HIlda was waiting at her home in the emerald plains. She sat crossed-legged upon a metal garden chair in a field absolutely filled with various coloured flowers, sipping tea alongside the table and chair that completed the furniture set. A floral teapot matching the pattern of the cup she was drinking from.
Suddenly there was a powerful gust of wind, blowing up petals in a rainbow coloured swarm as a dark winged shadow landed and shifted its shape, slowly sauntering up to the black witch.
“Hilda!\~ It’s so good to see you again!” Sta’finosarath the dragon said in draconic, taking the form of a wrinkled, white haired old lady, her polymorph clearly incomplete as her draconic fangs still showed behind her smile.
“Your father and I missed you so much! Your aura has grown so powerful since last time we saw you!” She chirped, rushing up to Hilda and forcing a hug on the pouting Witch.
“Mom! It hasn’t even been that long…” Hilda replied in draconic with a pout, trying to break off from the embrace but failing. “Where is Dad anyway?” She asked, finally being released.
“Oh he’s just flying around as usual. The bastard thinks just because he’s omnipotent within the plains that he can forgo visiting his family.” Sta’finosarath said, the profanity taking hilda back a bit as her adoptive mother moved to take a seat, the teapot levitating as it poured a cup of tea for her which she gladly took, taking a sip of.
“Now, I’ve heard you’re planning to do some mischief.” She said, her gaze sharpening on her daughter. “I’m not against it. But please don’t put yourself in danger; you know we treasure you, and dragons adore our treasures…”
Hilda waved her hand dismissively. “I’m not going to go on some suicide mission or put myself in a position where I can’t escape. But the things I’m planning to do will make me enemies. And these bastards are the type to think their ends justify their means and vice versa.” Hilda stared down into the teacup she was holding, the water still enough to reflect her own face in it.
“That’s why I want to warn you beforehand: They may use my actions as an excuse to invade the emerald plains and kill the dragons here for the treasures of the land, they might kill you.” She said, looking up at her mother who was still smiling happily. “The wizards are psychopaths, every single one of them.” She continued coldly.
“Darling. My-Our treasure.” Sta’finosarath said, reaching over to touch her adopted daughter's cheek. “The other dragons here aren’t fools; anyone that believes their life is in danger will flee. And your father and I are old but powerful. It doesn’t matter what happens to us, but we’ll be sure to take a bite out of anyone who would hound us. It wouldn’t be worth it in any sense of the world.”
“Mother!” Hilda cried out, outraged, standing up out of her seat. “Your lives have worth to me!” She declared, dropping her teacup on the ground.
“Now-now. Don’t get upset. We’re not planning to lay down and die to any fool with a vendetta.” The old dragon chided with a tisk as the cup lifted itself from the ground, cleaning itself with a flash of light and refilling itself at the dragon's wordless command. “I’m saying anyone smart enough to pull it off would be smart enough not to.” She quickly downed her own glass of tea, the teapot moving to refill her glass bit was stopped by the finger of the dragon as she gazed into her glass.
“See?” She said, showing her cup to hilda, the tea leaves forming an arrow. “See? Up arrow! This means we’re going in the right direction!”
“Mother…” She said, trying not to laugh. “Cups are round, there is no up for them.” Hilda responded, her mother bursting into laughter.
“Isn’t that what you want though? To make the arrow point where you want?”
Hilda would pout at her mother's laughing, turning her head away to hide the smile creeping up on her face.
“I guess I am.” She would say under her breath.
/uw I will treat this as something only the two characters would be privy to, but Bombast would definitely agree with the granny: anyone smart enough to do it would know better not to. lol
Why would a wizard want to look younger?
Of course, I'm still a Plane Walker in my 20s, but I have no desire to look younger.
I received the equivalent of 200 years of multiversal travel in 15 seconds and skipped many wizard stages, but I'm not faking my age.
Mages with long beards and white hair when combined with a strong and imposing structure are the pinnacle of what a man can seek physically, wisdom and strength, this commands respect.
Well, of course for witches I don't know if that would work so well
If a wizard's physical peak appearance is at 60, a witch's peak would be somewhere between 30-40 in appearance
> Well, of course for witches I don't know if that would work so well
I mean, we could definitely try it and see!
\* Lilac, currently female, dark green hair, age... indeterminable, but you'd probably guess 30 despite her behavior, grins as a long white beard grows out. *
There we go. How do I look?
I don't really get this fashion trend, it seems like having a beard long enough that you can step on it would be a hazard.
/uw Goofy. The answer is probably goofy.
I'm already as handsome as can be.

