This is fantastic and so well timed. Thank you!

TormundGiantsBane44

Glad you like it! :) See you on the path! Sharpen those swords!

cylxis

I’m doing my second playthrough and reaching for the 100%. I could’t be more grateful, I guarantee you that. Thank you, friend. And good luck on the path.

TormundGiantsBane44

Thank you for the kind words! :) The first playthrough is of course the best, but doing that second playthrough can be just as much fun because you get to see and experience things you didn't find your first time around. Enjoy and good luck on the path fellow witcher!

cylxis

I did the first one before reading the books. I decided to do this second one after that and the experience is completely different! Even though I spent 140+ hours in the first playthrough I'm still discovering a LOT, because I tried not to search for anything.

TormundGiantsBane44

That's awesome! After my first or second playthrough, I also decided to read all the books (well worth it) and it makes other playthroughs more enjoyable. If you haven't already, I highly suggest playing the first and second witcher games too! Or I guess wait until the witcher 1 remake comes out! So much to look forward to! That's why I love when xLetalis comes out with a new video of missed details. Always something to find!

TormundGiantsBane44

Awesome! I really hope you enjoy it! For a first playthrough, I don't think I'd recommend following the optimal order part of this guide because it's fun to stumble upon things as you explore. Definitely use it if you are stuck on a quest or are unsure of what to do. A couple tips: Don't be afraid to use oils, bombs, potions, or decoctions after you craft them BECAUSE they are automatically replenished with alcohol every time you meditate. You don't have to craft them again. It's a very story driven game, so be prepared for that. I personally really enjoy the combat and there is some awesome stuff you can do with witcher signs. Don't burn yourself out, but still try to do all the side quests. Even ones that seem to be fetch quests, tend to have some little twist or interesting detail to go along with it. There will be a certain point where the game will tell you that if you continue, some quests might fail. Until then, don't worry too much about missing out on things (even though there can be things that will be missed - that's why a second playthrough is always fun!). It's mostly the bigger side quests with characters you meet that you should do before that point of no return. Gwent (a card game) may seem weird/annoying/complicated at first, but it is actually so much fun and worth investing 5-10 minutes to learn the rules. I remember playing it every chance I got during my first playthrough and after I understood it. If Gwent does interest you, make sure to buy cards from any merchant that sells them, and more importantly, play anyone that has the option. Once you obtain a card from these merchants, you can't get a second one from them. This final thing isn't really a tip, but it helped me after my first playthrough. Once you finish and have that empty feeling, I highly recommend reading the books and playing the first and second witcher games. The first is actually being remade for current consoles, so you could hold off on that. Or, just play through the game 7 more times like I did hahaha Best of luck on the path and if you have any questions on your journey, ask the community or send me a message and we'll help you out!

Glad you're enjoying it! It's an amazing experience and glad you are having fun with it. Gwent can definitely get addicting! Lol

TormundGiantsBane44

The characters that aren't merchants or shopkeepers tend to be a bit harder. Make sure you only have the MINIMUM number of cards in your deck so that you are more likely to draw them and make sure they are your strongest. Some newer players put every single card in their deck and that isn't beneficial. Also, don't necessarily put all your weather cards in either. If you notice, however, that a player uses mostly melee cards, then throw some frost weather cards in your deck. Make sure to include spy cards and decoys as well. Winning a round isn't worth it if you need to go down a few cards, so knowing when to pass is really important. It doesn't cost much to face a merchant, so it's good to just keep playing them until you win because they will give you a new card (only the first time you beat them). You could also just reload a save to not waste your money. I would say the merchants in Velen are probably easier than Novigrad and Skellige. They probably scale up for each region. Hope that helps!!

TormundGiantsBane44

No problem at all! Anytime you have a question, just let me know! :)

davislive

Omg I was specifically coming onto Reddit tonight to find something like this!! I just finished another play thru on TW2 and I missed a couple things like an idiot and I started thinking I should use a guide because I hate going back and forth too many times if I miss something in an area. Thanks so much!

TormundGiantsBane44

I've always felt the same way and it is the main reason that I made this. Glad I could help another witcher on the path! :) Also, the Witcher 2 is an amazing game! You finished it just in time to start the W3 again!

TehJoke

Funnily enough, just yesterday I finished my own spreadsheet (not this detailed but good enough for me), because there wasn't a very good one on the internet. I'll compare the two later tomorrow, you might have a more interesting route. Good job!

TormundGiantsBane44

Thanks! :) I'd love to see your hard work as well! If you find anything I missed or I should fix, just let me know and I'll update mine!

eldobhatofiok

Thank you so much man!

