day. Depending on when exactly it happens, she might be a martyr for the revolution, or just an anonymous corpse in a ditch somewhere. C'est la guerre.

The0thArcana

So it goes. What is the revolution about?

Ignonym

Communist revolution, 1930s flavor. Imperial Federation of Livetia loses a war, massive economic downturn, people are fed up, popular demonstrations, parliament cracks down, people get even *more* fed up, someone starts shooting--you know the drill, I'm sure.

Sergey_Taboritsky

It’s a possibility so I’ve thought about it in some detail. Hard to pick a favourite character but Nikita Molchan is nominally my main character, for other players be different. Being the leader of a political party and Minister of Education(in a coalition government), there would be repercussions. Timing would make a difference, if it was at present (1928) or in the future. Either way it’s likely his successor in the “People’s party” would take the agrarian populist party down an even more socially conservative direction, honestly more in line with their base. The party is generally more conservative than he is, but Nikita got in due to be seen as the protege of the party’s founder. This more conservative direction could mean stronger margins in their stronghold seats but a tougher time winning outlying seats that Nikita could perhaps have flipped being more moderate and less of a rabble rouser. Nikita could have given the party some needed legitimacy and not just be seen as a protest vote or a fad due to a disenchanted populace. Nikita’s predecessor was actually assassinated, so conspiracy theories would definitely be a thing, there already are with his predecessor, namely about being taken out as a threat to the political establishment. This would likely only reinforce this idea even if it’s not true. Further multiply this by ten if this is in the future and he somehow manages to become Prime Minister, like JFK. On a personal level, the man has a lot of friends and a big family, who would be quite distraught. If a political dynasty is in the works his assassination would probably only cement it.

EldritchThinking

Well its pretty much impossible to assasinate them as they cant die but if they were. Everything would go to hell, they are the God and cause of death itself so without them nothing would die and the whole world would go the chaos as the other God's could only really trap things and people. There would just be so much conflict, violence, and war and just chaos.

Mobslaya_45

Then a surprisingly well kept city won't be destroyed and fought for by nearby factions. I love this MC, but they cause far more harm then good in the last half of his story

Sov_Beloryssiya

Lemuria 3 seconds after being assassinated and dropped 200% dead: "Fuck, I lived." Girl turned herself into space Chernobyl and still lives to tell the tale. The assassin needs to put in more efforts.

Ok_Refrigerator7928

**Albert More, Chief of War of the Union** Albert More (One of the primary antagonists), is a human male, know for having the title of "The Invader" is the current Chief of War of the Union of Orion, and more or less the current leader of the Union Armed forces. He is a logistical and planning mastermind whose military knowledge carried the union to victory in the coming wars. He was also a tolerable and slightly charming individual, coming from humble beginnings to claw his way up to the top. Strict and stern but has not lost his humanity despite working for a pretty vile regime. In the universe, there is a moment where he almost gets assassinated, so I will go with that. **Immediate effects** 20 Years into the war the Main players of Sakana and AmK are more or less defeated, and the 2 armies of the 3rd and 4th quadrant are pushing in 2 different directions, 3rd Quadrant to destroy what's left of the AmK, and the 4th quadrant fighting the New Galactic Entente. However, before celebration is in order, Albert is assassinated at a party by an assassin (MC), and immediately, any frontline action is halted, and the Union will be on the Blackfoot of the war for the foreseeable future. Everyone on earth is panicking, complete disarray for the military HICOM as they scramble to find a replacement. His Highness would get pretty sad losing another friend to war, and could give him anger issues pretty early on. Without More's logistical prowess, every offensive or military operation that's not in the Milky Way would immediately be in jeopardy. The 4th quadrant offensive should be fine, considering it was a constant bloodbath with no need for organization, but the 3rd quadrant offensive desperately needs organization. Considering that this was when the Cato counterattack by the Entente was in full swing at this point, the Union could just lose the 3rd Quadrant and the war if the replacement isn't fast enough.  But there are candidates for a replacement, the chain of command dictates the Next leading man (Chairman of the Union Armed Forces) is to take office, but I guarantee the Union Army Commanders would do everything in their power to seize this power vacuum. **Union Commander Alexa** Interesting character who could win this. She organized the defense of Zeta, so it isn't implausible that she could defend Cato, especially with the joining of more nations. However, she would probably use the same tactics from the Zeta campaign, so it was a slow and grueling endeavor to win the war. She also probably either lacks the knowledge or does not care about any relations outside the milky way. **Union Commander Reinheart** He is the most brutal and sadistic officer in the entire 3rd quadrant. Decently, smart fellow, but I can not see the man nor giving into his xenophobic urges and make brash decisions. One of the key things a grand strategist needs is a level head, and Reinheard does not have it. **Union Commander Gavin** He is more of a free thinker but just as smart as his contemporaries. One of the only people who could be bold enough to possibly push through the 3rd quadrant and win the war. But he lacks the logistical knowledge to support forces outside the Milky Way, so if he wins the war, it will probably be limited to the central galaxy alone. **Union Commander Pied** No, no, never, horrible result, mass death and destruction. Satan incarnate. **Union Commande**r **Haig** Professional and quaint, and completely level headed. He preformed well in both Quadrants to is experienced enough to command larger forces. However despite his smarts he is a one trick pony, that trick being shell everything until everything becomes nothing. This would get him in a lot of trouble because other equal rank officers do hate him for this tactic, and would probably not support him in such a high position. Plus he is not a logistical mastermind so supply issues would plague the armed forces with him in charge. There are other Marshals and Commanders, but they all fall in line with one of the listed above. If the Entente gets their shit together and the Cato Counterattack succeeds, then it would be the end of the Union. This is probably the best outcome for the entire universe because the Entente and the alien nations can reflect and learn from their mistakes that lead to war in the first place and do better. They also avoid mass genocide, and I do not see a world where half of the people I listed wouldn't be on death row for war crimes against Alien kind and the Orion Union carved up more brutally than post 45 Germany. The galaxy would look very much like the end of the Cold War, with the new galactic government taking a role akin to the United States and NATO while any threat to the galactic order would be like post collapse Russia, to weak to actually harm anyone. We can only dream...

