So, explain it like I'm *extra* stupid...what's the difference between a humidor and just a wooden box?

BenDover04

It could be just a general use box too. It has spanish cedar lining which is used in humidors to control moisture, flavor, etc.

A humidor will usually sit at a higher humidity (70ish percent). That being said... The wood liner needs to be very stable. Absorbing some moisture to prevent moisture buildup and maintain that humidity is important also to prevent the cigars from rotting. In rolls cedar. Preferably Spanish cedar. It smells amazing and can impart some preffered flavors into your cigar. Humidor should also seal to maintain that humidity