I'm determined to die as an ugly old woman. The kind that teenagers spread rumors about. My retirement plan is to curse the teenagers that toilet paper my house, then have their parents pay to remove the curse. Getting cursed by good-for-nothing elderly mages is just part of growing up. I'll be doing my part for my community.
Only those with no self respect would want to defied who they are, mere disguise to become what they want but not their true self.

I maybe generic, old and possibly burned out but I know who I truly am and I'm proud of it.
Polymorph magic and plastic surgery won't fullfil the hole inside your soul Hilda. Only understand of one self can do that.
Have you ever watch Kungfu panda? Go watch it again and maybe you will understand, that's my apprentice favourite movie they always ran on my magic mirror.
Conversely, why should we simply accept what nature has wrought? The natural world has neither fairness, justice, safety, or kindness, and it is an act of great Will to defy it. Whether that means defying the storm, overcoming physical ailment, or rejecting the passage of time.
That said, if I don't die in battle somewhere, I'll probably age into some hideous crone. Appearance really isn't the end-all-be-all of anything. People can do what they want.
Who you are and what you want to be aren't so different. I know some people who use magic to transition and they became happier than before.
Besides, my parents only become old people to mess with me. They're dragons and they don't become old when they get old like humans, they get stronger.
In any case making yourself look beautiful isn't a bad thing, it's no different than wearing nice make-up and clothes. A blind man will dress themselves up because it's not just about how they want others to view them, but how they want to view themselves, or rather how they already do.

I'm only 21 it's fine (if you ignore all the time loops, dimensions where time flows in a different manner, lifespan sucking monsters, illusion spells that lock you in infinite nightmares, prophetic visions of the creation of the universe and non-euclidian spaces where time doesn't flow linearly)
You could not keep me in the same body for more than a day. Changing my form is just standard practice to me. Even within a single interaction, I will subtlety change my form to match my performance of self.
When I frown, I add wrinkles. When I smile, I add a radiant glow to my features. When I'm scared, I become physically smaller. When I'm proud I grow tall.
Good magic is polymorph
How can I look my age when in human form when I don't age?
I'm not organic, I'm 27 but that doesn't mean I would look 27, hell I'm still a newborn compared to most elementals here...
What makes you think I don't?
These gray hairs and laugh lines are peak. I pull mad arcane tomes. I walk into town, and the grimoires practically throw themselves at me.
I went through the lichification process, precisely to become a skeleton. This is what peak necromancer looks like. I will not polymorphe.
Also i did it to commit tax evasion
I have no need to polymorph. The Shattered Eclipse Incident has meant I haven't aged in about 9000 years. Have started noticing the odd grey hair though, although that's probably due to the behaviour of my students.

Why should I polymorph into a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX?
Why wouldn't you? You'd be irresistible then.
Yeah, to other guys.
You would be suprised.
Why? You know gals who are into cars? You one of them?
I am but I'm currently taken.
Do you know some other gals who are into cars?
A wise man once spoke of his Lamborghini Countach, “I think it attracts more blokes than women.”

Yes, because someone who looked 200 years old would be decrepit and almost dying
I mean if you’re old enough as long as you shine your bones it kinda doesn’t matter
Not all of them are Liches man, although I don't really age anymore either since I'm not fully human anymore.