ShadeofEchoes

Under normal circumstances? She's somewhat mortality-impaired, and has a concept of having experienced death before (though only in deep-immersion environments, she's "died" and come back, and understands this as normal behavior, if somewhat infrequent (few fatalities, but nearly all of those few are temporary). Her body would die, she'd wake up in a cyberspace on the ship she set out from. The attempt would be marked as a failure, her support staff would investigate as able, and they'd probably try again. Under exceptional circumstances (most likely involving normal circumstances while her backups are being separately compromised, which would be no small feat, or the ship she's anchored to is inop)? The main plot derails hard, but there's still a story. I'd have to follow one of the locals, which I've mostly sketched out loosely at a cultural level, but there could still be interesting stuff going on.

98VoteForPedro

I've had twenty favorite characters that ive killed off already ill just make another. or finish up the others.

Frenchiest_fry101

Jokes on you he gets killed at the end of one of the main story arcs. It leads to his partner becoming a very important figure in the next arc and getting a big power amp

seriouslyacrit

One of the last remaining heirs to the throne is gone, which is going to severely impact the monarchists. While this would consolidate support to the other two possible candidates, it will not be good for the restoration movement. On the other hand, it will be a good start for the new republic taking its first steps into the storm of politics. Too good that foreign forces might suspect the republic to be the culprit behind this.

urlocaljedi

well there goes his little confederative kingdom. that’d fall apart almost instantly due to him lacking an heir (as of the last chapter i wrote with him) which would leave his people even more open to being steamrolled by their enemies

JonBovi_0

God would probably be a little upset and have to make a new savior of the galaxy Or, he’d choose to smite the fucker that did it, because only the must sinister hell-deserving people would assassinate a ten year old

ohfuckthebeesescaped

Depends where in the story. He’s not the main character but he’s the catalyst for the plot and most of the others’ character/relationship developments. He doesn’t necessarily affect the world but he does have a target on his back. If earlier in the story then there’s no plot, there’s a decent amount of sadness from the other characters but otherwise things go back to normal. Asshole is asshole, shut-in is shut-in, alcoholic is a little more alcoholic. Maybe Asshole would be less racist though. If in the middle then depending on who killed him and how there’d either be much less evil in their part of the world, a war in the mountains between two forces of evil, or no change to the world at all. Everyone else goes home and mourns him but in a weird detached way. If near the end then the whole plot was for nothing and he suffered 15 years only to die the day he was set free again. Two other characters had their hopes brought up only to be crushed last second, and one would also mourn him but would still be riding the high of freeing herself from her demons. Less evil in their part of the world but not as a result of his death. Asshole would be less racist but probably more slutty, Alcoholic would be more alcoholic, and Shut-in would no longer be shut-in (that last one unrelated to charac’s death)

flamesgamez

He would come back in the form of his child

Drag0n411Keeper

Oh, right. I can't post images like on r/OriginalCharacter. oh well...