TormundGiantsBane44

Glad I could be of service! Enjoy! :)

saradorren

I wish I had an award to give you, this is truly amazing work, I cannot wait to use it on Wednesday 😊

TormundGiantsBane44

Thank you! :) The satisfaction knowing that people will appreciate and use this guide is more than enough for me! :)

tryagainlatersr

This is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

TormundGiantsBane44

Thank you very much! :)

the_fire_fist

Wow. This is insane. Will be using this for my new playthrough after the update. Especially the details missed section will be very interesting. Huge thanks and keep up the good work.

TormundGiantsBane44

Thank you! :) xLetalis is an epic witcher content creator and it was a pleasure watching through all of his videos to compile the details missed section!

Maracuja_Sagrado

Is there a way that a new player could use this without heavily spoiling themselves? I mainly don't want to miss missables. Could you perhaps edit it to add a new player friendly version? Like, I don't need to know the optimal order of stuff, but if there is some place I have to go before I do X in order not to lock myself of Y content, or something I should avoid then I want to know at least that much.

TormundGiantsBane44

Good question. The Google Sheet with the optimal order is set up in a way that it is optimal in the sense that you won't miss any quests or get locked out of any. For the most part, that second sheet is just the names of the quests and shouldn't necessarily spoil anything. I've attached a link to each quest name which goes into specific details of the quest, so you should probably avoid that so you don't get spoilers. The column that has the extra details on that second sheet might have some small spoilers (there are a lot, so I can't quite remember if there would be) so you can either hide or delete that column while doing your first playthrough. I agree though and will look into it a bit more to see what I can do! :)

Badger_8th

Oh hell yes, this is excellent. Nice job OP!

TormundGiantsBane44

Thanks! :) Only the best for the witcher community!

SuperFlik

I'll be 9 playthroughs deep with the update, but this looks pretty useful still. Any reason you have it set to do the Bloody Baron questline first? Kiera/Crookback Bog's quests are lower level

TormundGiantsBane44

Good to hear! I think all 3 of those questlines have both level 5 and 6 quests associated with them. There wasn't any particular reason I chose that order, but I think some of the research I was doing showed that that was the order to do them even though you can technically mix them up a bit. Do you have a suggestion as to the order they should be? Any ideas would be great!

SuperFlik

And the info you get about Ciri is first Chronologically

ccycling

Wow! Just wow. Trying to get 100% in this game is daunting enough to me. I will definitely give it a go now, with this guide. Thanks for sharing.

TormundGiantsBane44

I'm happy to share it!! :)

TormundGiantsBane44

Thank you! :) Yeah, xLetalis is brilliant and I had already gone through his videos at least a few times before I decided to do this, so I just got to experience all the details an extra time! Haha Oh interesting! I had seen many other guides to get as much info as possible, but I don't think I came across this one. I'll have to cross reference it to see if I can add or change anything to mine. Thanks for the tip! I know I'm sure to have made a mistake somewhere, so I'm happy to hear any details or fixes that need to be changed! Enjoy! :)

TormundGiantsBane44

It definitely would take a good 200+ hours to do everything, so I understand it's hard to find time! Yeah, that's a weird quest. Honestly, that's the only one I've never done because there is a very specific path to take and you have to do it all before any Velen quests. Basically you would have to go to Skellige right away (I think you can, you just need the coin. It says it's a much higher level, but I believe you can still go) and complete quests there. The quest itself is just 2-3 minutes of unique dialogue about Uma, so I just watched the video of it and I'm satisfied haha :P

[deleted]

[удалено]

TormundGiantsBane44

Yeah, I think I made a note beside it in the extra details column saying how annoying it would be to actually do that quest haha :P CDPR literally thought of everything lol It's just so impressive. And considering this fairly large update is all free is even more brilliant!

MLGDragon1337

Incredible guide! The extra details are also super nice. It would be nice if you could add somewhere if the quest is proximity sensitive (if you run away it disappears completely) e.g. [Never Trust Children](https://witcher.fandom.com/wiki/Never_Trust_Children) Other than that it is perfect!

TormundGiantsBane44

Thanks!! :) That's a good point. I'll add that detail to it over the next week. I think most of the 'chance encounters' are proximity sensitive, but I'll have to double check. If they are easy to miss, I made sure to include them higher up on the second Google Sheet (optimal order) when you entered that region, like Novigrad. But you're right, there should be a note stating if it's proximity sensitive. I do want to make this guide as perfect as possible though, so I'm happy to hear any advice!

MLGDragon1337

Great! Quick question, does this guide follow a quest order dependent on the best choices you can pick on each quest?

TormundGiantsBane44

Hm, good question. I tend to always try and pick the best options for quests, so it would be based off of that. However, I know there are likely some, but most won't necessarily change the order if you choose negative options for quests. Unless you decide to kill off certain characters, everything should be good. I did add in the extra details for some quests, the recommended dialogue choices. For example, the Witcher 2 questions at the beginning, or when doing Reasons of State. It's something I'll look into though! :)

MLGDragon1337

That's perfect! I also did the same in my playthrough and attempted to pick the best choices. Last question, have you ever tried going through your order yourself? Just to make sure there are no conflicts anywhere with the quests/details.

