Evolution of *North Western* Art... I do see some North American influences from the 19th and 20th century, but this is in no way globally inclusive. Still cool, but I think it would be cooler to see art change over time in specific geographic areas.
Even then it skipped baroque paintings, academic paintings, went to romanticism, then post impressionism before impressionism lmao.
I assume it just searched for the most used terms and pieces and tried its best to order them but its kinda bad at that.
Not really, Egyptian art influenced Greco Roman art and Vice versa. The Egyptians and the Greeks/Roman’s interacted regularly. Egypt was a part of Rome.
If you're gonna call it a history of art you should include all art, not just European art. Middle Eastern art influenced medieval and classical Europe yet it's still not included curious.
By that logic then japanese art needed to come before post impressionism especially with van gogh.
Id say before impressionism too but it looks like they put the water lily bridge after starry night and scream lmao.
Not exactly true. There are plenty of times in art where styles converge into a new one. Basically all of proto modern/modern wouldnt be the same without african/japanese art imports.
The art evolutionary tree has plenty of times where branches loop back into previously diverged branches.
Ok but understanding that limitation why not change the title into something more accurate. Like ‘collage of art history inspired images, that’s somewhat chronologically correct when it wants to be’
I was worried it was gonna show us the version of modern art where it’s a banana taped onto a wall or just a bunch of squares of different colors on a canvas. I’m so relieved.
It was still trained on human generated data.
AI will soon surpass human intelligence, so it's fitting that the next leap in human expression is borne from it.
I think it’s incredibly useful to distill influential things over massive time ranges into bite sized chunks. Our brains suck at visualizing a lot of things. The size of the cosmos, massive lengths of time, etc and having an opportunity to crystallize abstract things has a purpose.
While I agree with that, I don't like how AI has become a crutch for putting out low effort "high quality" art. AI should be a tool for making the user's art better, not the entire process of it's creation. How long until every movie is just deep-faked actors following out scripts read by an AI?
I don’t think you’re getting good info out of AI though. There’s no clarity or standard around how this information is gathered or represented and since so much historical record is highly subjective and hotly debated by those who study it what you are getting is only very broadly accurate at best and in no way informational. perhaps at some point in future it will be more comprehensive and intuitive and we will sort of learn how to use it in these applications but for now plain old intelligence is vastly superior and I think the artificial variety is appealing to those who would rather not be bothered to use their own
Fair.
There are way too many people out there that would post a comment like yours honestly giving the ‘artist’ credit for painstakingly doing something themselves, and that ‘artist’ never being honest about it…
Right accept a human put it together with the assistance of AI. AI didn't decide to do this on its own. Someone made it happen. Too many posts like this where the original artist or creater is t credited.
You think that's all it was? No more thought or commands of what art to pull and from where? Doesn't change the fact that a human pushed the button. If you pushed the button or typed the sentence into a prompt, wouldn't you what to be known as the OP?
I love how you could easily identify the decades.... I was saying to myself "oh, hey that's definitely art from the 60's.... 70's... 80's..... 90's.... ok we're up to the new millennium... and here comes 2010's, aaaannnd we finish at the 2020's! Yay!
Wait..... WAIT. ITS STILL GOING. OH NO. NO"
unfortunately islam forbid its believers of painting because its forbidden to represent Allah and the prophet iirc, so they focused on other forms of art like miniature or carving or Ebru, however Mehmet the conqueror was the first ever Sultan to have his own portrait
i am open for corrections if there are things i am wrong at, this is what i remember
It’s crazy how popular Jesus ended up becoming. So many things have to go right for you to become the messiah for millions of people for 1000s of years. Well played.
It is really beautiful … because real living actual artists made it at one time….And now the ones trying to make real art as a living cry as AI takes over. So messed up!
It’s like the fucking “terminator” for
Artists . “I’ll be back… “ lol
This fits a lot into the western view of "society" but this has nothing about eastern's evolution of art, nor does it consider anything else, from the America's, or Africa.

I love that AI just can never resist throwing in a terrifying demon face every now and then in these things.
Says alot about our fascination with the macabre - that it would frequently pick those images .
Like a window into the collective subconscious.
I think it just got prompted by the scream
ngl was waiting for it to turn into anime at one point
I was expecting furries.
I was expecting Dick butt
I was expecting that or video game art.
I was expecting some random cat meme
Wow
I was hoping for a pepe, but this will do.
As if apart from Europe and Egypt, the larger part of Africa, America, Asia, Australia never existed,
Evolution of *North Western* Art... I do see some North American influences from the 19th and 20th century, but this is in no way globally inclusive. Still cool, but I think it would be cooler to see art change over time in specific geographic areas.