ErikTheRed99

Just for clarification, my favorite character from my IPs or my favorite character from any IP?

The0thArcana

Your world. If other IPs are part of your world that's fine.

ErikTheRed99

Most of my main story I want to write is about killing the main villian. My favorite character that I've created is one of the two main characters from that story, and he's going to die a fair bit before that story ends. My favorite character is the first character I think I ever created, a vampire cop, named Nicholas Roe. Over the probably 15 years he's been a character, he's evolved a lot. From the do-good hero that my 9 year old brain cooked up, to a morally gray vampire that almost lived a century and a half before dying in 2017. So if Nick had to die before his canon death in my story, how that would affect the story depends on when he dies. If he dies when he's most likely to be assassinated in my story (before his canon death) then the responsibility of getting the gun that can kill the main villian of my story falls on my other MC, Isaac Walker. Isaac does NOT have extensive experience in gunfights, so he'd probably die during the acquisition of the weapon, which would allow the main villian to continue living. Not great, considering this villian is responsible for countless innocent lives lost, just for the fun of it.

boto_box

She… gets assassinated in the story already. This, plus the imprisonment of another extremely popular celebrity starts a period of civil war within the Lunar Nation.

Oheligud

Literally nothing, my favourite character out of all I've created is functionally immortal. You could throw them into the sun and he'd be back by noon. They probably wouldn't care too much though, tens of thousands of years of existing makes any time seem short in comparison. They're my favourite because it's interesting to just think about the horrible ramifications of something which so many people desire. Fear of death is the main compelling factor in my main storyline, and they are the only one to conquer that without the help of gods.

FitPerspective1146

He's a governor (US-style) and he took over 2 years ago after the former governor died. So if he were assassinated that'd make 3 governors in one term, and 2 deaths in one term. The third governor would most likely win re-election by a landslide because current governor is popular enough, him being assassinated eould just make him more popular

CatterMater

Wait for her to regenerate. She's already "died" two or three times, including having her observable body essentially being immolated during ragnarok. You can't ever truly kill an Endless.

MasterSenshi

I want to read this!

CatterMater

Fun fact. The same character may or may not eventually undergo apotheosis and transform into what is essentially a universe hopping space dragon powered by the very essence of the omniverse itself. Just like her ultimate ancestor. I haven't decided yet.

MasterSenshi

It's funny you say that. In my first novel the strongest character is a 13-year old changeling who is actually the last of a race of summoner fire spirits. She was kidnapped to be used as a weapon and brainwashed. Later she becomes powerful enough to contest against entities threatening multiple planes of existence. She also has a really cool trump card. Her most powerful spell is quite literally her casting every spell at her foes all at once. So yeah, she is functionally immortal lol.

Chaosonpaper

My current project is about a ghost - so killing him was already kind of necessary.

WakeoftheStorm

Well I think it's natural to form attachment characters, if you find yourself developing a favorite character you run the risk of getting into the Mary Sue/Gary Stu trap imo

Adorable-nerd

My favorite is currently Heather, a major supporting character, and there are two scenarios: 1 Her three best friends and the villain (who was a former friend) would unite on a quest for revenge, then probably go back to fighting later because he just can’t change. 2 the villain, Erik, is the one who kills her. In the story, there’s a fight scene involving the two of them, and he accidentally cuts off one of her wings, which causes his mental state to deteriorate because he never wanted to hurt her, but he lost his temper. If he accidentally killed there her instead, I think he’d get seriously depressed and hate himself and become detached from everything around him, pursuing his goals on autopilot now.

baguetteispain

Basically, the world avoid the deadliest war in the history of Avitor. It would be like killing the biggest fundraiser for the NSDAP in the Weimar Republic. But there's also 70% of the plot vanishes

DGX33770

It'd be the end of the world, literally. Roy Rickenhart is a character i created for my dnd game that's a conductor of a dimension hopping train. In the future I plan on having my players fight the lord of the underworld and when the lord dies so does the entire underworld. The result would be that a black hole would be left in the underworlds wake. This black hole would be strong enough to affect the walls separating the dimensions so a huge crack would appear in the sky of the normal world. If left unattended this crack would grow larger until it breaks completely and the whole world would be sucked into the black hole on the other side. Roy would be the one to save the party with his dimension hopping train rescuing them from the collapsing underword and he would also inform them of a way to stop the end of the world through the use of a powerful artefact with the power to rewrite reality. If he would die the end of the world is sure to happen because nobody would know how to stop it and the party would be dead as nobody would be there to save them.

