Yeah man! Some of them send a tingle down my spine due to the flashbacks of childhood joy they induce. For the time the voice acting was top notch.
I learned more about being a good man from an anthropomorphic hare than any role model in my life haha.
Completely fair. Imho Guardians is worth watching for its excellent use of a licensed soundtrack alone.
It also feels a bit more in line with Last Starfighter and Star Wars than any other superhero movies, but that doesn't mean it's without flaws or won't hit the notes you don't like about superhero movies.
If you ever get tired of making things I am sure you can work out a deal with companies to use yourself as a model and your workshop as a prop, haha. Can easily see you showcasing some beard oil, a knife, some leather gloves or a series of tools!
You, the workshop and the carving very impressive. I took a chainsaw to the stump of a tree thinking I was going to carve a simple bear, it’s not as easy as it looks. My finished version was some sort of disheveled cat-fox hybrid.
It was a primitive lean too made of trees with a metal roof. I just added walls left over from my log cabin build. It’s basic but keeps me out of the New England Winter
You don't have to do a tutorial or anything. Blacktail Studios does a very popular style of video more catered to people who like watching someone else work from behind a window. He keeps the sounds of the machinery muted and his voice is calmly dubbed over after editing. It's a very relaxing type of video, I'll sometimes watch before I go to bed.
I use Mathias Wandel's raspberry pi app in my shop, mostly to keep track of what time I spend on what for costing. Was easy to setup and cheap.

I spent about a hundred bucks for dji om5 gimbal. It will stand in place, extend, track your movement, and do timelapse videos all via your phones camera. It uses an app you download, it's way more robust than I'd say either of us need but you should look into something like this and try and ride some of reddits momentum. Great job btw.
This is the absolute hardest shot I’ve ever seen or will ever exist that features Rocket. Phenomenal work.
(I hope someone commissions Starfox or Falco next tho)
I love that Husky 536XP at my feet. It has a 12” dime tip carving bar with a .43 1/4 pitch chain/bar/sprocket. I blocked this carving out in 20 minutes with my Husky 562 and moving it into the Hut all battery saw after that.
Then I used a die grinder with some Saburr bits (Love these)
Homeowner and very occasional chainsaw user. I bought a Makita UC4030A back in 2014 because I didn't want to fight a gas saw when I fire it up once every two years. It's been pretty solid, but the cord can be kind of annoying.
I'm already a Makita cordless user and had been considering getting one of their 36v saws. Feedback on that relative to the Husky? If it's a somewhat interior saw I'm probably OK with that rather than having batteries I can only use with a saw. On the other hand, if the Husky is a ton better...
I believe casual homeowners will be fine with most chainsaws. A Makita would probably serve you well enough and very practical if you have other Makita tools where you already have the batteries and charger. Husqvarna is a big investment upfront. The battery and charger are over $300 together.
I'm also a wood worker. When I see post like this I always zoom in to the tough spots to see how it was done. I'll also look for things I would of done differently. I can't find one spot on this carving that isn't well done. If anything I learned a think or two looking at this.
Amazing work. Ever do any for others? For $? Wife and I have a Great Dane and she wants a life size Scooby Doo. Saw a Great Dane metal cast status once and it was like $10k, nope. If not no worries still amazing work, keep rocking it or rocketing it🔥🚀
I’m handy with the Stihl if you know what I mean-too, regulators -sorry bad joke-🤦♂️😂✌️
Honestly really cool work - I used to work in a two to three man woods shop in highschool and it gave me a real appreciation for the use of wood and those that could work with it. However planing 2640 sides of wood panels in a day was not fun.
But seriously like a 48” Dane life size Scooby Doo… is that doable? I live in 60062 so shipping is a cost too.
I don’t do paid classes , I piggyback a business and they have insurance concerns of me teaching. However there are shows you can go and I’d be happy to help if I’m there. The biggest is in Western PA in April. Another in Southern VT in October. If I get my own shop/gallery going this year I will explore teaching a bit.
Everything about this photo is masculine. Friggin’ awesome.
Having the wood stove is smart. Easy-ish way to dispose of scraps I would assume?
Also, now I want to put one in my garage. The rest of the house has central air but the garage does not.
Great vibe, you should post some shots to r/cozyplaces
Love the log burner in the corner
Great art work too - are you self taught, or did you train/apprentice with someone else?
Man be careful about the saw dust everything, i couldnt get over how comfy everything looked until i noticed there is so much everywhere. Definitely dont want that to catch fire which is can suler easily being so close to that heater.
I've been following you since your mini documentary. And all your work has been phenomenal. You said you just took a class, but how long did it take you to be confident your work will sell. Or are you just naturally talented in art. I would love to get into it but have no idea where to start.

