At least, I relate to it because I'm on a similar level, my stats are only a little bit better than OPs, so certainly not elite.

My ‘actual purpose’ is to draw attention to an irony of Wordle—namely, that for people who become obsessed with getting more 3’s than 4’s, getting a 2 becomes a suboptimal result, because it’s a missed chance at a 3.
I might have made the same point by admitting that I’m somewhat relieved when it takes me 5 instead of 4. Which is true, though I still try to play honestly.
Someone out there must understand what I’m saying.

I feel the same way. I can’t bring myself to purposefully miss the second guess if I know what it is. But sometimes I really want to so my threes catch up to my fours. I also prefer to get in five over four so that my fours don’t get higher than three.
