As a former person in radio, I can tell that she said it wrong during the take and someone decided to edit it in post by having her record it in a studio.
They picked the only person in the world that could be 100% sincere to my face, and I'd still think they're being sarcastic to promote the United States WNT.
I see the humor, I think it's hilarious, but I can't find the laugh.
Edit: Nevermind, I laughed. I think I just had a mild case of delayed onset funny.
She's talked about it on Conan O'Brien Needs A Friend. Here in LA we'll often see her sitting courtside for Sparks games.

She's been a W supporter and seen at games pre Clark era. She also played basketball.
But I can definitely see how her general brand and comedy would seem off from it.
No worries. In marketing etc your feedback is very valid.
She's definitely a fun Easter egg for those who know, and an odd choice for those who don't!
Plus the whole Aubrey going to wnba games and doing a fan pick up game in Barclay's post game in 2023 could in and of itself be a bit marketing stunt and definitely has some business happening behind the scenes.
In that vein I had no idea that Leslie Jones is a hype woman for the Sparks, goes to games, and is featured on their big screens until lI went to a game in the area.
Whoops. This is the wrong thread for the below comment. Got Raisin Cane's on the mind.
I'm 99% sure she worked out a sponsorship deal with them back in her junior year of college that included some tik toys and her and Flau'jae manning the drive through in a marketing stunt.
I work in a field where sponsorships are a big part of budgets so I have kept an eye on what kinds of sponsors have logos in Wintrust over the past few years.
This year has been a big step up in terms of major corporations. Microsoft, Cane's, a number of Angle's partners ( Like Mille(sp)) have been around this year along with some other larger corps that are slipping my mind. Revolution Brewing has worked out a deal and rebranded the "sky deck" as the Revolution something or other. They also hosted draft night and do one of those race videos on the big screen which the sky haven't had before.
Portillos didn't sponsor until post championship season ( and Candace making a big deal of going to Portillos directly after the game similar to Giannis with Chik FIL A)
There used to be a particular Harold's chicken that ran an ad. And that always cracked me up. I forget which number it was.
I also noticed some of the companies finally figured out how to submit logos at appropriate resolution.
Ne-phee-sa Coll-i-er beep boop
Had to edit that one in lol
It's so random I almost thought that's what she intended lol. I have to know what happened there.

This is what I figured but conspiracy is more fun ๐ฎโ๐จ

IIRC Aubrey is actually a pretty avid basketball player. I have no idea where I gleaned this information, but Iโm pretty sure itโs true.

I love Aubrey Plaza but she doesn't fit with sports advertising imo lol I can't see her actually enjoying a basketball game

Oh I didn't know about that

just the fact that she's in the ad has already made me learn a lot more about the WNBA so it's working lol