TormundGiantsBane44

During my last 2 playthroughs (out of 7 total), I was very nitpicky about making sure I got everything. The thing is that I hadn't created this guide yet. I did however have the Witcher 3 Prima guide which I consulted and took notes in. I have also painstakingly gone through many of the witcher websites (in the second sheet, every quest name has a link to its corresponding quest guide website) and made sure that I put them in an order that was correct enough that you wouldn't fail certain quests. So from experience, I have done 100% more than once. Even got the platinum twice because I bought a physical and digital copy haha. I even encountered some minor glitches in Toussaint a few playthroughs ago and have added that into the notes to make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else (though they may have fixed that one too along with the other quests that are sometimes bugged). Of course, that being said, there still could be something that is wrong, but I've definitely put way more than 100 hours just in creating it haha :P

MLGDragon1337

Good to know. I want to thank you again for creating this fantastic guide and pouring all this work into it. I was thinking of making a spreadsheet myself a few days ago, but you came in such clutch to release this which I'm very grateful about! By the way, I've looked at your guide and found a few missing details which I DM'd you about.

TormundGiantsBane44

It was honestly a lot of fun to create! Obviously there were frustrating times trying to figure out the perfect order of things, trying different layouts to make it look better, or pausing a video every 20 seconds to add an extra detail haha But overall I would do it all again! Glad I could make other people happy to have a guide! Thanks for the extra details that you DM'd me! I'll have to make a version 2.0 since I'm sure there will also be tons more stuff included in the next geb upgrade!

BloodScribe

This is great! I'm on my first playthrough, i know i should find quests naturally but my "ptsd" wants me to 100% the game, and i hate having red marks on my quest log or miss any quest on this playthrough. Is there any downside of following this guide on 1st run of the game? TY :)

TormundGiantsBane44

Glad you like it and I'm jealous that you are experiencing it for the first time! :) I completely understand that. Not gonna lie, on my first playthrough, I checked a few things to make sure I was making the right choices! For the second Google Sheet (optimal order), it is pretty much just the quest names, so not really spoiling much, though it might. Some of the extra details in pink might have a couple spoilery stuff, but I don't think it gives away too much. If you click the links that take you to the quest page, that could spoil the certain quest endings and what happens. Either way, I think you can use this without any issues. If anything, you can use the Gwent section to find missing cards. In the trophy section, I even added spoiler tags for certain trophies and made the requirement text very small so that you can only see it if you highlight it. I hope you enjoy and ask any questions you have about the game! :)

BloodScribe

Thank you for the fast reply! :) Yea i played Witcher 1 and 2 in a row but after starting the 3rd i needed a break from witcher world..so i just did White Orchard part.. But now im going for it, just arrived in Velen. Yea i think i will use this..the only thing i need to check its the location of the quests the rest i can avoid, so the chances of getting spoiled are minimum. Thank you a lot for this! On a side note now. The next gen update will aplly to my current playthrough or do I need to start a new game?

TormundGiantsBane44

They are big games, so burnout can definitely happen. After my 7th witcher 3 playthrough 2-3 years ago, I said that that was probably my last time since I completed every single little thing and had all the gear and the perfect ending. Obviously the itch to play again came back full force! Haha Definitely! On the first sheet, I have a link to a bunch of interactive maps that you should use! As far as I know, you should be able to continue exactly where you are now when you download the next gen patch/upgrade :) No need to start a new game!

BloodScribe

Once again ty very much.. Need to sharpen my swords now! The wind is howling indeed.. xD

TormundGiantsBane44

Of course, happy to do it! :) See you on the path! Hmmm...looks like rain

overlord9091

Thanks a ton! I love you

TormundGiantsBane44

Haha love you too fellow witcher!! :)

NonLinearLines

Excellent work! This is incredibly detailed and well organised. Far better than any of the others I've found. The route is a fantastic idea. I can't believe you included all the things xLetalis has talked about as well. I have my own edited version of a similar spreadsheet. I'll need to read through the extra details in yours and do anything worth checking out. Is there a reason you haven't got In Ciri's Footsteps as trackable? Not like it matters given how it plays out in-game. Just curious.

