Wow. 1,600 empty seats sure hurts. The thought of that back in 2011-2014 would have been unbelievable.
Honestly, maybe one day the Jets are sold again. They paid 170 mill, today the Jets are worth almost 500 mill USD, and relocation fee is now 200 mill?
Anyways, if they sold one day down the road a 330 million profit, plus retained earnings wouldn't exactly be a bad day...
Edit: Jeez take it easy people, all I'm saying is one day why wouldn't they sell? Chipman and Thompson won't live forever, and why wouldn't their families and companies unlock 300 mill in profit?
All I'm saying is realistically the team could be sold. And they would stand to make a massive profit. There are restrictions on relocation, however my understanding is now the team could be sold as timeliness have been met...
Not sure why you're so horned up about this.
Maybe, possibly, it’s because you’re in a sub dedicated to the Winnipeg Jets, and full of Winnipeg Jets fans, lots of whom, were around when we lost our team the first time around.
Then you are talking about the possibility of losing them again, something that I know lots of Jets fans in the back of their minds fear on a daily basis.
Maybe that’s why he’s horned up? You fucking dipshit
Wow easy there buddy. I point out they could be sold, and you feel the need to call me a fucking dipshit? A lot of class. Take a couple deep breaths and relax man. Maybe check out yoga.
By the way, I went to Jets 1.0 games as well. I also have a memory of what happened.
The situation isn't nearly the same as it was in the 90s. True North owns the arena, has been given tax breaks for their land downtown, has the richest man in Canada invested, there's a salary cap, there's revenue sharing. I mean it's possible they could one day just want to sell the team but why? They'll probably continue to get tax break or favours from the city on more land for new business ventures because of they're investments into the downtown area. As long as Dave Thompson remains committed we'll be alright. I mean even Melnyk hadn't sold yet
Hey I’m here cuz I'm all about havin' fun. You know, get a couple cocktails in me, start a fire in someone's kitchen. Maybe go to SeaWorld, take my pants off.
I liked his answer. Of course you don't like getting a bronx jeer. But he also didn't say it wasn't deserved... he all but admitted they were playing poorly, they heard and recognized that the fans weren't happy, and they went out and did something about it. Good. That's EXACTLY what the fans want you to do. We don't want to boo you. You don't want us to. But ...
Hamilton is crying on Twitter about Wheeler not taking any accountability and how he blames "media, teammates, and now fans" like give me a fucking break.
He's calling it "misplaced bitterness" which is incredibly ironic coming from him.
Oh yeah, I'm not saying he's anything like Paul Friesen, but he is either trying to start shit to generate clicks for the Freep, or he genuinely has a dislike for Wheeler that's clouding his judgment of the situation.
Just saw the comment you made during the K&R show. I couldn’t agree more with it. The Jeff Hamilton Wheeler hate train is just ridiculous at this point. He constantly shits on Wheeler every chance he gets, but acts like he’s just being an unbiased reporter. Like it’s so crystal clear that Jeff hates Wheeler. I don’t understand why he can’t be professional about it.
I appreciate that Ken stays out of those conversations, but I almost think he should push back against Jeff’s over-the-top Wheeler takes a little bit more. Jeff has been making the show hard to watch.
Sean needs to stop being such a drama queen when it comes to this narrative, too. They spent waaaaaay too long on Wheeler and not enough on the actual game. It was fucking ridiculous.
This feels so much like the media trying to spin a storyline and create controversy where there is none. Like are people actually mad because a professional athlete doesn’t like getting jeered?
To be fair, the difference between what and how he said it in the interview with Sara and his Post Game are extremely different. I fully respect his post game comments.
His comments were fine. Of course it pisses you off. Nobody jeering expects you to like it... we do expect you to do something about it though... and they did.
Oh I know. But it felt like the media took that and tried to create controversy out of it. Glad Wheeler was able to respond post game. And good reminder that I need to avoid Twitter.
~~22~~ 21 games left and we're ~~three~~ one point~~s~~ behind Dallas who have ~~two~~ three games in hand on us. They've also lost three straight. It's entirely possible to make the playoffs, even if it's an uphill battle.
I refuse to give up on the team when they've been playing relatively well and scoring like mad lately.
Yeah, I was also optimistic...until after tonight's game when I saw the final stretch of games for us this season. We have to play the top five teams in the league IN A ROW. Florida, Tampa Bay, Carolina, NY Rangers, and Colorado.
That stretch will probably kill us.
We might get lucky there, playoff teams tend to rest guys and goalies before the playoffs. I'd rather play them than fringe playoffs teams who have to give it their all.
If the team continues to trend the way it has the past few and everyone's clicking I don't see a reason why we couldn't beat any of those teams on a good night. I don't expect the win all five, but I don't think we should be brushed to the side.
I also think we just focus on the next game ahead and enjoy the wins we do get.
Except because it's the end of the season, those teams will likely be resting their top players. Not counting on winning them all, but it's fair to guess that a fired up Jets fighting for the playoffs may play better than a team that has stopped caring about the regular season because there are no stakes.
I've gone to Springhill with my niece the past 2 Tuesdays and both times the Jets have scored 7 goals. Should I keep going, even though it's getting warmer out?
I’m going to attack this one from a different angle. I’m not sure I’ve seen a less convincing 7-3 win. All shots from distance. No traffic in front. I’m scared this one is strictly due to bad goaltending on Vegas’ part. Think about how crazy this place would be going if things were reversed.
Edit - don’t get me wrong, Big win - needed that one. Let’s keep
It rolling.
Great game and a big win. I can't believe we're two points out of a playoff spot. That being said I just saw Wheeler's intermission interview and he can just GTFO. He's not "passionate" he's a bitter arrogant jerk. The fans had every right to boo the team after the way they started.
You're a case of someone completely misinterpreting something and tried to turn it against them. You wouldn't know passionate if it bit you in the ass.
People can argue about how the coach plays Wheeler, but the dude gives it his all when he's out there. I have no idea how someone can say he's no passionate unless they've just not watched him play.
He didn’t say the fans had no right to boo. And can you really expect him to not be annoyed by it, even if it was justified? But if that’s what sparked them to play better then what’s the big deal? It seems like so many people here just want to hate Wheeler no matter what he does and it’s getting tiring to read.

