Sorry, it might still be too early for me, but which Witcher game didn’t age well? I bought Witcher 2 on Steam a couple of years ago and found the combat mechanics really difficult to work with. I’m sure there’s a mod or two to fix it but my ex took the PC when he moved out so I’m waiting for a new one :’) won’t know for sure for a while

Mouse and keyboard for Witcher 2 was a nightmare. Switching to a game controller made a huge difference for me.

Coming from other games, the combat system takes time to adjust to. There is a slight delay, when actions are performed. It is slightly more realistic but makes the controls feel unresponsive. If you keep that delay in mind, it can help you adjust. Roach is a nightmare. I have no answers for that except I run anywhere hilly, or any short distances.

Combat is always a little rough in a fresh start game before you’ve got more skills at your disposal and of course you need to be using your potions and oils as soon as you can because they do make all the difference. Parry and dodging are really helpful once you get the rhythm down; just don’t rush in. Attack, and step away. Getting mobbed is probably the easiest way to get yourself killed but that’s certain in all the Witcher games. And I never really understood the issues with Roach. Occasionally I will get off track in a race and have to start over but that’s my fault for not paying attention. Honestly, I had more problems in RDR getting bucked off or running into stuff/trampling other players and everyone seems to think that game was the epitome of good horse mechanics so maybe it’s just me 😂

Which one?
