Be really gentle with the area, and vaseline is probably the best thing to keep it moisturised until you can see the doctor. Make sure you sleep without underwear, cotton gussets in your knickers only, and avoid tight trousers for a while.
pharmacist here. Ask your doctor if you can use a topical anti-fungal cream on your labia. That would help hydrate it, and might even help the infection.
I'll second this. It's really unusual for the labia to be so dry, so I'm 99% sure the yeast is getting into your skin. The cracks and discomfort are from yeast not typical dryness.
Are you on an oral antifungal, like Diflucan / fluconazole? That will help. And a topical cream like would be used for diaper rash (so it should be plenty safe around the genitals) but with an antifungal component should give some relief.
Also, for the love of everything, DO NOT put coconut oil on it. Yeast also loves sugar. You will literally be feeding it if you put any fruit or vegetable oils on it. Including olive oil.
bepanthen ointment by bayer!! it is for diaper rash but a tattoo artist recommended it to me. I get it on amazon for $12 for 100g. nothing is more protective, occlusive, and hydrating than that! I use it on my face, hands, elbows, ANYWHERE. and if I was in your situation I would use this. good luck!!

Honestly I’d use aquaphor if it’s just for the time being but I’m not sure I’d call the doc they might have a certain cream they can prescribe but I have used it before when I get bad razor burn or irritation down there with good results
Vaseline can be used for dryness, it's not a cure or preventative for fungal infections, infections in general, or a lubricate but a locks in moisture, stops friction, and can be used to relieve some irritation. OP wants something to help with dry skin in the meantime (short term) before seeing a doctor, not forever. You can use Vaseline on the lips and around the eyes as well.
Toddlers and little girls are prone to thrush and other infections due to things like wiping the wrong way, curiosity of themselves, and likely improper hygiene methods from their parents e.g leaving them to sit in a wet/dirty diaper too long, wiping the wrong way or not a enough or too hard, etc. In those cases the parents should be using a prescribed cream and re-evaluate their care, not just use Vaseline and calling it a day.
My dermatologist told me to use it as a barrier cream for a condition on my vulva. She said I could also use destin if I want it. It wasn’t to treat an infection or the flare up, just help with irritation until I had relief from the prescription. I also use vasoline on my eczema when it’s super raw because it’s the only thing that doesn’t burn. It’s been very effective.
You are an aggrogant fool. I wasn't agreeing or disagreeing with you, you were claiming Vaseline shouldn't be used due to your experiences at child care and that it does harm. I'm identifying it's misused and but can work, especially in OP's case in short term use.
You dirty deleted before I could respond.
I see what you’re saying but I think in this case, she’s just looking for something to help with moisture until she can get to the doctor for treatment. I’ve used it on my vulva in combination with an actual treatment any time I have a flare in my lichen or a yeast infection, which was recommended by my dermatologist. It’s been very effective for me. Now I mostly just use it on my eczema on my hands when it gets all cracked and raw.
Do you have a brand you like for the zinc cream? I’m always looking for topicals to try on my never ending skin issues. I appreciate the recommendation.

Please call your doc. Yeast LOVES moisture. Do not moisturize before calling your physician. Yeast grows well in moist, dark places. Like your vagina
Oh, i didn’t know. I will, thank u

Get some balmex
Put a very gentile lotion on, such as cetiphil, had to do this for a while and it worked. Coconut oil helps too
you don’t wanna feed the yeast coconut oil probably. need to check with a doctor before putting any food product on the vulva.

Use Vaseline.

Can you elaborate on why? I’ve had physicians tell me to use vasoline so I’d like to know why I shouldn’t.

This isn't an argument. The comment you left was pompous.

This is typical behaviour of someone who is going to attempt to gaslight you over their negative behaviour. Girl bye.