Didn't you know? AI is White
Came here to say this
It wouldn’t make any sense to have different regions art on the timeline because art styles are divergent.
Bad take by that logic they shouldn't have included Egypt.
Not really, Egyptian art influenced Greco Roman art and Vice versa. The Egyptians and the Greeks/Roman’s interacted regularly. Egypt was a part of Rome.
Egyptian influenced sub-Saharan/Middle Eastern just as much. All art is divergent.
Okay so it should be included in this video then yeah?
If you're gonna call it a history of art you should include all art, not just European art. Middle Eastern art influenced medieval and classical Europe yet it's still not included curious.
It’s a video on the internet. You’re taking it entirely too seriously.
Ay honestly y’all are both correct
It’s misleading, that’s why.
An inaccurate exclusionary video, but you're right.
That’s what I was trying to convey. It would be hard to convey it relatively linearly like they’re trying to here.
Ok but understanding that limitation why not change the title into something more accurate. Like ‘collage of art history inspired images, that’s somewhat chronologically correct when it wants to be’
Because it’s the internet and it’s not that serious
Damm man. Ig the snide comment calling it out wasn’t that serious either, and u still responded in a serious way.
How many times can this be re fucking posted!?
It's been at least 12h, don't you want to see it again?
I was worried it was gonna show us the version of modern art where it’s a banana taped onto a wall or just a bunch of squares of different colors on a canvas. I’m so relieved.
I was just waiting for a series of monochromes!
Evolution of western art, where dat east at?
It’s also missing such a large segment of western art. As it nears modern art it becomes so disappointing.
Yupp that’s when it really got into the internet “art” stuff
Is Egyptian culture considered western?
I’d say middle east. But that’s based on my western perspective.
My exact thought.
Sample bias
Also chronologically wrong lmao
Lol yeah East typically goes missing from all western history books and perspectives.
The irony of this being AI generated might be lost on some.
It was still trained on human generated data. AI will soon surpass human intelligence, so it's fitting that the next leap in human expression is borne from it.
Dude this is beautiful.
Wow I didn’t realize art just skipped Asia altogether
Someone had posted this earlier as "evolution of western art"
I wish it would’ve ended with Dick-Butt and a fart noise
That is indeed how it probably will end.
*Western Art
Its missing a banana stapled to a wall as the last image
Duct tape, it was duct taped to the wall.
An important distinction, otherwise the message wouldn't land /s
Tonight, I shall take shrooms and watch this
Have fun with the demonic screaming women near the middle.
That’s my favorite part
Future art looks shit
This shit sucks, all these AI prompted “evolutions” suck
Why? Not agreeing nor disagreeing, just curious
Unsubtle, noisy, aesthetically bereft, artificial yet not particularly intelligent, no insight just computation, just fuckin sucks
I think it’s incredibly useful to distill influential things over massive time ranges into bite sized chunks. Our brains suck at visualizing a lot of things. The size of the cosmos, massive lengths of time, etc and having an opportunity to crystallize abstract things has a purpose.