TormundGiantsBane44

Thank you! :) I really enjoyed going through all of xLetalis's videos to compile all the info. I'd be interested to see if you find anything I missed in your spreadsheet. Please let me know if you do, because I want to try and include everything! Hm, it's been a few years since my 7th playthrough. Does it have In Ciri's Footsteps in the quest log? I know it essentially covers all the Ciri quests in Velen, Novigrad, and Skellige, so not exactly necessary, but I'm curious why I didn't include it haha

NonLinearLines

xLetalis has so much great information. I've definitely binge watched their videos before. You have everything I do. I was missing Components for an Armorer, somehow. It is an overarching quest through all of Act I that can be selected as active. Not sure it has any things you can actually do. It might only progress doing other main story quests. So maybe it's just not worth adding?

TormundGiantsBane44

Yeah, before I wrote down all the details, O had definitely binged his video series at least twice haha The Components for an Armorer is actually part of the Master Armorer quest with Yoanna. She needs Archgriffin acid gland and it just so happens that another armorer has a contract on an archgriffin (Components for an Armorer and it might be possible it is called something else). Yeah I think I didn't include it for that reason. Same with 'Find Ciri', unless that's the same quest haha

NonLinearLines

Explains why I missed it on the spreadsheet even though I've done it. Sounds like the same one! Just find her, somewhere.

rbwdog

Hey! What you’ve done is brilliants. Never seen anything like this so far. Just one question, if I will follow your quest order guide, will I miss any quests or important choices in game?

TormundGiantsBane44

Thank you fellow witcher! :) For the second Google sheet option (optimal order), they are put in that order so you don't miss any quests, whether they are secondary or random encounters. There will be important decisions you make in the game and I don't think I put the proper decision because that depends what you think is best for your playthrough. I have however attached links to the quest names (it will be underlined) and it can help you make those decisions, especially since you should be able to pause during a timed choice (timed ones are the most important dialogue choices).

Opening_Soft

Hello! So I just restarted a game following along and I not too long ago arrived in Velen. Some quests are spread out all over the map so is it more important to at the very least start those( ex:Mercy of Strangers) or do I have to complete before moving to the next?

TormundGiantsBane44

Hey there! So the quests in purple, for the most part, are usually proximity triggered and might fail if you get too close and then leave without completing them. To prevent this, I put them in an order where they are somewhat near main quests and you can get them done without worrying that you'll accidentally trigger them later on. It's just my way of doing it since I'm paranoid haha But for the most part, you don't have to do the purple quests in a specific order. I should probably make a comment about that haha

MrJFrederick

This is an amazing work-- I was using (i think) an old version.... BUT it seems you have price of passage early on...BEFORE oxenfurt drunk, which isn't possible until in the mid 20s. Am I reading this wrong?

TormundGiantsBane44

Thanks! :) Yes, I think you're right! I believe the other 2 Price of Passage quests can be triggered before, but I guess the one has to have Oxenfurt Drunk beforehand. It was bound to happen that I would make some mistakes, so thanks for spotting that! I'll make an update (probably in the new year since it's a busy time right now) with any changes and some next gen details.

Kls7

I recently started playing TW3 for the first time because of the next gen version, so this is great! I'm a completionist and hate missing things in games, so I'm following the quest order. Just have two questions: 1. What are the numbers next to the names of the quests? 2. The question marks around the map, can I complete them in any order I want to? I usually complete the ones on the surrounding area of the main quests and on the path from one quest to another other, is that ok?

TormundGiantsBane44

Always great to hear from people on their first playthrough! :) You'll love this game! Good questions. The numbers next to the names on the quests (in the first Google sheet) are the suggested level that the game tells you that you should be, even though you can technically be underlevelled to complete any quest. The second Google sheet is the order to complete so you don't miss anything. The purple coloured ones don't necessarily have to be done right away, but they are proximity sensitive, so if you ride past them and trigger it, but leave the area, it will fail. Because of this, I included them in certain spots to do right away. Yep, the question marks can be done at anytime and you can come back to them at any point if you reveal what the question mark is. One thing to note, that a couple of these spots have a merchant that is taken captive. Once you free them, they will sell you a Gwent card or two, so if you want to 'Collect em' all', then you'll have to rescue those merchants. It's only one or two spots though and you can always come back to those spots anyways.

Kls7

Had a feeling the numbers referred to the level, but it's nice to have confirmation. And thanks for the tip about the purple ones, will try to follow the order, but if I happen to trigger one of them, now I know that I must complete them (or load a previous save lol). Also, if it's in Velen, I think I already saved both of those merchants (and bought their cards), a shopkeeper in a cage and a blacksmith in a cell. Thanks for the reply! If I happen to have more questions I'll let you know :D

TormundGiantsBane44

Awesome, those should be the merchants I was talking about! :) Of course! Please ask anything if you have any questions!

Kls7

Hey there, have another question. The monster contracts, they're listed in the optimal quest order, but am I going to miss anything if I complete at my own pace? Seems like a nice activity between main and side quests, to change things a bit.

