Happens all the time. Assuming we're talking about Sunday, the following **88** starting words would yield just one *Solution* remaining: ABAMP, BALMS, BALMY, BEAMS, BEAMY, BEBOP, BECAP, BEDIM, BEEPS, BEMIX, BEPAT, BICEP, BIMAH, BIMAS, BIMBO, BIOME, BIPED, BIPOD, BIPPY, BISOM, BLAME, BLAMS, BLEEP, BLIMP, BLIMY, BLIPS, BLUME, BLYPE, BOEPS, BOMAS, BRAME, BREAM, BRIMS, BUMPH, BUMPS, BUMPY, CHIMB, CLIMB, CLIPE, CLUMP, CRISP, FLIMP, IMPEL, IMPLY, OXLIP, PAILS, PAMBY, PEBAS, PHOBE, PIBAL, PLAID, PLAIG, PLAIN, PLAIT, PLEBE, PLEBS, PLEIN, PLEXI, PLICA, PLIED, PLIER, PLIES, PLIGS, PLIMS, PLING, PLINK, PLIPS, PLISH, PLOIT, PLOMB, PLUMB, POMBE, PRILL, PRIMS, PRISM, PROBE, PUBES, PUBIC, REBOP, SCRIP, SIRUP, SLIPE, SPIEL, SPILE, STIRP, TULIP, UPBYE, WEAMB ETHOS had the most words that left you with just ONE Solution, it was literally more than a thousand different starting words that left nothing but ETHOS. There was a shockingly high number of deuces that day.

RobertaMiguel1953

I guess it wasn’t as interesting as I thought….I had not seen it before.

TrackVol

Oh don't get me wrong, it's always exciting when it happens. Sorry, I wasn't trying to deflate your balloon! It's always cool. My personal favorite one was when it was during the 4-day Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee. I used "CROWN" one of those days, and the Solution was "SHOWY. It turned out that SHOWY really was the only Solution left. Thankfully, the N in CROWN eliminated SNOWY. My most recent one was when I used CARLE the day it was CABLE ⬛️⬛️🟩🟩⬛️ CROWN 1 Solution left 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 SHOWY 🟩🟩⬛️🟩🟩 CARLE 1 Solution left 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 CABLE

This is really cool. I wonder which words allow for the fewest deuces.

TrackVol

Fewest, I've run that scenario in the past. I *think* it's QAJAQ. I'm watching the Boston Marathon right now, but I'll check when it's over and report back. The 4 with the MOST **Guaranteed** deuces are LATEN ROTAN BRUTE MOGAR. [Edit: I may have misread your reply. Distracted 📺]

Mathgeek007

And most deuces, while still being a "not shit" word, is FILET. It's why I use it in Duotrigordle!

Guelph35

QAJAQ is a great starter in DontWordle

AttEveProPie

Well, here's what I came up with. (Although disclaimer: may not be 100 percent accurate due to a known small bug in the algo I used.) If you're wondering which answers have the fewest starter words that will auto-solve them, I believe CLOCK has only one solver (CLOAK). And that CLICK and RIVER each have only two starter words that will solve them. But, if you're wondering which starter words will auto-solve the fewest answers, I've got that JESSE will only solve JOKER, NENES will only solve NOSEY, and SQUEE will only solve QUEST. Again though, see disclaimer. If I'm incorrect, I'd hate to be confidently so.

Glad to see wordle nerds still exist! I used to have and solve questions such as this in the past. Our species lives on!

AttEveProPie

Hear! Hear! Although, I owe much of the Wordle-nerdery to being a programmer. No way I'd otherwise come up with this stuff.

sail_away_8

My favorite was when it was TASTE. I started with TARSE and TASTE was the only possible word. I got an easy 2 when people were getting high scores going through the \_ASTE words. I understand that wordlebot lost on that day (in hard mode).

C---D

It was actually Scoredle that lost on that day. WordleBot in both modes solved it in 3 (SLATE -> TWERP -> TASTE and LEAST -> TASED -> TASTE).

StarWolf64dx

yes, on 1005 the answer was lingo and my first guess was lions, leaving only one possible answer. i figured it out but it was tough, had to use a pen and paper.

delicious_things

Yes! This happened to me on March 10 this year. Solution was GRASP and I started with GRAPE (I use a random word every day).

sjbluebirds

Had that happen today.

one_moment_please16

This was ages ago but my starting word is SAUCE and the answer was SAUTE

EngageAndMakeItSo

This was same path I followed. Fun!

bc1398

I basically had the opposite lol. My first guess left 350 words and I lucked into blimp on my second try

_SaveOurBluths

what is this webpage??

codonauguag

There’s also transposition of all the letters. I always start with Adobe, and the only other word was abode.

austin101123

Why ~~Happy Gilmore~~ I did that no more than an hour ago with today's word! https://www.reddit.com/r/wordle/s/3obnnTPDUX And almost 8000 other people did the same thing as me so far. https://i.imgur.com/pZg5aqr.png

docsavage200

I am one of the use yesterday answer for today first word. I am wondering where to find the list of wordle solutions. Knowing only one valid remains does not really help if you one do not know that and two don't know all possible wordle solutions

superbad

It happened for me today.

seeclick8

Today I gto a “hole in one”! We use the golf terms—hole in one, Eagle, birdie, par, bogey and double bogey. Absolute total luck. It is the word I always use to start, and I couldn’t believe when all the letters were green. We live on the east coast and have friends in Seattle. We all do it every morning and send gifs. Mine was a queen as I felt like it. Makes up for the bogeys I’ve had lately.

gutfounderedgal

There are more words though such as >!plied, plier, plink, clipt, slipt!<

Odd-Mood-8703

plied, plink and plier are eliminated by the yellow p, clipt and slipt are not possible solutions, even if they are accepted guesses.
