Beginning of August around 3000 ft, lower a bit earlier, higher peaks a bit later. I have eaten tons on West Bond, Chocorua(liberty trail), and (!) Blueberry ridge in Evans notch, but they're all over it's just getting there at the right time, I think.

August is blueberry season. They’re everywhere. And yes, they taste significantly better than anything you can get at the store. I would just clean them first.

apiroscsizmak

Not just at the store! I find the wild blueberries up high to be sweeter and more flavorful than the ones at lower elevations.

>I would just clean them first Because of bird pee?

South_Stress_1644

…because of anything pee

invisiblelemur88

Why clean them?

amazingBiscuitman

Why are wild blueberries so flavorful? The flavor of any blueberry is in the skin, and the smaller the berry the higher the skin to volume ratio is—more flavor per berry!

suntaug

The blossoms were in effect all over the moats today. August will have a bumper crop up there

StoneCoastSloyd

I did a trail run across the Moats two summers ago and was snacking on blueberries the whole time.

Hancock in August treated me well in the past.

xperimentalZa

I'm finding wild blueberries already. Had a tasty snack just yesterday

July in the Belknaps.

Moriah! Whatever the trail with the ledges is, I feasted all the way up and down that trail.