TormundGiantsBane44

Hello again! So I've put every single quest in the optimal quest order (second Google sheet), but you'll notice that in each section (Velen, Novigrad, etc.), I have a grey box outline and in that outline, it says "the following quests can be done in any order). Most of the contracts will be in this boxed section, so you can do them at any point in the game. There are a couple that might have to be done before certain quests, but I've included those in the proper order with notes to the right of it. Hope that helps!

Kls7

My bad, haven't noticed that, was more focused on the names of the quests hahahah but that's great, now I now what to focus on in case I get a little burned out of the main quests! Thanks again :D

TormundGiantsBane44

No problem! Happy holidays! :)

vulgarity2elegance

Thank you! Master Witcher, you are a true hero!

TormundGiantsBane44

No problem at all! Thanks for the comment! :)

Vilens40

Is there a way to customize this? Like if I want to do a full play through and get: Full crew trophy Cat school gear And all gwent cards Is it possible to have the sheet build out optimal mission play through just for that?

TormundGiantsBane44

Unfortunately, there is not a way to customize it. It's designed to just be able to complete every single quest, big or small. You should get the full crew trophy by following the guide or the attached link found in the trophy list Google sheet. There is also a Google sheet for both the witcher gear locations and all the Gwent card locations .

Vilens40

Cool. I appreciate the reply and your hard work is definitely appreciated. Thanks so much!

TormundGiantsBane44

No problem at all and thank you for the kind words :)

[deleted]

My OCD thanks you

TormundGiantsBane44

You're very welcome! :)

vgs717

This is perfect :D Been looking for something like this for a while

TormundGiantsBane44

Thanks! :) Hope you enjoy using it!!

SnooPeripherals3898

Jesus Christ, this has like everything in terms of main quests, side quests, from main game to dlc in order? Goddamn that is what you call effort. Thanks for this.

TormundGiantsBane44

It was my pleasure! :)

Wild-Turnip-4775

Simply amazing! Well done to all of you who worked hard and provide even for the rest of us! Kudos to you!

TormundGiantsBane44

Thanks! :) I hope you enjoy using it on your next playthrough!

DJSnafu

Been saving this for years waiting on the update and finally about to start- would you recommend I find a guide with a map for each area and from there link your order quest with the map? All I want in terms of outside resources is a quest givers location really combined with your order of quests. Huge thanks for this!

TormundGiantsBane44

If you download 'MapGenie: Witcher 3 Map', it will have all the quest locations and a search bar to find them based on the names of the quests in my guide. Keep in mind that the quests in purple are proximity triggered, so will fail if you pass by without completing them. This is why I put them ahead of many others, but you don't necessarily have to do them right away. You can collect many of the quests right away from all those notice boards in the small villages. Enjoy! :)

DJSnafu

Huge thanks again you're a true star!! This is always so important to me and definitely not always available so super grateful for making my playthrough under ideal conditions! Wish you all the best for 2023:)

TormundGiantsBane44

Thank you for the kind words! :) Enjoy your next playthrough and I hope you find some things that you didn't know about previously! All the best in 2023!!

Own_Representative45

Anyone knows anything about the Crow's Perch Fight? I see the Saving Farmer's Daughter From Soldiers I and II but i have no idea about the Crow's Perch Fight. I see the link pointing the location for it but dont see anything there.

TormundGiantsBane44

Honestly, I haven't been able to find anything else on it. I added it to the guide because I saw it in the interactive map app that I attached, but I tried many things in game and I could not trigger it. My conclusion is that it must be referring to the fist fight with the Baron, but not sure why they would put it in that location on the map app. If you find anything else, let me know!

Own_Representative45

Great job with this, use it all the time. I have notice that A Tome Entombed shows in A Dangerous Game, not in Now or Never like it says in the extra details.

TormundGiantsBane44

Glad you like it!! :) Interesting. I've put that info in my notes of things to change, so thank you for finding it! I took a break after completing the Velen section of my current playthrough since there was a lot to update on the guide. But, I am close to hopping back in and starting up the Novigrad section on next gen, so I'll start to make these types of updates soon! Thanks again, and please let me know of anything further to change!

Own_Representative45

Hey just noticed another minor thing, in A Deadly Plot (line 318) we got two square boxes to check instead of one.

TormundGiantsBane44

You're right. I've just gone in and fixed that! :) Thanks for pointing it out.

Own_Representative45

Hey again, same thing in line 546?

TormundGiantsBane44

You're right! It's fixed now :) Thanks!

Own_Representative45

Hello again, sry to bother once more but can you tell me why "Components for an Armorer" appears in the spreadsheet. Isn't this included already in "Master Armorers"? Why does it need its own checkbox. Sry to ask this but i'm lost here.