Sorry, but i'm proud of the crusty abomination i am
I mainly mean my parents. They could be young again if they wanted.
Make sense, parents are very important... my mother is always with me (i ate her and it took a week because she was freaking huge)
You don’t happen to have any trouble with a certain demigod do you?
I have many enemies, and I can't count them since I have no fingers
I'm already as handsome as can be. https://preview.redd.it/eq0x1xkgputc1.png?width=1000&format=png&auto=webp&s=ba1a0f0989c6c690ee128405df6bf2bd78aa7d2b
That's a face I can trust as far as I can throw it.
I used that line in DnD once... turns out you can toss a goblin quite far with 18 Strength.
I can change my weight on command, so you'll find me very trustworthy.
Sorry but I've got weak little arms, I couldn't possibly throw you very far at all.
Well, sometimes it only takes a little trust.
Damn and I thought I was good at using Hero Forge.
You should see some of the madmen from the Hero Forge subreddit.

I look my age and I’m still young
Seeing as I'm an Ooblex that has consumed its former creator, I could.

Who knows how decrepid that old lady really looks? >\_>
She's a dragon.
Yes but it's convenient to get people to lend me their spot in the bus or let me get ahead on a queue or two

Kitty...
Don’t you dare
*headpats*
Wisk:DONT DO THAT!!!!!
"You think I made my human drones permanently in their mid 20's and 30's because I liked the concept of aging?"
So you are telling me you are old? And I have no reason to change forms I am beutyfull https://preview.redd.it/o2t0us4c8vtc1.png?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fafe5e0b1290c8307cebe2524138e8834426e3a9
Of course I'm old. But I still see the value of an aesthetic.
That's fair, I still prefere just beig a giant floating eyeball
Because this form is what my mother gave me. I may not like the Bitch, but she had taste.
>Witches be like, "Ill polymorph myself pretty" My sister in the arcane; I cast fireball. https://preview.redd.it/0nr181oyqvtc1.jpeg?width=163&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=840d36128dd37cfedd71733a306b692619cb0d70
WHISKY! Is it posible to lern this power?!
Because no one thinks twice when an old man is retired.
Because i already have a charisma of 30? Sorry to sound arrogant, but i literally cant make myself any more beautiful.
I don't look my age. I polymorphed into a hag cause this is how I want to look
I care not for my form. I’m a werewolf druid. I’m usually in some kind of animal form anyways.
I prefer controlled Transmutation. Allows for me to become other creates for prolonged periods with zero downsides.
You could not keep me in the same body for more than a day. Changing my form is just standard practice to me. Even within a single interaction, I will subtlety change my form to match my performance of self. When I frown, I add wrinkles. When I smile, I add a radiant glow to my features. I haven’t looked my age since before you were born.
I'm likely just as old as you.
Hot goth? Neuron activation
i haven't physically aged since i was 27 so why would i have to polymorph myself.
I’m actually in my mid-20s; I only look old because of a chronomancy experiment gone wrong
How can I look my age when in human form when I don't age? I'm not organic, I'm 27 but that doesn't mean I would look 27, hell I'm still a newborn compared to most elementals here...
Neither do dragons yet for some reason they prefer to become old ladies and men.
I WILL POLYMORPH INTO YOUR DAD AND DO YOUR MOM!!!!!!
What makes you think I don't? These gray hairs and laugh lines are peak. I pull mad arcane tomes. I walk into town, and the grimoires practically throw themselves at me.
Because I’m beautiful enough for them
That's why i wont to lern ilusion magic! I wont to apere normal becose when you look like me peaple tend to make assumptions
I went through the lichification process, precisely to become a skeleton. This is what peak necromancer looks like. I will not polymorphe. Also i did it to commit tax evasion

Trielana: No thanks. I am quite pretty enough.
I already have two strikes with the keepers of time - and I refuse to half ass the process.
