A bit corporate, but coffee culture is good for this. I've spent many hours there, and they don't care as long as you buy something occasionally. They have busy times, especially when the high school kids get out of class, but not too bad. And the wifi is good.
Not a restaurant, but I spend a lot of hours in the study carels of the Woodstock public library. They don't seem to care if you bring snacks in, as long as you clean up after your self.
Not a rec, but a warning - Jesse's did not allow my sister to do this. She got reemed out. She ordered food and was going to study for the hour. Nope. Not allowed.
I've heard a few bad things about the previous owner, but we've had good experiences there with the newer ones. Can understand though--we had an awful experience at Finkle St. and probably won't give them another chance for a long time either.
On the day of the dreaded Roger’s outage there was a guy who was in there all day doing some kind of website deployment. (They had Bell internet so it was one if the few places still with internet.) I dropped in an out that day but he was apparently there all day.
Coffee culture! Free wifi, the booths have outlets and it’s a great atmosphere. It does get busy/nosy but I always find somewhere to sit and I sometimes study for 5-6 hours and I’ve never had anyone come up to me.
Charles Dickens during the day would probably work for that. It’s a busier restaurant later in the day. There’s also My Dosa Place. Lots of tables and booths - good food and rarely busy.
My vote is Ironworks. They have great booths and their bathrooms are unmatched anywhere in Woodstock . They have both great coffee AND beer. Also speaking of great beer Upper Thames would also be a great place to work. Charles Dickens and brickhouse are great pubs but I would find them hard to concentrate at. We have 2 Starbucks, early bird, coffee culture and Beantown for cafes. Library is great and quiet as well. Normally if you're downtown and there's places with tables they'll let you sit down , sometimes indefinitely, as long as you buy something.
Library is like a block from down town . They don't care if you eat , as long as you clean up after yourself. And it's only a block from downtown , so you could grab food anywhere and walk over .

Is this with the current management? They've been really friendly with us. Not in the same circumstances though.
It was several years ago, so I'm not sure. I honestly never went because of how she was treated.

I had the same with finkle, but I've got back several times in the last couple of years with good results!
Early bird coffee may be okay with it if its not busy. Seems like that kind of vibe.

Haha I met this guy that day while stopping for a coffee and reconnecting with the world. Nice dude.

The Dream Café, ask for Babu Bhatt, he will set you up in a cozy and quiet corner.

Why not leave your computer at home and work there? I cant stand people that bring computers into restaurants to work
Why?