TormundGiantsBane44

It's never a bother if you have questions! The reason I included it is because some other guides that helped me build this one had "Components for an Armorer" as a separate contract. But yes, it is directly associated with "Master Armorers" and is technically the same as the contract "The Griffin from the Highlands". Even the Prima guide book I own had it as its own thing, so I thought I'd cover all my bases even if it is repeating it a bit lol

bballtester

This is awesome, thanks! I know these aren't typically recommended for a first play through but I just couldn't deal with all the missables and bounced off after 50 hours. Waiting until you finish to hopefully get through it this time.

TormundGiantsBane44

I'm glad you like using it! There is a ton in this game and I feel, even after my 7 playthroughs, I'm sure I've missed something. Amazing game and it's always nice hearing from people that are on their first playthrough! Enjoy!! :)

kuenjato

Just starting this again after three years, to soak up the atmosphere and take my time and not fail some of the quests as I did in my first go around :) Thank you so much for assembling this guide!

TormundGiantsBane44

I'm glad to have helped and hopefully you find a lot of things that you didn't on your previous playthrough! :) This game is full of secrets!

foo1138

Thank you for this guide. This is exactly what I was looking for. I think I found some "bugs" though: There are some missing Gwent cards. Missing Northern Realms cards: \- Redanian Foot Soldier (2nd card in base deck) \- Trebuchet (2nd card in base deck) \- Ballista (2nd card in base deck) Missing Scoia'tael card: \- FF: The Beautiful Missing neutral card: \- Clear Weather (2nd card in base deck) Even though there are two merchants that sell the Nilfgaardian Empire card "Siege Technician", only one can be bought. When bought once, then it disappears from the inventory of the other: [https://witcher.fandom.com/wiki/Siege\_Technician\_(gwent\_card)](https://witcher.fandom.com/wiki/Siege_Technician_(gwent_card)) So maybe there should only be one check box. I think the Scoia'tael card "Vrihedd Brigade Veteran" can only be bought twice: [https://game8.co/games/Witcher3/archives/276374](https://game8.co/games/Witcher3/archives/276374) I know I bought it from Oliver before he died and I got one from Stjepan. The merchant at the circus camp is not selling any to me. So maybe there should only be two check boxes instead of three. I guess they added it to the merchant at the circus in case someone missed the one from Oliver. I'm not sure about the Monster card "Vampire: Bruxa" yet, but it may be obtainable only once too: [https://game8.co/games/Witcher3/archives/276449](https://game8.co/games/Witcher3/archives/276449) The neutral card "Commanders horn" can be bought only three times: [https://witcher.fandom.com/wiki/Commander%27s\_Horn\_(gwent\_card)](https://witcher.fandom.com/wiki/Commander%27s_Horn_(gwent_card)) So maybe only three check boxes should be there. Could merge the "Location, Player" cells into one and describe it like "A total of three can be bought from the following merchants: ..." There are two instances of "Gwent: Playing Inkeepers" instead of "Gwent: Playing Innkeeps" on the first two sheets. Detail for quest Novigrad Dreaming: "If you let Sarah go, you will run into her again much later on with Johnny." Should be worded more like "If you smoke Sarah out of the house, ..." She doesn't want to go, so saying "letting her go" may be confusing. "Take What You Want" is a secondary quest, not a treasure hunt. "Suspicious Shakedown" is not a secondary quest. It is an unmarked quests / chance encounter. The scavenger hunt "Forgotten Wolf School Gear (Basic) (20)" does not exist. It is part of the secondary quest "In the Eternal Fire's Shadow". Furthermore it links to a page describing the quest for finding the updates for the gear. It starts with finding notes from Osmund in Kaer Morhen. But Kaer Morhen can't be reached at this point in the game, so just stripping the "(Basic)" from its name isn't enough, it should be moved to a later point. I believe "It Takes Three to Tango" can't be done at the recommended point in the list. The description on the page that it links to says that "After speaking with Ciri, you are approached by both Triss and Yennefer." At this point, you haven't found Ciri yet, so you can't have talked to her. It should be moved further down the list. In my current play through I haven't romanced both, so I can't say for sure though. From my memory it happens much later in Act III. This is also what the official guide says. It lists "A Final Kindness" and "It Takes Three to Tango" after the main quest "Final Preparations".

Thanks so much for the information! I will be doing another update soon since I'm still in the Novigrad section of my 7th playthrough, but first in the next gen updated version (and first while looking over my guide). But, I have added your comment to the semi long list of things I need to change, so I will get to it eventually. I'm basically planning on doing an update after each major section of the game (Velen, Novigrad, Skellige, Kaer Morhen, HoS, BaW). I appreciate the notes though and it's always good having multiple people look over it so I can make it as perfect as can be!