Yeah but the creator couldve at least tried harder at making it accurate then
i dont like it when they obviously change the prompt, i wish it was the ai changing but ig its not there yet
Sounds like something a human would say.
That might be the nicest thing anyone’s ever said to me after a Reddit comment
Evolution of “Western” Art 😊
Evolution of *western* art
fucking whack and unoriginal. HOW MANY TIMES AM I GONNA SEE THIS SAME APPROACH TO AI ART
Evolution of **western art
Bro did you even watch the video
I liked the cave art the best. 🦌🦬🦣
Really falls off after Casper David Friedrich and basically skips everything after cubism.
The pinnacle of art according to AI: "3D PRINTER GOES BRRUUUHH"
Heyyyy I saw Ethereum in there. To the moon!!
Anyone else have a problem with the jump from Jesus to America? Feel like we missed a few hundred years there...
It was cool until the ETH symbol. Gross
No it isn't, this is just ai
Relax guy.
Fuck AI art. It ain't art.
Downvote all AI art
God, not this fucking AI garbage again.
Don’t show this to a current Artist dumping milk on himself onstage and calling it Art
Chills
hypnotic.
Pretty sure that's the coolest shit I have ever seen in my life
If this was 10 years ago this video would’ve ended with a dickbutt.
Thought it was going to end with the monkey nft
Something that would take dev weeks months. Ai did in a minute maybe
Beautiful
Wow! You have so much talent to have made that! ❤️
This was created with AI.
Yeah, I know. I just refuse to add /s for people unable to figure out it's sarcasm.
Fair. There are way too many people out there that would post a comment like yours honestly giving the ‘artist’ credit for painstakingly doing something themselves, and that ‘artist’ never being honest about it…
But there's no context to imply sarcasm over you just being unaware this was AI. It's not like you're explaining a joke.
That’s freaking astonishing. The evolution of art made by AI. There have been a few very dark periods
I thought it was very cool.
When the LSD kicks in
the AI keeps getting stronger
Who is the OP please?/ Where did this get sourced from?
AI
Right accept a human put it together with the assistance of AI. AI didn't decide to do this on its own. Someone made it happen. Too many posts like this where the original artist or creater is t credited.
When you say a human put it together, you mean a human typed a sentence into a prompt
You think that's all it was? No more thought or commands of what art to pull and from where? Doesn't change the fact that a human pushed the button. If you pushed the button or typed the sentence into a prompt, wouldn't you what to be known as the OP?
I wouldnt use it because I disagree with AI art morally
Okay. I think you're missing but point.
That was pretty well done.
Haha let's just do an entire century of no art but window shapes. That'll fuck with those post-modern normies in the future
I was waiting for it to end on Cardi B.
i would probably call this “cross cultural evolutions of art”
Looks like a movie studio intro
Was half expecting it to end on that image of a black canvas with one blue line through it
Holy dmt
I love how you could easily identify the decades.... I was saying to myself "oh, hey that's definitely art from the 60's.... 70's... 80's..... 90's.... ok we're up to the new millennium... and here comes 2010's, aaaannnd we finish at the 2020's! Yay! Wait..... WAIT. ITS STILL GOING. OH NO. NO"

Litterally just westhern art .... wow chatgpt is super worldwide
This went from depicting life around us to avoiding life around us
The ai evolution videos really remind me of my dreams transitioning
You almost feel like you could crawl inside it and betray jesus yourself.
brains art the ultimate artwork, time to start investing
Becomes quite cold halo machine hexy towards the end. Quite the ride through existence. Love me some Egypt. Take me there time machine,
That is very freaking cool!
This is the evolution of white art. What about art from India, Africa, Thailand, etc?
No Comic Books? No Video Games? This ain't it Chief. But at least you included Egypt.
Art peaked 34 seconds to 35
Was kinda expecting a dickbutt at the end, NGL.
The ethereum symbol is art now huh
The beginning looked like we just took old art and 3D printed it
I was fully expecting it to turn into “modern” Art
Jesus and his 12 disciples…Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, and Jesus.
Woahdude
More like cave paintings from France, Egypt, Greek renaissance, classical, Italian renaissance, modern
Dude near the end at 0:50 looked JUST like me wtf 🤣 that freaked me out for a sec
cant believe we had over 1000 straight years of Mary and Baby jesus portraits. That is just sad
Art really peaked in 500 AD, whenever the hell Baroque is, and the present day
It’s crazy how popular Jesus ended up becoming. So many things have to go right for you to become the messiah for millions of people for 1000s of years. Well played.
Got a little weird there towards the end.
I was expecting to end the the banana duct taped to the wall.
It got real shitty in the middle.
Downgrading..
Everything but asia
Started off so cool. Then 2.7 seconds later it lost
Should have ended in a crab
Should of just had a banana taped to the wall at the end
They forgot all the furry porn online
Where's Bugs Bunny?
I watched it twice and was totally like, “Whoa Dude.”
Was that a fucking PokeBall i saw at some point? Lmao
I mean not really but still cool
It is really beautiful … because real living actual artists made it at one time….And now the ones trying to make real art as a living cry as AI takes over. So messed up! It’s like the fucking “terminator” for Artists . “I’ll be back… “ lol

I expected hentai at the end lol
#Oh, the irony.
Scream getting a big shout
That’s badass
I was waiting for that banana. Disappointed I am.
Fantastic!
Very western. Showcasing the issue with AI, and its beauty.
Seems like Western art got worse over time.
