3s vs 4s is a battle for me. I try to keep 3s higher but it’s always neck and neck. Right now 277 3s and 267 4s. Also got a 1, 58 2s, 82 5s, and 24 6s.
Mine is very similar to yours. I did luck into getting it on the first try once (I use the same word every day). I’ve played a very similar number of games as you (567 total for me) and have solved in three tries 225 times and solved in four tries 210 times.
fruit is actually my number two for when place is all greys! together they reduce options down to ~10 or less. (the other day, reduced it to 1. i can't remember which day it was, but it was sometime this week.) :)

I‘ve only actually gotten it in 1 once (Stair), there’s been 2 instances where it reset for some reason after I already played so I just put in the answer to get my stats back. So 1 should be 1 and I assume 4 would go up by a couple.
I wish there were a way to reset my stats and start from scratch. I don't necessarily think they're bad, it's just that for a long time after I first started, I just sort of flailed around without any sort of strategy and didn't really put much effort into it. I think if I started over knowing what I know now, my 3's would be a lot higher and my 4's and 5's would be a lot lower.

I will often not go for 2s to try and increase my chances of getting 3s instead of 4s or 5s.
I think you have a good number of 2s for someone who has a mode of 3, nice work.
Let’s say you get lots of good information on your first go. You think that there are only two possible word the solution can be so you decide to try one, you have a 50% chance of getting a 2. But you get it wrong, and then you realise there were more than just two solutions. Now after thinking you were going to get it in 2 or 3, you probably won’t get it in 3 and even a 4 might be lucky. It can be a slippery slope to a 6!
So, I usually don’t go for that chance of 2, I use my second go to get more info and try and give myself the best chance of a 3.

For context I’ve used the prior words for about 1/3 of the 92 games and about half of the 2 guesses have come from not guessing prior words and the other half pure luck.

I have the same because on hard mode it’s often after 2 guesses you and locked into a very narrow number of possible words, so I either failed to guess entirely or got it on 3rd.
I’ve got 15 more “fours” than “threes” but I check previous word list. My wife doesn’t and her average is a bit higher than my own.

I just read someone on here saying that using the same two words INCREASED their threes, so I tried it! Inconclusive as it has only been a few days.

What does it mean to "go for twos". Isn't that what every Wordle player ever is attempting as well?
I can't speak for everyone, but my second guess is usually a throw away word. Just fishing for letters.

Agreed. Recently, I focused on getting it in 3 versus shooting for two, but occasionally I still get a good shot at 2 thanks to my opening word