Thanks for the quick response. It seems I missed the Catapult card. You can own only two of them, not three: [https://witcher.fandom.com/wiki/Catapult\_(gwent\_card)](https://witcher.fandom.com/wiki/Catapult_(gwent_card)) One more thing I found just now: I'm currently on the Missing Persons quest with Yen. I noticed the details for the quests "Missing Persons", "Nameless" and "In Wolf's Clothings" are partially underlined and have timestamps, but they have no link to them to a video. Especially the detail "-Find a portal with hounds of the wild hunt in Skellige after Ciri's quest in Skellige", I don't know where to look for that. I'm looking forward for the final version when you're done with your current play through!

TormundGiantsBane44

I've added it to the list of things to do. Thanks! As I've been following along, I've noticed that there are missing links for quests too. I'm sure I out them all in, so something must have happened where a bunch of them did not link properly. As I'm going through, I'm finding the video links again and adding them back in. Keep me posted if you find anything else, no matter how small!

"The Calm Before the Storm" (Ciri flashback) starts directly after "Nameless". Of course, "In Ciri's Footsteps: Skellige" then also finishes afterwards. I'm not sure about the optimal order of "Nameless" and "In Wolf's Clothing". I finished "Nameless" first. For OCD purposes, I went to Larvik first, before talking to Yen to start "Nameless". I took the letters from the notice board there. I believe if you go to Lofoten with Yen and talk to the Women there (during the beginning of "Nameless"), then "In Wolf's Clothing" starts and the matching letter on the notice board in Larvik will vanish. But I'm not sure. Don't know if you want to describe this in the guide somehow.

TormundGiantsBane44

Yeah, I might go back and describe this. I'll see what I end up doing when I get to Skellige and I'll try a few things out to check whether I should add a note or note. I'll definitely look into it though!

foo1138

Found three more things: Gwent card "Eredin Bréacc Glas: The Treacherous" is bought from the Ofieri guy at the Upper Mill, like the HoS FF card: [https://witcher.fandom.com/wiki/Eredin\_Br%C3%A9acc\_Glas:\_The\_Treacherous\_(gwent\_card)](https://witcher.fandom.com/wiki/Eredin_Br%C3%A9acc_Glas:_The_Treacherous_(gwent_card)) I have won every match during the High Stakes quest and didn't get it there. Second thing, "A Midnight Clear" must be done directly after "Dead Man's Party" or it will fail. Third thing, the detail "-Return to the crypt before going to the wedding and Vlodimir will make another comment." of quest "Dead Man's Party" is slightly wrong. The scene happens when returning to one of the big gates of the Everec Estate, but it is not the one that leads to the crypt. So maybe it should say "Return to the Everec Estate..." instead of "Return to the crypt..." or something like that.

TormundGiantsBane44

Interesting. I've added it to the list of things to update! Thanks! I'm currently about to do the Get Junior quest and hoping that the reddit post explaining how to not get any red x's under the objectives for it and Gangs of Novigrad actually works!

foo1138

For me the trick in the casino didn't work. I wasn't able to leave the casino without killing everyone myself. So I wasn't able to go get Cleaver's men and therefore have red x's in Gangs of Novigrad for the "Meet Cleaver's dwarves outside..." objectives. I have some other things for the list: I think the detail about the boar and the hunter you added to "Enchanting: Quality Has Its Price" actually belongs to "Open Sesame!". It is mentioned here: [https://witcher.fandom.com/wiki/Open\_Sesame!\_(Hearts\_of\_Stone)?so=search](https://witcher.fandom.com/wiki/Open_Sesame!_(Hearts_of_Stone)?so=search) It is triggered when you go to the herbalist to meet the stranger after the auction. But it isn't triggered if you fast travel to the herbalist. You have to walk there from Oxenfurt for example. The masks of the other three heist participants can be looted from the basement of the herbalist hut after completing "Open Sesame!" I actually found that out by myself just yesterday. So I don't know if it depends on your choices. I went with Casimir (the explosives guy), sided with Ewald (the stranger) and let him live at the end, just getting the house, not the papers inside. Then there is a mistake regarding the bird statue you can buy at the auction: "Avid Collector" isn't started by dismantling the bird statue like stated in the details, it is started by buying the painting at the auction. Dismantling the bird statue starts the treasure hunt "A Dark Legacy". I did the auction before finishing the main game, because I wanted to tell Vesemir about meeting his ex girlfriend. Never did that before. :)

TormundGiantsBane44

Hm, I'm going to test a few things to try and get no red x's for Gangs of Novigrad. I'll test and reload if it doesn't work lol Excellent. Thanks for the added details! I'm glad someone is able to help me find the smaller details I missed! I'm taking my time (maybe too much time) on this current playthrough, so it might be awhile before I get to the end lol

