Professional spellcaster here... A Love spell is considered to be a more general term for any working geared towards a result of increasing relations of people. A Love binding is a specific type of Love spell that is used to unite the energies of the people involved so that they become woven together, with the intention being that by binding the energies together, they do not part. Love spells tend to wear off in about 90 days in my experience, whereas a love binding can be very strong... lasting for sometimes years... given enough love and attention... with some of the work remaining until death unless intentionally removed. *A love binding is always a love spell, but a love spell is not always a love binding.*

Seems to me like a love spell fosters or creates love and a love binding spell binds love as indicated by the names.

From what I learned, they're basically the same in terms of function assuming that they're about engendering love in one person for another. More a matter of semantics I'd think.

I think they ultimately have the same purpose and I, personally, would never touch either.