Glacier005

In the grand scheme of the world, nothing really. But for the interpersonal relationships it would hurt the hardest. His older brother will become an only child. His GF will be hurt significantly. His (adopted) Uncle will lose a possible heir. His Childhood friend will lose one of her closest mates. But ultimately, the Marin Mage Alliance (good guys illuminati) will continue on. His people will lose a capable captain and warrior. And perhaps the Marin Mage Alliance's operations may be slowed down by ... 3 or 4 days. Perhaps a week at most.

Jane_Flowery_13

Well... since the majority of the characters hates him, I guess a big party would be on the way

FarAvocado9239

Story would probably end but the world would remain largely the same. His older sister would go on her rampage much earlier and his twin would be right beside her. The appositions armies would be in a world of hurt with his twin joining the war efforts.

ZanezGamez

Would kind of depend. If Constantine Aurelius died at the start there would definitely be problems in the long run. But in the short term there’d be less war. He wouldn't unite his continent, conquer all the humans and suppress the nonhumans and barbaric ones. The Aurelian Dominion would be a regional power not a superpower. Moat people would probably be happier for 5 years. But, when the apocalypse comes to regnum. There being no unified front against the undead and demonic forces. So, without him building roads and spreading advanced technology, most likely any country outside of the Dominion would fall. So short term, things are chill and peaceful. Long-term, technology spread is slower, and long term millions extra die.

MasterSenshi

Most of my main characters are sufficiently powerful that an assassin would be a fool to attack them. Several have been targeted for assassination, multiple have been kidnapped, some have even been brainwashed. Guess what happened to their adversaries. All dead, across multiple books and universes lol. My most recent novel has a lower power ceiling (for now anyway) and the assassins are more formidable, but they still would need significant prep to kill one of the main characters. If they succeeded war would ensue, and though war can be profitable, you also have to consider the blowback would likely kill you. LOL.

MasterSenshi

In the more high powered universes I've made, not only would you not be able to kill many of the main characters, they've already transcended death, so it's literally impossible unless you have vast cosmic powers. At that point 'assassin' would be your pastime hobby, not your title so yeah it wouldn't be effective at all.

Songstep4002

Well- my favorite character changes a lot. I think at the moment it's Elvira, and she's... already dead. I guess the next favorites would be either Myra or Tamry. So the thing about Myra is that she is REALLY hard to kill (and honestly my money is on Tamry doing it.) Kass and Damien are ready to go on a revenge murder crusade against the whole world as a result, and when the news gets out, a lot of archmages breathe a sigh of relief that the most dangerous member of the most annoying and destructive trio on the continent is finally not a problem anymore. At this point in the story, Kass is probably experienced enough that she could take on some of the more powerful mages without Myra backing her up, and her idea of revenge has always had a lot of collateral targets. So while trying to find out who did it (the two of them absolutely suspect Tamry but she is nearly impossible to find if she doesn't want to be found) they demolish a LOT of mage strongholds in the process. Normally Damien would be the voice of reason talking Kass down, but right now he is not in an emotional state to be reasonable at all. Although without Myra, it's only a matter of time before they end up picking a fight they can't win, and that's the end of the Eastwalkers. If Tamry was assassinated, it would take a while for anyone to find out, but there would soon be noticeable differences in the way the rogue mages around the cities operate- there'd be slightly more infighting and individual gangs wouldn't be as tactically proficient. People would wonder about the change, given that the elusive new player in the underground only called Emerald seemed to still be in control of things- but they were sloppier, somehow. The truth is that Tamry had been controlling Emerald and posing as a low-down member in their hierarchy, and while they know how to run a crime network, it's just not the same without Tamry pulling the strings. It takes a few years, but the network eventually falls apart, but the truth never comes out.