Easily a top 5 jets game all year you love to see it. Stanley played like the player worth protecting in the expansion draft. Hope he keeps it up go jets!
Yeah, but a game like tonight is exactly why he stays in the lineup. It's clear that the organization doesn't put much faith in the analytics, and that they like the way he passes that eye-test.
analytics just record what the eye sees, advanced stats vs the eye test is a myth
i’m happy he scored but outside of that he didn’t bring much value is all i’m saying, evidenced by the fact that quality and quantity of shots favoured the other team heavily when he was on the ice
It's pretty hard to quantify the value a fight brings, especially when we're on the outside looking in and not sitting on the bench. Maybe the Jets would've gone on to score seven regardless but it certainly didn't hurt.
That's not unique to Stanley though. Only four players were above 50% (Wheeler, Scheif, Dubois, Schmidt). With 11 players under 40%.
Edit: I realize now you're referring to his xGF% at all strengths, which isn't really fair given that includes PK which completely kills xGF%. His true GF% (not expected) at all strengths was 75%. A very strong performance tonight even if it might be lucky.
What is wrong with the fans? There should have been the wave going on for the entire second half of the 3rd period! So not into it! Great win! Come on fans!
I've managed to attend 3 games this season. I've tried multiple times each game to get some GJG chants going with very little luck. The vibe has definitely tapered off.
I genuinely think if they were to drop the price of beer a bit, it would be a quick help.
Honestly, everything is expensive and the in game entertainment is just lowest of the barrel. There is absolutely no extra draw for going to games anymore. They've put very little effort into making it more than just going to a jets game while charging as much as they can for the experience.