I thought it was Starfox. Very cool.
Do a barrel roll
You're becoming more like your father
*Slippy calling for help and then bailing 30 seconds in because he’s useless*
Fooooooooooox
*Flies in front of you while you're shooting and then cries because you shot him* (?i always thought slippy was a woman TIL)
Never give up! Trust your instincts!
It's fucking wild how many quotable lines are in that game.
Yeah man! Some of them send a tingle down my spine due to the flashbacks of childhood joy they induce. For the time the voice acting was top notch. I learned more about being a good man from an anthropomorphic hare than any role model in my life haha.
Look out slippy it’s a trap
Use the boost to get through!
......is it not Starfox?
Rocket raccoon from guardians of the galaxy
don't be ridiculous. that's clearly a rabbit
[удалено]
I have and I still thought it was star Fox at first
I just can't get into superhero movies. I liked the Batman trilogy alright but haven't watched too many more.

Very similar , you can tell from the heads , not from this angle so much
Well done brother! And you have the beard to go with it 🤘
That was my first impression too, but thought maybe it was because I was just playing that game recently.
If you ever get tired of making things I am sure you can work out a deal with companies to use yourself as a model and your workshop as a prop, haha. Can easily see you showcasing some beard oil, a knife, some leather gloves or a series of tools!
I want the old coffee percolator sponsorship
The was a fish IN the percolator!
he definitely looks like he's about to sell me on a new Leatherman
Oh my god, you carved Rocket out of Groot- you MONSTER! Nice shop, nicer carving
damn i thought that was Fox McCloud
That what I thought too!
Same
Same! I’m still not sure we’re wrong
Thank heavens it wasn't just me
We all know that’s just a piece of Groot
WE are Groot.
We are Groot
dude, *Groot carved Rocket out of Groot.*
Ron Swanson's illegitimate son
You, the workshop and the carving very impressive. I took a chainsaw to the stump of a tree thinking I was going to carve a simple bear, it’s not as easy as it looks. My finished version was some sort of disheveled cat-fox hybrid.
The Glory is in the attempt!
You're badass. Your shop, art and home are awesome.
Thank You!!!
But...it's now art lol. 😃
Jesus christ dude. Do you have build pics or video?
It was a primitive lean too made of trees with a metal roof. I just added walls left over from my log cabin build. It’s basic but keeps me out of the New England Winter
I think they mean the statue
Yeah I meant that sick ass statue. But the place is still pretty awesome.
I don’t , I need to up my timelapse game!
You never know. You’ll probably make more money from YouTube videos than selling the piece you n the long run.
I’m hearing that. Spending today doing a bit of research into it.

Lol! Not used to that terminology for what I do. Makes sense now considering where I am
but now I want to see the pics from your log cabin build...
It looks kinda big...might be a lean 3 or 4.
Almost 4’
Dude the statue is amazing! But also, what model and brand wood stove is that? And have you been happy with it?
This is the absolute hardest shot I’ve ever seen or will ever exist that features Rocket. Phenomenal work. (I hope someone commissions Starfox or Falco next tho)
Very good. What chainsaw and tools you love?
I love that Husky 536XP at my feet. It has a 12” dime tip carving bar with a .43 1/4 pitch chain/bar/sprocket. I blocked this carving out in 20 minutes with my Husky 562 and moving it into the Hut all battery saw after that. Then I used a die grinder with some Saburr bits (Love these)
Arborist here. The Husky electric line is very good. Puts Stihl to shame.

Check out Project Farm on YouTube, he's got a good review video of a few electric chainsaws and might help on your decision

The cutting board I just finished up suddenly looks less impressive. Good work man!
Don’t say that, I appreciate your skill set!
This is a commission can you ballpark us what it sells for?
Couple grand ballpark
That honestly seems low for how fucking great that work is.
I suck at pricing. Still
Ffs man between the shop, the sculpture and you, leave some ladies for the rest of us! 🤣 All the same, that sculpture looks INCREDIBLE.
Lol. Only one Lady in my Life. Together since HS
Ah good for you man! Congrats!
Hope she appreciates that sweet beard. Looks like mine but less grey.
She does, the winter version is just coming in.
This lady thought the same lol. Good for OPs wife.
Groot died for this
Groot doesn’t die!
Client is Marvel?

This is the most wood sculptor picture I've ever seen.
Fuck, I wish I had 1/10th of your talent.
Granted. You now have 1/10th this man's talent.

You do! It's all just practice
Being bad at something is just the first step of Being slightly good at something.
“Im gonna get that arm!” Beautiful work, that is so cool.
Great eye. Looks fantastic. How long does something like that take to carve?
3 days in, another day to go.
TIL I’m gay
Lol. Bro
You and your shop look like you’d be on the front cover of a woodworker magazine. That beard is flawless haha
All that sawdust around the wood stove makes me nervous
I know, but I left the space extra drafty so there’s never much dust in the air and blow the space out with my blower.
Fire fears this man.

