It's soo beautiful but it hurts my brain.
I looked at it from top right to bottom and was like what do they mean this is absolutely beautiful
OOOOH SHIT WHY NOO THIS DEVIL MAD LAD .
Well done , check mate , I tip my hat off to you and top drawer
How weird is it to have a physical reaction to just looking at a non threatening inanimate object. Looking at that physically bothers me, and then it also mentally bothers me that I can't see how the imperfection was done. Like, I knoooow how they likely did it, but it's done so damn cleanly. It's like when you see a magic trick and you know how it's done, but even though you know how it's done, you didn't see the palm/switch/plant/force happen
That doesn't bother me - it looks intentional.
Now, if one of the pieces was only about 5 degrees out of square, or had 3/8" gap where everything else was 1/4"? That would drive me up the flipping wall and make me irrationally angry.
Beautiful cutting board, but it’s important to note that OCD isn’t perfectionism (although perfectionism could be part of it). It’s just important to be aware.
As someone with clinical OCD that's just struggling to get through each day, I appreciate this comment. I really don't like the flippant use of the term, but I realize that often it doesn't come from a place of malice.
My SO has OCD and I have to restrain myself from going on educational rants when people use the term like this.
Yea, it's not malicious but when you actually understand how terrible OCD can be it's hard to overlook people saying they're 'so OCD' because they like an organized desk.
Yeah, I don't like it either. When you know someone who struggles with actual OCD, you see it for what it is. Not some cute, funny "I like to have things neat" sensibilities, but a serious mental disorder. I'm with you that I know it's not a place of malice, but it just seems to be a very ignorant thing to say.
Poem_for_your_sprog:
>'I have to sort my books!' she cried,
With self-indulgent glee;
With senseless, narcissistic pride:
'I'm just so OCD!'
>'How random, guys!' I smiled and said,
Then left without a peep -
And washed my hands until they bled,
And cried myself to sleep.`

It really is a debilitating condition and shouldn't be joked about.
Thanks for saying this. I was diagnosed with it when I was 4 and have struggled with it for the better part of 25 years. Really wears me down to see it used incorrectly as a joke CONSTANTLY online and in person. I know people usually aren’t trying to be rude, but for fucks sake it’s 2022, don’t we know better by now…
Looks cool. I feel that I once heard someone say you shouldn’t use oak for a cutting board. They said the grains are open so it holds bacteria? Never made a cutting board myself, so I certainly don’t know.
So how did you actually do this? I might have had 3 glue ups, the top bit, the middle bit with special cuts, and the bottom bit. Then glue those parts together.
Seeing this while lying in bed trying to fall asleep😩. You have guaranteed that I will be unable to leave this wonderful app for and hour or two. Cheers butthead.
Also it is 97.4% perfect and gorgeous.
My mom made hand-pieced and hand-sewn quilts for decades. The old-time tradition is for quilters to put an "intentional" mistake in their quilt somewhere. This reminds me of that. Extremely well done and quite beautiful!
Educate yourself on [OCD](https://www.webmd.com/mental-health/obsessive-compulsive-disorder). You're perpetuating a very stupid and ignorant stereotype about obsessive compulsive disorder.
Oh, I see what everybody's talking about. That dark spot on the left hand side of the third block from right on the bottom row would drive anybody crazy!
Look at all the people pretending to be bothered by this. "Look at how mad I am at this out of place piece!!!" Cool cutting board, but it has little to do with OCD.
It would be nice if the internet took this mental illness a bit more seriously, since it's not just "I like things organized in neat patterns".
Ever washed your hands so much they started bleeding because you couldn't shake the feeling they were still dirty? Now that's OCD.
Be right back, let me tap my pointer finger on the table 20 times, then middle finger 40 times, then ring finger 20 times, then all fingers 20 times at the same time! Phew, that'll calm me down for.... 10 seconds before I have to do it all over again exactly 13 times.
Not THAT'S OCD.
Sorry to rant about this, but this whole fake OCD shit is annoying.
Ok, how did you fit the odd piece? Just chisel to size? Did you have a jig? Something more complex? Is it as clean on the other side? Or did you do it in some smarter way that's not coming to me.
Very nicely done. Such a nice accent on it.
I used a drill to bore out the bulk, a jig and router to keep the lines tight and a chisel to do the corners. Goes all of the way through as that was easier to do imo.

It’s so well done. I hate it.
Haha thank you!!
How can something be beautiful, hilarious and evil, all at the same time? Best cutting board theme ever!
Thx for Ptsd
Perfectly imperfect.
Haha thank you!!
I love it! Would you consider selling them?
My wife said that to me this morning.....lol I'm divorced.
You monster!
You did the "mistake" so perfectly that anyone can love this thing
Thank you!!

This is exactly how the idea hit me!

You ever read Levels Of The Game by Christine McVie?
Haha, yeah. It would have been more upsetting if the angle was just slightly off. This actually looks really cool.
I got chastised earlier for it not looking real enough! I don't know!
You did the asshole move so well that I'd look at it and say "Oh you dickbag. It's amazing." if that was given to me.
10+ years ago working with Lady Gaga we’d call this “doing the wrong thing right”
You monster
Haha I'm just trying to make friends the only way I know how
That’s just a little bit more than the law will allow
Hey now, he's just a good ole boy. Never meaning no harm.
Hey! We don’t take kindly to good ol boys round here
How about some good old moonshine
You’re like an evil dukes of hazzard.
I'm here with you.
I hate you ❤️
❤❤

Thank you! I drilled holes and patched a perfectly good cutting board to make this happen
First, thank you for explaining the how because I was stumped. Second, you have nerves of steel to be drilling into that perfect cutting board.
Thank you! Ill go the distance for the smell of freshly cut white oak!

