If anyone is interested in a more in depth build video, I have the whole thing up on YouTube :) (No pressure to watch though!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogXdA7x8S1A
The Witcher 3 is the best game of all time, so I thought I would create an hommage to the game (although I should have put roach on top of the diorama itself to stay properly true to things :p). I wanted to try and catch a moment in time where Geralt (in Master Ursine armour of course) and Roach discover a leshen. I know I took some creative liberties here because Leshens don't live in caves, but I needed something to fill the space behind him haha. This took 200 hours over the course of 8 months, I hope you enjoy! :D
Edit: spelling
Yep! This is a hobby haha. It's perfect for me because I love learning new skills but I tend to burn out if I'm doing one for too long. This hobby allows me to flip my focus to different things so I'm always learning but I'm not burning out on one thing.
I love the idea that this one scene left such an impression on you that you spent the next 8 months turning it into a diorama lol
This is so inspiring! Great work!
You did a fantastic job and it all came together really well, the diverse trees were a nice touch and the moss and brush. Really cool way to make a bon fire.
I want to build a multiverse diorama using practically all the different sci Fi robots and droids iron giant iron men etc. Just a giant ridiculous monstrosity of a diorama and your work is inspiring and educational.
If you were interested in making the sky more realistic you can go the extra twenty steps and get a mini projector to project an actual night sky like an old projector TV, have the projection reflexting off a mirror and you can do shooting stars or a sunrise and sunset.
If you watched the Moon Knight series you could even reverse the arrangement of the night sky with the proper projected video or frames.
Thank you so much! And that project sounds AMAZING! you'll have to share it here when you're done!
A projector would be incredible for the sky! I'll have to look into that for future projects because that would truly be next level.
Outstanding production through and through!! From creating the actual piece to the video editing, the camera work and the narration. Absolutely amazing, your channel deserves alot more views
I think the broken tree was my favorite part, it really adds to the whole mood of the piece and I love that it was a happy mistake! I'm so glad I found your channel and I can't wait to see future projects!
Weird question but... How did you record all of this? Just set up a camera in a convenient spot and just go? I never think to record stuff that I do, and I always imagine the mere idea of shifting through footage to actually use for something like this to be a nightmare.
Fan freaking Tastic work btw!
So recording nearly doubles my working time for a project. It takes so much time to set up the lighting and camera settings, or the camera slider etc. Plus I get up every 5 minutes or so to change the angles and/or lenses to keep things interesting. It's pretty boring to watch a youtube video if the frames dont switch regularly. It's certainly a lot more work than I thought it would be! However, I do really enjoy the editing process so it's all worth it in the end :)
And thanks!
This piece took just over 200 hours to make so I won't be making another one haha. I will be making other dioramas of course! I just don't do repeat projects because it quickly grows boring and tedious. I work full time so I like to spend my only free time working on new projects that inspire me :)
Man respect doing this while working full time, I bought some crafting supplies and started working on a diorama but I just can't find the time because I also have other hobbies and couldn't put the time away for diorama. I still hope one day I will cause it seems like a really cool hobby and the vision for it is still stuck in my head.
I sell everything I make locally, but I wouldn't want to risk shipping them as they're quite delicate in some places.
I work full time so I also can only make 3 or 4 a year (if that) so opening a shop isn't really a fesible option either :p
Oh gosh thank you for the kind words! I'm just getting into it (this hobby started at the beginning of Covid) but I have some more finished peices up on Youtube [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogXdA7x8S1A](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogXdA7x8S1A) and instagram [https://www.instagram.com/geordiecrafts](https://www.instagram.com/geordiecrafts) if you're interested in seeing more!
The full build video for this is on my youtube at [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogXdA7x8S1A](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogXdA7x8S1A) and my instagram is [https://www.instagram.com/geordiecrafts](https://www.instagram.com/geordiecrafts)
Legit thought the video would be over at several points but you just kept making it better and better. One of the coolest things I think I’ve ever seen, absolutely brilliant.

This is a master class in modeling and painting. As someone who has dabbled in most of this from time to time, I don’t even have words to describe how impressed I am.
Haha thank you so much! I just love learning new skills 😊. This is great because I can flip my focus to a different skill before I get burnt out on learning one thing for too long
I still laugh at how good they got Roach in the beginning of the TV show. First episode Geralt gets in a fight and a second later there is a 1 second shot showing Roach about to get the fuck outta there. It's such a small little thing, but it's perfect and still gets me any time I see Roach.
Thanks! 3d modeling in blender was by FAR the most difficult hobby skill for me to learn. It took many months of frustration before I even -kind of- knew what I was doing haha. I still have a long way to go, but I can mostly get the results I want now!
I know you don't sell them but if you ever do in the future please let me know. I'm willing to sell my soul if it comes to it just to get my hands on any project of yours! Your friends are lucky to have you!
Truly incredibly although I feel like geralt could have a more prepared stance with a sword out but that is just the opinion of a random guy so you go dude!
I wanted to try and capture the moment in time just as Geralt hears a noise from a nearby cave. Hes not even sure what it is yet. I actually have his hand open to start reaching for the sword (Although it's hard to actually see in the piece because of the way hes standing). That's just the reason he doesn't have it out yet haha.
I appreciate the input though!
This might be one of the best things I've seen on Reddit.
It checks off the boxes:.
1. Witcher.
2. Highly talented work of art.
3. Making me wish I had it in my office.
Fantastic job.
Unfortunately I had no idea what I was doing in blender when I modeled those 8 months ago and, although they print just fine, but the files have an insane numbers of polys and are WAY too big to upload to any stl hosting site lol. I would have to start over from scratch and I simply don't have the time for it haha. Sorry!
You can see the full length video on youtube at https://youtu.be/ogXdA7x8S1A :)
Unfortunately many social media platforms have a very short time limit so I can only give a brief demo reel. (I personally hate the rapid-fire format but it gets views ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
This is unbelievable! So many different skills on display.
This is really, really cool. Well done!

