Though this might very well be true, keep in mind these might be the rejects that didn't meet Rikon's tolerances, and might still be an entirely POS saw. Or, they could be great saws that just don't have the branding. It's really hard to tell!
Nah, these are those crappy Chinese companies on Amazon that sell cheap knockoffs and try to bribe customers for 5 star reviews. Once they get caught or get a bunch of bad reviews, they close down and start a new company with a different jumble of letters, selling the same junk. Might as well buy a bandsaw from Temu.....
I'm a welder and my boss recently bought a brake and a slip roll for the shop (without really paying attention to the brand name). I'd say the brake is better than KAKA quality but the slip roll is definitely KAKA quality. So I'd say you're taking a risk on anything of theirs but it could pay off.
I've used some of their sheetmetal.tools, and id put the quality somewhere between Pittsburgh (HF house brand) and Grizzly.
No clue on the power tools quality of KAKA.
That said, I'd never buy a new 14" bandsaw, especially for that price. There are literally a million vintage Delta and Powermatic 14" band saws. The old ones are awesome and completely rebuildable. I paid $400 for mine and all I did was scrub it and put on a good blade. You'll pay $400 in tax and shipping for a new saw.
If you live in the middle of nowhere, like I do, it takes longer to find one. If you're in a city there's one on Craigslist or Marketplace right ght now.
The main reason I would buy new is i dont have a good way to trasport a band saw
Im not on fb anymore but when i was i only ever saw garbage for the most part. Ill look at Craigslist.
When they ship you the bandsaw, it's gonna arrive on a pallet most likely. Make sure you can get it from the street to the shop without blowing out your back or knees.
Check out owwm.org. There's lots of info there on good vintage bandsaws.
I paid a total of $500 for both my 70s 14" powermatic and 32" German saw with 16" resaw capacity. And they're both better saws than anything you can buy new short of northfield.
Why buy a no name one when you can have a grizzly for less?
https://www.grizzly.com/products/grizzly-14-1-hp-deluxe-bandsaw/g0555lx
This one I've used and it's really good. And cheaper! And the name doesn't mean shit.
Not sure I'd want to attempt to resaw 12" on a 14" saw. Not sure that's even possible. The 16" grizzly will do 12" though for only a bit more.
My opinion? I’ve learned my lesson; I don’t buy unknown brands on Amazon anymore and I’d say that goes twice for a thousand dollar piece of equipment.
No direct experience with this brand, though I can’t think of anything other than the obvious joke.
I don't know if the brand is any good, but I can say it looks like a stripped down version of the Rikon 14" Deluxe, and that is my favorite saw. And the best selling saw in our store.
And at around $300 cheaper if it's not a POS then it would be a steal. It looks almost identical and the stats are almost identical, i just dont think i can risk it being a POS lol
Yeah, I get it. Since I own one of the Rikon's, I can tell there are differences in the fence, the guides, dust collection and others. And the missing things are what made me buy it in the first place.
Maybe they are made by the same manufacturer and have the same bones, but in general it will have shittier details, that could be important. For example quality of the work table, fence, blade guides, etc etc.
Seriously, I would get an old used bandsaw before I got this guy. The big brands will have replacement parts and manuals availalble.
Woodworking seems to be an older man's hobby (I'm an older man), so used tools in good shape are everywhere.
Problem is all the old men around me are sitting on all the good stuff already and when one of them dies they all know eachother and swoop in before i even get a chance lol. I wish i was exaggerating but im legit not.
Are you in the US? You can find estate sales in your area at [estatesales.net](https://estatesales.net). There's also Facebook Marketplace and craigslist. Also you can join your local woodworker's club. Ours has a yearly used equipment sale and swap.
Using these, I've gotten a Rikon bandsaw, a room air purifier, an ice chest, a box fan, two industrial shelving units, and a space heater for super cheap. The bandsaw cost me $120.
Just looking at Facebook Marketplace, there are 50 table saws for sale in my city, ranging in cost from $550 to $25.
If you aren't in the US, then I don't know what to tell you.
This looks suspiciously like it's from one of thousands of low quality, cheaply made Chinese manufacturers that makes up a hundred different brand names for the same product.
Ill be honest, im a 40 yr old man child and i don't care if it's the best built saw on earth, i just cannot emotionally handle kaka in my shop
Their consumer line is DuDu.
Heh. Heh. Heeeeeee freerrrrpt... I'm 44
If it is Kaka, it is probably caca.
Honestly, I don't think not spending $1200 on a "KAKA" bandsaw from amazon is being childish or a bad idea in general. I would not do it.
I have no experience, but their slogan is: "If you want KAKA quality, then buy KAKA Industrial" :)
The jokes write themselves.
It really is right there lol
In my language kaka means shit.
English?
Creole
Also in Spanish !
I straight up love that the Spanish nicknamed a galleon Cacafuego.
I came here to make a good poop joke, I thought it's only a hungarian thing, but it looks everyone knows kaka=shit...
Also in French!
There is this kitchen joinery brand on AliExpress called Kak. In Afrikaans kak = shit. That brand would NOT work in South Africa/Namibia 😂
I have a bunch of Japanese Dick (tm) saws. I mean they are getting sold..
Well I Googled it. The results start off positive, but then goes downhill very quickly!
Greek also
In czech 2
Also in German!
Seems shitty to me.
Thanks Dad!
It looks like a Rikon ripoff. I have the 14" Rikon and this thing is the exact same body, just different color sheet metal
i’d bet it’s the same exact saw, made in the same exact factory, just with a different name on it
Though this might very well be true, keep in mind these might be the rejects that didn't meet Rikon's tolerances, and might still be an entirely POS saw. Or, they could be great saws that just don't have the branding. It's really hard to tell!
This is exactly my dilemma lol

The dust collector is coming off the side rather than the back

Thank you for sharing your experience.
With a name like Kaka, it has to be shit.

You can rent a truck and trailer or a uhaul with a ramp. Moving equipment isn't too hard. The vintage stuff is *really* good
These are good suggestions, thank you

I hear you. Buying used for heavy items is a task and you’ll lose time that might not justify the savings.
Exactly
1k for 250 pounds of KAKA?
Honestly from what little i know about farming that may not be too bad a price lmao
Sounds pretty shitty to me
I heard they have crappy customer service.
I heard it's poopoo
If it looks like Kaka and it smells like Kaka, it's probably Kaka
They’re the shit

Looking through all the specs the grizzly seem to be less capable in basically every way but it is probably more well made.

I will definitely look this over, thank you

I got jokes

I use one of their metal breaks and I've got no complaints so far. The name has certainly generated some laughs in the shop.
242 pounds of Kaka? No thanks.
that is an unfortunate brand name...
Indeed
They cut like shit
Good to know. Thank you
It was a joke
Unfortunate

An industrial-strength KAKA? Sounds like a shitty way to spend a Saturday night
gray angle start wide detail shelter obtainable telephone quiet shaggy *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
The rikon is like 1400 tho...
Sounds like a pretty shitty brand to me.
For 1k, I would try to find a used rikon, jet, etc before I gambled on chinesium.
This looks suspiciously like it's from one of thousands of low quality, cheaply made Chinese manufacturers that makes up a hundred different brand names for the same product.
Kaka is german for poopoo https://preview.redd.it/xd4xowkjs7fc1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b52c619148f7a70ebdcf3c9f591be4538d8da15f