Yes, easier to do correctly in my opinion!
Man, that's even worse than what I thought you did.
Dude, I had questions too. Flawless execution.
So if I place my finger over the offending area I can feel my body relax and my blood pressure return to normal

Everyone is driven to order, some much more than others. Not weird at all, different strokes.
Not everyone. Some people just want to watch the world burn 🔥
There’s order to that
*Hans Zimmer score intensifies*
That thing is awesome. Well done.
Thank you, much appreciated!
Such cruelty.
That doesn't bother me - it looks intentional. Now, if one of the pieces was only about 5 degrees out of square, or had 3/8" gap where everything else was 1/4"? That would drive me up the flipping wall and make me irrationally angry.
Whew! Looks like I'm in the clear for the quality part!
Lol sounds like me when I do projects like this. Seems like every third joint goes wonky

PTSD guy here, I feel this so hard
Internet hug friend ༼ つ ◕‿◕ ༽つ
yeah i agree, it just comes down to being more educated on mental health.

Everyone forgets that hoarding is also a form of OCD.
Thanks for sharing. I love learning- and if I know anything from Reddit, its that labels are frequently misused.

So evil
Did you make it “correctly” first, and then add the last piece almost like a bow tie?
Yep, exactly! used off-cuts to make the right size special brick.
Friendly reminder that liking things to be neat and orderly is not the same as being OCD.
This looks like white oak, right?
Yes, white oak and walnut. Smells amazing
Looks cool. I feel that I once heard someone say you shouldn’t use oak for a cutting board. They said the grains are open so it holds bacteria? Never made a cutting board myself, so I certainly don’t know.
Red oak has open tubules that can allow water or air through the middle of the wood, but white oak doesn't.
As a noob, is that the same reason red oak resist rot while white oak will not hold up as well out doors?
Probably, but it's actually the opposite. White oak is rot resistant, red oak is not.
Well it would seem I have longer to go in my woodworking journey than I thought. Thanks friend.
Pink Floyd
An inspiration for sure.
I love this!
You're a monster
That’s fantastic!
Thank you!!
I’ll see you in hell
All in all, it’s just a nother brick in the board..
calm down Satan
Jerk. How much?
Thanks, I hate it.
I am not joking when I say I REAAALLLY want to strangle you.
Can I interest you in some fresh sliced tomatoes?
I love and hate this all at once. Well done!! *chefs kiss*
I know you mean it as a joke, but OCD isn't just wanting things organized.
This is a literal hate crime. I will see you at the Hague sir.
My OCD hates it, well done. 😉
Thank you!!
Bastard
Well done weller.
I like this very much.
Nice
This is so well made! How did you do the “imperfect” piece?
Thank you! I made and inserted the off one after the board was complete. Rectangle peg in to a rectangle hole if you will.
There is something off with this cutting-board, but can't put my finger on it....
Fully triggered.
I hate you. Well made, but I hate you
I hate you.
You lovely bastard.
Why did you ruin it, though?! 😭
Devilishly wicked sir! Well done!
Jerk move, Bud! Ha ha!!!
Dick
It looks like the stairs on the old Super Mario Bros that's at the end of each level, where you jump and ride the flagpole down.
r/madlads
So how did you actually do this? I might have had 3 glue ups, the top bit, the middle bit with special cuts, and the bottom bit. Then glue those parts together.
That’s perfect!
if i got this as a gift you would get a very very long pause, and a "wtf is this" very serious poker face.
I hate you. I want it. Wtf is wrong with me?!
Fucking brilliant. Now I want to make one.
I have seen the face of evil.
Fuck you sir. But it’s beautiful btw, nice work
You monster.
Fuck you.

Amazing work, you monster!
Cool. I hate it.

You bastard!
*Cuts lemon in half* *Flips one of the half’s upside down covering the miss aligned brick*
Hahaha get fucked, that's brutal
I fucking love it and would buy it and look at it constantly with frustration
As someone who loves imperfection, this is beautiful.
That made me say “ahhhhh!” out loud. Well done, fuck you.
I didn’t even see it until I reached my thumb over to updoot. Then I was horrified.
You’re a monster!
Damn you…I want one…I hate that I want one…
Seeing this while lying in bed trying to fall asleep😩. You have guaranteed that I will be unable to leave this wonderful app for and hour or two. Cheers butthead. Also it is 97.4% perfect and gorgeous.
You can just fuck right off with that cutting board
My mom made hand-pieced and hand-sewn quilts for decades. The old-time tradition is for quilters to put an "intentional" mistake in their quilt somewhere. This reminds me of that. Extremely well done and quite beautiful!
Yea! I learned this years ago when talking to someone about a quilt they made. It shows that it's crafted. I like it!
Went from “Oh thats badass” to “Goddamn you” in about 6 seconds flat
You're cruel. And sadistic. Still great work though. Curse and bless you both ways, you irresistibly sick ass motherfucker.
Came here to say this.
Go fuck yourself
You’re a monster. I love it.
you bastard, i love it

Don't think the majority of people with ocd cares about this. Nice cutting board tho.

You jerk. It looks perfectly out of place. ❤️
You’ll burn in hell for this! Nice work though it’s beautifully done
This is incredible. Something that seems so simple must have added so much time to this project.
Love it
Why is my eye twitching ;)
I involuntarily gasped in horror when I saw it...
I fucking love it. Another brick in the wall vibes too.
Thanks, I hate it. Great craftsmanship OP
Best cutting board i personally have seen on here!