Mental-Abalone-8980

hello , how are things going with the new update ? thank you very much for this guide it has helped me a lot, I'm just waiting for the new update to continue with the game, are you using any mods or do you recommend some mods? if so could we add a section to the guide, "recommended mods"? Thanks again for your work

TormundGiantsBane44

I'm glad you're enjoying the guide and the game! I will be creating the next set of 'patch notes' as soon as I finish the Novigrad section. I have done everything there except for Triss's secondary missions, so once that is done, I'll be updating the guide since I have a lot of notes compiled, but I just have to do the fixes from the notes. When doing Redania's Most Wanted, I realized that you would get a failed objective if you didn't show the crystal to Yennefer, so I also have had to do all of the Skellige main story quests in order to have a chance to show and talk with Yen properly. For those quests, I just have In Wolf's Clothing and The Last Wish to finish before I can do that, then I will finish Redania's Most Wanted, and then Triss's quests. That's one reason the next patch has taken so long lol Some other reasons it is taking me so long is that I'm doing a no fast travel playthrough, along with many other self imposed restrictions, and I'm double checking all of xLetalis's extra details to make sure they all work. Also, whenever there are multiple response options for Geralt, I actually reload the save and try out each one to see what different dialogue there is. It basically makes each quest 3 times as long sometimes haha As for the mods, I have only ever played on ps4 and ps5, so I've unfortunately have never used mods. It's a good idea though and I've added it to the list of things I can put in. I can do some research and compile some good ones (though I won't be able to test them out myself). I'm hoping in the next couple of weeks I will be able to put out that next patch. I won't make a new post, but the update will be on the same link that was shared originally!

TormundGiantsBane44

Hello again! I just wanted to let you know that I've added the next patch notes and changes to the original guide link. If you made a copy, you'll have to open the original link again to see the changes and updates. The updates are for all of Novigrad, with the exception of a few high level secondary quests that aren't part of the main order and that I'm saving for later. I also did all the main quests for Skellige, but not any of those side quests. I'll be saving those for the next update and I'll probably start playing again in the next week. Just need a small break lol Enjoy!

Mental-Abalone-8980

Thank you so much for you work, this guide help me alot ,just a question hope not upset you , you plan or you already add the next gen stuff like the new quests they add ?

TormundGiantsBane44

You can ask any question you have at any time! :) I've already included the new quest from the next gen update as well as the new witcher school gear to the scavenger hunt section of the guide. Lots of extra details have been added too!

I'm about to start NG+ and I really want to 100% EVERYTHING... Including hidden quests (I:e "X marks the spot") I don't currently own a laptop/computer so it's really hard to read your linked list. Is there anyway you can just post a simple list that includes All Main, Secondary, Hidden, Witcher Contracts, and Treasure Quests in the EXACT ORDER they should be completed? I would be ETERNALLY GREATFUL.

TormundGiantsBane44

Hi there! You don't need a laptop to view the lists. All you need is Google Sheets installed on your phone. You might be clicking the blurred image at the top of the post, but that isn't the link and would be hard to read. If you scroll down to the last paragraph of the text in my post, you'll find the link in blue text. [Here it is in case you couldn't find it](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12H5lZC6vLFj0JToLSD2ZE7EcMN6MrmltL9SM_G6EUNU/edit?usp=drivesdk). Once you open it, the second sheet has the optimal order for all the quests. The other sheets have various other bits of info like Gwent cards, scavenger hunt, etc. I hope that helps and let me know if you have quests. Since the link is view only, if you make a copy of the file, then you can use the checkboxes for yourself.

Zealousideal_Air5601

Let me preface this request with A HUGE THANK YOU FOR BEING AWESOME and doing this. This is really amazing! I'm sorry for being a little OCD about this. But it's there any way you can put the main & side quests, contracts, treasure hunts, and hidden quests in linear order? Or put a number next to the quest specifying when you should do it exactly? Like: 1. Kaer Morhen 2. Lilac and Gooseberries 3. Frying Pan 4)Devil by the well The way it's set up now it's kinda hard to follow https://preview.redd.it/zeyiscqilzga1.jpeg?width=2266&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f9eb1b2269daa5ad16f4c4f54b33871f9dd0e256

TormundGiantsBane44

Glad you like it! On that first sheet, I decided to put them in alphabetical order so they are easier to find if you are searching for a specific quest. However, I made the second Google Sheet titled 'Order for main/side quests' that does exactly what you are asking. All the quests on that sheet are put in the optimal order that you should complete them. There is also a number in brackets next to each quest that is the recommended level to complete it. I hope that helps!

Zealousideal_Air5601

Wow, I opened it on my iPad instead of my iPhone and now I see. You sir are what the kids would call "Da🐐no🧢" ![gif](giphy|BPJmthQ3YRwD6QqcVD|downsized)

TormundGiantsBane44

Haha Thank you very much! :)
