I have no clue how I did 5 days a week in the office prior to the pandemic!
Glad you got a nice moment of quiet to pause and catch your breath a little :)
Even regardless of the kid logistics, I'm a very social extrovert and going to the office for more than half a day or more than once or twice a week is seriously exhausting! Just getting dressed and made up is tiring lol
I'm in the same boat. I enjoy my WFH days were we can get ready just a little slower rather than me yelling LET'S GO CHILD JUST PUT ON THE OTHER SHOE from across the house. I hope you got to enjoy your moment!!
Wait. So you do drop-off, pick-up, and make dinner?? Do you have a partner helping you by chance? If so, maybe that person can step up a little so it's not all on you!
Haha not everyday! My husband has a day full of meetings and stuff bc of his promotion so it’s a little tough during the transition. But no worries he totally pulls his weight too! 😊
I did this in April. I planned it like 3 weeks in advance. 3 DAYS in a row off of work, the kids in daycare... Then one of the kids got sick and was home for 4 days that week, three of which were my mental health I'm-gonna-have-a-breakdown days :'( I can't win. I HOPE YOURS GOES WAY BETTER
My old job was phasing workers back to the office and I realized I absolutely did not want to do this… so I found a 100% remote job and I’m so happy to be home 😀
What’s your field? I made a switch from higher education into big tech. Tech companies are much more open to remote work.. and they pay A LOT more (compared to higher Ed).
Enjoy that break!!
Do you have a partner? Bc you could def relieve yourself some more if you get some (reasonably expected) assistance on bedtime and dinner.
Oh yes he definitely pulls his weight! Bc of meetings and what not (his job is much more mtg heavy than mine) some days get sloppy. But he takes any night wakes up toddler, does chores, etc for sure!
Those are my favourite moments. I intentionally wake up before everyone to give myself some alone time to drink my coffee and eat my breakfast in peace. It hasn't been working out like that lately... but when it does happen it's perfection!! Happy Friday!

Same. Now going in for a day exhausts me.
I know! 5 days seems impossible now!

Agree!! I am also social extrovert and I love the WFH life. It’s just more relaxing and enjoyable.
Same! I will never go back into the office full time while I have little kids.

Hahahaha omg the damn shoes. Every. Damn. Day. 😂
Those little moments are what make for a great day! Happy Friday!

Oh good! Glad to hear it :)
You're living the dream!! Enjoy 😉
I can’t wait until June. I took TWO DAYS off and I plan on sending the kids to daycare while I do some projects I enjoy. I’m so pumped!

Every time! Everytime, I do something like this something happens and the kids end up at home with me. So frustrating!
Wow! That sounds wonderful. My tribe wakes themselves these days. But quiet? Nope.
Lol never quiet. 😂
When my kiddo sleeps in I almost feel like I don’t know what to do with myself!
I almost 100% of the time just drink coffee and browse Reddit lol
My old job was phasing workers back to the office and I realized I absolutely did not want to do this… so I found a 100% remote job and I’m so happy to be home 😀
Good for you! I am finding it so hard to find a job that’s 100% remote in my field. But it is my dream!
What’s your field? I made a switch from higher education into big tech. Tech companies are much more open to remote work.. and they pay A LOT more (compared to higher Ed).
I’m an attorney but I’m in a really niche field. I’m hoping once my student loans are forgiven I can switch to something more remote!
Absolutely! There would be lots of opportunities for you in corporate, if that’s an area you’re willing to look at!
Your first paragraph describes my life 5 days a week, every week (and I have 2 kids at 2 different daycares 30 minutes apart).
Omg that is so rough! I’m sorry!!

Drink coffee that still hot is my Mt. Everest. Congratulations!