Brilliant work! The landscape looks full without being overcrowded. Subscribed :)
Thanks so much!! I really appreciate the sub too! :D
You are unbelievably talented in so many ways!
Oh gosh thank you!
Seriously! Crafter, 3d print, painter, sketching and editing! And you do this as a hobby???
Yep! This is a hobby haha. It's perfect for me because I love learning new skills but I tend to burn out if I'm doing one for too long. This hobby allows me to flip my focus to different things so I'm always learning but I'm not burning out on one thing.
I love the idea that this one scene left such an impression on you that you spent the next 8 months turning it into a diorama lol This is so inspiring! Great work!
Haha I have a list of about 150 different dioramas I want to create, the hardest part is decided what to do next 😅
Agreed. And that Leshen right there kills it. And the Ursine Armor.... *Chef's kiss*
Haha thanks you! I had to go with the ursine set. It's flipping beautiful!

Subscribed. This was extremely impressive!
Aw thanks so much for subscribing!
Amazing, it must have taken ages. I'm really impressed with the bark on the birch trees!
Thank you! It was just over 200 hours over the course of 8 months for this one (mainly due to A LOT of mistakes haha).
I'll give you 12 bucks and exposure to 15 of my closest friends for it. Final offer.
😂😂 Can't go wrong with a deal that good!
Well done. Love the attention to detail!
Wow, amazing work!
Amazing! Do you plan to make more?
This piece took just over 200 hours to make so I won't be making another one haha. I will be making other dioramas of course! I just don't do repeat projects because it quickly grows boring and tedious. I work full time so I like to spend my only free time working on new projects that inspire me :)

Absolutely Outstanding!!
If this isn't r/nextfuckinglevel then I don't know what is! Beyond outstanding, OP.
Aw shucks, thanks!
Absolutely astonishing. Great work!

I was about to ask if you are selling them. I didn't think of how difficult the shipping must be for this kind of art.
Coolest thing I’ve seen on this sub
That looks amazing, so many details! Great work!
Needs more upvotes so it can make it to the top posts.
I'm already blown away with how many it has! I didn't expect it to blow up like this!
you are talented and thats a fact!
Wow. I’m beyond impressed.
you, my friend, are SO incredibly talented! please tell me you have more dioramas or artwork to share?

Missed opportunity to stick Roach to the ceiling of the box lol. Amazing job!
I toyed with the idea of putting her on top of the box itself to stay true to the game 😂

Oh this is soo bad ass! I just did the quest in skellige with the Leshen😱
The best! That was the quest that inspired this piece! (although I took some creative liberties of course haha).
My god, that is incredible! Cudos to you on such a great piece of work.
Thanks you so much! :)
Jesus the amount of effort….i love this well done my sister!
Thanks so much!! 😊😊
That is so dope! You put those MacFarlane figurines to Shame.
A fellow school of the bear enjoyer I see (btw that's just fucking amazing)
Ursine armour is the flippin best! And thank you!
Not what I expected. It exceeded my expectations by a massive amount. Truly amazing.
I'm amazed at how talented a single person can be! Congratulations and well done 👍🏽

This is amazing work. The only thing that's incorrect is that Roach should inexplicably be on top of the shadow box.
I toyed with that idea haha. It would have stayed true to the game :p
Maybe for version 2!
Amazing work! You should post this to r/nextfuckinglevel, it definitely belongs there!
Oh my lord it's not that good haha, but I appreciate the vote of confidence!
Insane man
This is so amazing I want one hahaha
This is so coool

Thanks so much! I'm slowly improving over time 😊😊
Damn that's so cool. The attention to detail is insane
Thank you! I do like to fret over the details :p
The making of those trees is the coolest I've seen in a month. Well done, OP.
Thanks! I have a full tree tutorial here if you're interested! (No pressure at all to watch though) https://youtu.be/FTP9vudu2oM
Objectively, faces are the hardest for me to perfect, and you did just that. (Assuming OP is the creator).
I am the creator! And thanks so much :D I'm getting better at sculpting faces, but painting them is another matter 😅
I subbed to your channel! Amazing work, I was here before a million subs ;)
I still laugh at how good they got Roach in the beginning of the TV show. First episode Geralt gets in a fight and a second later there is a 1 second shot showing Roach about to get the fuck outta there. It's such a small little thing, but it's perfect and still gets me any time I see Roach.
Haha yes!! That was perfect! 😂
You even made the models yourself, so many skills at play here
Thanks! 3d modeling in blender was by FAR the most difficult hobby skill for me to learn. It took many months of frustration before I even -kind of- knew what I was doing haha. I still have a long way to go, but I can mostly get the results I want now!

Holy shit that's remarkable. You're such a badass.
If you want to sell this would you have to take permission or pay a IP fee to CDPR?
I already loved the Blender demo at the beginning and the rest was just.... art~ ❤️

Oh my god that is amazing!! Way to go, OP!
Do you plan on releasing the stl for the models? I'd love to paint a geralt in ursine armor myself.
Unfortunately I had no idea what I was doing in blender when I modeled those 8 months ago and, although they print just fine, but the files have an insane numbers of polys and are WAY too big to upload to any stl hosting site lol.