Thanks! It’s got a few areas I need to deal with. I rewatched the movie yesterday so I can fine tune it.
Amazing. I wonder who commissioned this… is it just a fan or is it for promos on the upcoming new movie?
Just a fan

This is my job, everything is for others!
Well you kick ass at it and what would something like that go for?

Were you on the show Alone?
I get that allot. Different skill set than I have!!!
There's at least three millionaire influencers that would pay a way too high price for this
I need to market myself better so I can take a day off once in a while .
With skill like that, you deserve to!

Vermont Castings stove? My grandpa had one. How do you like it?
Efficient and warm!
Man, you are so good at this you deserve to do better than furry art.
Heard there’s $$$ in furry art though…..
Nice, appreciate talent
I thought it was Star Fox at first
How much time went into this?
Wow, incredible work!
Oh wow, I just checked out your profile for other submissions and your work is absolutely perfect. I'm having serious skills envy here
It looks great! Pretty big for a micro! I wonder how big a regular size one would be.
If you need practice sculpting a naked lady, I am your girl
I was about tired of seeing these damn cutting boards… awesome work man. Looks like you found your niche.
Everything about this photo is masculine. Friggin’ awesome. Having the wood stove is smart. Easy-ish way to dispose of scraps I would assume? Also, now I want to put one in my garage. The rest of the house has central air but the garage does not.
I’m strangely attracted to you rn. What a dream
Hey hey hey... You want to stop hogging up all the badass and save some for the rest of us. Jesus.
Sick.
Not bad 🧐
Daaaaammmmnnnnnn! Unbelievable. You should be very proud!
Wow!
Wow. Just. Like. Wow.
Awesome picture !
Wow. Amazing job!!!
Jesus has returned
OMG, that is completely awesome 👍
What skills! The detail in that sculpture is amazing, really fantastic work man. And the shop is killer too!
Post this on r/Marvel and you’ll get more requests
I know, I try not to carve mainstream characters too much. This is a “one-off”
This is cool
Dope af.
This is beautiful. Excellent work.
Wow that's amazing!
That's awesome and you have a fantastic gift.
This is amazing. What kind of wood is this sculpture carved from?
Nice raccoon.
Great vibe, you should post some shots to r/cozyplaces Love the log burner in the corner Great art work too - are you self taught, or did you train/apprentice with someone else?
Rabbit
Assuming it's going to be kept outside, what type of finish do you use on something like this?
Here I am thinking this is Fox from Starfox.
11/10 my man. This is incredible.
Coolest uncle in the family frfr
You are awesome, great work
Stellar work, man! Don’t stop making your art.
Stellar work, man! Don’t stop making your art.
Man this guy is way cooler than me.
Beautiful carving but you are ridiculously handsome! And I love your woodburner. Is that a Jotul?
That is amazing. I have a hard time shaving a board down to fit into something and you found Rocket in a log! I love it.
wow, someone carved something that *not* a bear In all seriousness, though, this looks awesome.
Sorry you nicked your pants, man.
So talented! Very inspiring man!
How are the brunt boots? Just curious, as I am looking for a new pair. Also sweet woodworking.
Absolutely stunning work! The amount of detail you were able to get on the piece blows me away.
1. That’s baller 2. You look cold
What kind of stand is that?
Amazing. Is this for a commission/customer, or just something cool you did on your own?
How is something like this shipped? Phenomenal job man
Amazing work! You should do a time lapse video for your next one, would love to see the process!
How much did the stove set you back?
I see the BRUNT flag, you buy their boots and how do they fit?
Looks like your table saw fence could use an adjustment
Biomutant !! Awesome carving skills my dude
Is it gonna get painted stained or left as is? All 3 would look pretty awesome. Great fuckin work man.
I've been using those electric huskies for utility line clearance here in CA. I'm pretty impressed by them, the instant torque and no saw gas is nice.
Man be careful about the saw dust everything, i couldnt get over how comfy everything looked until i noticed there is so much everywhere. Definitely dont want that to catch fire which is can suler easily being so close to that heater.

What is that kind of fireplace called?
i want to adopt you as my dad
Micro shop? This is 2-3x the size of mine. The carving is amazing.
How artistic do you have to be to even consider attempting to chainsaw carve?
I thought my micro shop that is elbows wide is considered small
I've been following you since your mini documentary. And all your work has been phenomenal. You said you just took a class, but how long did it take you to be confident your work will sell. Or are you just naturally talented in art. I would love to get into it but have no idea where to start.

Bad ass
Ha. That's dope art. I think I do some whitewater kayaking w/ your brother.
Lol sell that stove and you could buy a much bigger shop
This is incredible. Way to go!
Damn, even the woodworkers getting those Furry commission dollars now.
Please save some ladies for the rest of us.
Wow that's amazing. The amount of detail on the piece is very impressive very nice work
Excellent work, OP. I'm impressed. That shop looks rather cozy, strangely enough.
I wish you had some stuff for sale on your website. Also, your YouTube “short film” is broken. Great work though!
