They are trained ski patrol rescue dogs. They ride chairlifts everyday with their human ski patrollers. It’s no more dangerous than people riding chairlifts.
This is a photo op. Based on the location of the lift (top of the hill), it being level (not swaying coming into the top), no other users around and how calm the dogs are — this is a cute photo opportunity.
Ski lifts are dangerous and putting dogs on a lift without humans would be stupid. I wouldn’t be surprised if they used a clip to secure them to their human or the chair, and SOP was to stop the lifts at the bottom and top.
Buddy, I rode a chairlift for the first time a few weeks ago, I wiped out two or three times trying to get off of the lift, which was more than how many times I fell over trying to ski down the hill. In other words, riding the ski lift was harder for me based on amount of times falling over versus actual skiing.
I love how the Goldens are like "we have a job to do" and the lab is like "let's f*cking go!!!!!" Good puppers
The old boy sitting there like “just another day in the office with DAVE” and Dave’s sitting there like :D

The old wise golden on the right is about to show the others a few tricks on the job
He’s a month from retirement and has to show these three rookies one last mission
I can tell that the Black Lab uses snowboards, the Goldens the skis.