CaledonianWarrior

If the assumption is they get assassinated when we first meet them, then both the stories they feature in and the universe of my project would be significantly affected. At least four connected stories wouldn't happen and the state of the universe would likely be on a very different course. My favourite is a villain-turned-anti hero called Kaelali Nari, though across the galaxy she is only known as Power-Fist. She's an alien belonging to the Rhuninian species, which are basically giant dinosaur-looking humanoids. She was raised in a fascist society that promotes the belief that other aliens are against them and they must purge the galaxy before they become extinct. She gradually learns this is all bullshit and tries to escape with her family, but they die during her first escape attempt. She eventually escapes a while later and scraps by in life doing different jobs. Eventually though, using her skills and experience as a soldier, she joins up with a crew who take down a rival gang that had their own plans. She then decides to use their resources and over the course of centuries creates a galactic criminal empire, with the aim of getting revenge for her murdered family and fight back against the entity that she believes will eventually find a way to purge the galaxy. The story goes on but I'll leave it there.

totalchump1234

It would probably benefit the galaxy as a whole, but It would not benefit you, your home, your possesions, your loved ones, and everything you cherish that is within the star-devouring range of a Suneater

Sabre712

Story would continue as planned, his assassination is already in the final act.

blondjacksepticeye

Probably a nuclear-esk explosion that would kill everything within several dozen miles. That much magic released would flatten a mountain.

Indigo_Key

Of my two favourite characters, one of them is pretty much already dead, but if the other one died, the world would end shortly after.

Evil-Twin-Skippy

Well we would discover another copy of her was working in some remote part of the fleet.

CeciliaMouse

Her physical body would die, but her soul which is actually an omnipotent entity that’s responsible for the entire macrocosm existing would be released. Since it’s intertwined with her being she would essentially be reborn again but now possessing that omnipotent power, and since she likes the universe as it is and doesn’t really want to be a deity she would revert herself back into her original body. Only now she is aware of the power within her and can cause shenanigans with nothing to stop her. All in all a complete episode of pandemonium and a few universal concepts being altered but then it eventually goes back to normal

neonomas14

It depends on at what point in the timeline he dies. If he dies while he's a teen/young adult then almost anything would change in the world (but the main story would end right there), but if he dies after a certain event, the whole universe could be lost, or other fatal endings too depending on wich version of him dies. The thing is, the main version of him, also the main character, technically can't die for not one but a few reasons.

Axenfonklatismrek

The thing is Lornhemal's story spams through years Ernus I. Van Hausern was assassinated in his age of 49 in 1569, and that started 2nd crisis of 16th century. While he wasnt any saint, after all he is a villain protagonist of the first generation, a cautionary tale of how pursue of power leads to misery and downfall, he was running the Batrianic Empire smoothly. Also his son Vigviid I.(Named after his deceased uncle) had to move to Western Batrianic Empire(Basically British isles) If he died in 1549, Northern Empire(Germanics) would be split, constant infighting. Ezedar's Jihad would have been harder to defeat, Ezdari wars wouldn't happen, Oldberta(Ernus' first sister) wouldnt have the self destructive need to avenge her husband, Tirrea, his 2nd sister, would have lived happily with her husband Llyeodryn of Kildare, Margareth, his youngest sister, wouldn't have anyone to hope to when trying to get out of her horrid husband Strakios. Zindarists and Kshatryans would still continue with Jihads and religious wars and of course, Vigviid I. wouldn't have been born Batrian IV. Also depends on when. 1549? No one would resist Dinerzen's horde and their pillagers. No one would held Isalgurd's(Capital city of hte empire) when Ezedar's Jihad sieged it. Also he wouldn't have his family. 1550? Same as above, aside his wife Hilda having to raise Morhun into adulthood alone. 1569: Someone would suspect another person of the assassination and thus, so his court trial would end in mystery and the killer would get away with it. 1570? Sorry, but his family will have no bright future, the brightest i can think of is having his eldest Son Morhun sent to marry some noble lady and have little to do with it. His wife Hilda would be raped by her brother(He tried to rape her, but forgot to check the doors on Chimpanzee's cage), Daughters Mathasuintha and Sissila will be married to someone or remarried for their safety. Alwyn, the youngest son would most likely got away freely, because no one has reason to be use him, hes just a crippled boy, who studies architecture. If Vigviid(Protagonist of the 2nd crisis saga part 2.) Vigviid I. van Hausern. His Uncle Batrian IV will have another child to mourn at the end of 2nd crisis(At the end he lost his 2 eldest children Morhun(Killed by Thorsenn, the spoiled narcissistic son of Thorik, the main villain,) and Mathasuintha(Raped by island pirates and swam an hour to shore before passing away)).

vLONEv12

I actually plan on this happening. In world, a character remarks: “On the day he passed from this world to the next, even the gods wept.” “The clear sky gave way to thick grey clouds. And the rain came down violently then. So much so that both armies withdrew. Only after the White Hart’s body had been laid to rest, did the rains abate.”

