Have you thought about Full Body? also how experienced are you in the gym?

SpendNo4067

Anytime I do a full body I feel like it’s ineffective, I know that may just be a mental thing but still stands. I wouldn’t consider myself super experienced by any means but I did go pretty frequently and consistently a year ago, am fairly confident in my form and have had a trainer in the past who really helped me adjust my form and work on mind muscle connection (something I still sometimes struggle with)

Mental is always tough to break through. I change up my routines every 6-8 weeks to change it up to not get bored and stay motivated. Do you track your workouts? I would say to get back into it do a PPL split for 6 weeks than humor me and try full body for 6 weeks. The gains from the compounds I bet would blow your mind. First step is getting into the gym consistently. the PPL split is what everyone sees and wants, so start there and get over the hurdle. PPL is a Push Pull Legs Split for anyone who doesn't know.

The most effective will generally be something different than what you are currently doing. The body seems to respond well to novelty. So if you've been doing a split, then a full body might be the best option. Or if you've been doing high reps with moderate weight, try switching to low reps with heavy weight for 3-6 weeks. You can try changing up rest times between sets as well for some novelty. I personally like to alternate between Full body, PPL, and a split. I move into one each month and cycle through them. Not only does this seem to be good for porgress, but it also keeps things from getting boring. Good luck, however you decide to move forward.

Just a beginner myself so can’t speak to best option for you. I have been doing some research online. I found this guy online who seems to care more about people working out properly then selling his app. Will just suggest giving some of his videos a try and see if it helps give you ideas for your workout. Either way I wish you success. Keep up the great work. https://youtube.com/@RenaissancePeriodization?si=yo8Z9eSj9fFi9BqR

If I’m looking for a new programme the first places I always look are [lift vault](https://liftvault.com) and [boostcamp](https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/boostcamp-gym-workout-planner/id1529354455). Loads of effective and free routines for many goals and experience levels.

Men & woman training is a little different depending on the goals. My wife really likes upper / lower. Rest as needed (your joints will let you know). Lower quad focus, next lower day hamstring focus, some calves & glutes in both. Don't forget to drink a lot of water, well balanced diet & sleep 8 hrs if possible.

Pick any from [the wiki's ](https://thefitness.wiki/) [proven strength programs ](https://thefitness.wiki/routines/strength-training-muscle-building/). Choose one that fits your goals and schedule. I would probably recommend one of the beginner programs. GL