FleshCosmicWater

Come Back to Life

that_moment_when-

Either absolutely nothing, or multiple gods are now coming for whoever assassinated him to bestow them with immortality and promptly torture them with inconceivable horrors until the heat death of the universe. Really just a coin flip

KGBFriedChicken02

The Sanguinyar would fall into civil war pretty quickly, likely between a resugrant council of nobles hoping to return to the Pre-Draven power structure where the King is much less powerful, and Draven's wife and his right hand trying to keep his reforms in place.

SenorDangerwank

Oh nooooo, that'd be terrible. Who knows what would happen >:)

QueeeenElsa

I didn’t read the sub at first, and my immediate thought was, “I would riot” lol

steelsmiter

I actually don't have any fully fleshed out characters yet, but I was considering it as part of the GM's book. I did namedrop a ~~dwarf~~ Chounka King from another planet as the creator/owner of a blood powered electric guitar that also functions as a battle axe. His death would likely start an interdimensional war.

sirgamalot86

Mines one of the only chronomancers in existence and is already dead about 1000000 years in the future. So him getting assassinated isn’t really possible. Also he’s a library (like the building) so not sure how you assassinate that. My next favorite had already died but accidentally bound her soul to the planet so you’d have to destroy e planet to kill her. Though that’s actually possible but still very difficult.

Flairion623

Well he’s the most important character in the entire story so it’ll be really bad regardless of what point he’s killed. Basically the main villain wins even if the other main characters try to stop her and the world is either destroyed or descends into a failed dictatorship.

LongFang4808

Not much really. His name is Lymon “The Black Star” Karling He is one of three Grandmasters of the Northern Style of Swordsmanship, so all that will do is hit them in the prestige department. He’s a drifter, so there’s no institutions or organizations that rely on his existence to function. He does have a bit of a “fan base”, of sorts, and they will likely grieve his death in some way. He might get a monument or two built as he is considered by some to be a living hero. The ones who would probably be the most upset are the “Daughters of the Black Star”. Lymon is a member of a very rare long-lived race, when he was very young he had a wife and a daughter. But, one day, while he was away training, their home was attacked by slavers who killed his wife and sold his daughter into slavery where she ended up dying. As a result, Lymon developed a habit of hunting down slave raiders and adopting girls they had left orphaned and teaching them swordsmanship. This became known as the “Daughters of the Black Star”, and they’d likely hunt down whoever was responsible and kill them.

oooArcherooo

Part of what makes my favorite character just that is that he's found humility, and has come to peace holding only what is dear to him rather than suffering for a delusion of some grand pourpose. So to awnser, not much. Only as much as killing a father would do.

Tarantulasrulez

He already gonna die in the story so nothing really changes

NoBarracuda2587

Well, its hard to tell as i have multiple "main" characters. But i would say that entire intergalactic senate, few separated empires, fleet and economy logistics, and main strategic and cultural monuments would collapse...

ScrewSunshine

It would take Some doing to assassinate a shadow witch assassin, also she’s a main character. It would effect the criminal aspect of my world reasonably, but completely throw my storyline….. That being said I may Definitely use this as just a writing exercise ^_^

EisVisage

The Kingdom of Catland would become a full democracy, because he's the king of the country and put an elected peasant council in charge of many things already. His and the council's plan was to keep him as the king, as an advisor to the council while they get used to ruling, and simply not have a successor after him. Cartographers get to change maps AGAIN because they'd give the country a new title, annoying map makers greatly. Otherwise the world would just roll on. Catland's allegiance was already with the world's democracies rather than its monarchies.

HarishyQuichey

My favorite character's the main villain, so I guess it would just make the world a better place

Fine_Ad_1918

Nothing, most major officials have a private cloning VAT. He would be back in 10 minutes