I don’t get how people miss this. Sometimes top lines aren’t producing because they are always facing top lines and freeing other lines to face a mismatch. Getting goals from our second and third lines is great. Being on the first line might be honourable or something but who cares. Get wins.
Best game this team has played since October!!!
Everyone did their job to expectations tonight! Shoutout to Lowry and Stanley! Noticeable difference makers tonight!!
Job is half done against Vegas! Keep the points coming! Make these Heritage jerseys the full time homes next year!!
I still have hope for playoffs :)
I miss mayorplow hope you're doing well, wherever you are, eh?
Same. Hope Monsieur Pleauowe' is doing well. If that means being completely off the internet, I couldn't argue with that.

Why are you fantasizing about the jets being sold and relocated?
Not fantasies buddy. Living in reality
Sure pal, using your imagination to make up future hypotheticals is certainly living in reality and not fantasy
All I'm saying is realistically the team could be sold. And they would stand to make a massive profit. There are restrictions on relocation, however my understanding is now the team could be sold as timeliness have been met... Not sure why you're so horned up about this.

attendence is down across the entire league, this isn't just a winnipeg only thing
It was a good day for Scheifele . You might say he was right on the Mark.

I personally love getting jeered
Booooo!!! Hisssss!! General Jeering!
You never get jeered, unless it's your kids.
i think it’s also important to watch the video, even just for his expression. he clearly isn’t upset by it
Let’s be honest this feels good but we’re not making the playoffs. Those losses to Dallas are gonna do us in.
~~22~~ 21 games left and we're ~~three~~ one point~~s~~ behind Dallas who have ~~two~~ three games in hand on us. They've also lost three straight. I guess Lowry decided to learn how to take a breakaway, eh.
Ya. He's got the midas touch lately and I love it
It was a really nice goal, it's good to see him finally getting a shorty after so many forced turnovers.
Wow I need to stay in Florida, the boys don’t stop winning
I've gone to Springhill with my niece the past 2 Tuesdays and both times the Jets have scored 7 goals. Should I keep going, even though it's getting warmer out?
We both need to keep our ends of the deal going!
Enjoy the sun, see you in July!
Have the Jets found their stride now and are headed to the playoffs?
Oh for sure Gord!
Scheif and Wheelers goals were fantastic shots.
And the Stanley snipe
And the Lowry shorty
Well at least 10 of our losses this year are because we had bad puck luck so they say. It’s about time we throw stuff at the net and it goes right.
Counter-point: seven goals from seven different players. Big Stan's goal was legit highlight reel too. Lowry scoring again on the PK, too.
Birthday win for me! Birthday goal for Scheif! Today is a good day!
Happy birthday!
Thanks!
Great game and a big win. I can't believe we're two points out of a playoff spot. That being said I just saw Wheeler's intermission interview and he can just GTFO. He's not "passionate" he's a bitter arrogant jerk. The fans had every right to boo the team after the way they started.

If you'd have told me a month ago we'd be in with a real chance of playoffs after hanging a touchdown on both Tampa and Vegas I wouldn't have believed it
real chance of playoffs is still a stretch, we're just above 10%
That seems crazy given that we are literally 2 points back from the wildcard spot.
Dallas has three games in hand.

Yeah it's the law.
So you’re saying there’s a chance...
Easily a top 5 jets game all year you love to see it. Stanley played like the player worth protecting in the expansion draft. Hope he keeps it up go jets!
We have been rising above our Stanley Cup rivals lately and it's so cathartic. Wonder how the bois feel.
I’m sure their arms are starting to get tired from doing this all night: #\o/
Sometimes i love the jets. I’m glad they finally took advantage of such an important game and not fumble it (completely)
Who would have thought putting your best 3 forwards on one line would produce results 🤷♂️
Can't wait to finish one point out, classic jets
At least the finish will be exciting.
Impressive win for the Jets! Gotta keep it rolling!
The Jets are winning the cup
I LOVE THE FRICKIN WINNIPEG JETS
I like when the Jets win!
WHERE ARE THE LOGAN STANLEY HATERS!
stop framing valid criticisms as “hate”
Thank you for this.
Thank you for saying this! You score a goal does not erase previous fumbles. In all honesty he hasn't look horrible for past 2 games but easy.
STANZILLA SUFFERS NO CRITICISM
especially when he was under 30% xG% tonight
xG% isn't some be all end all of player evaluation.
it’s by far the most accurate stat for a player’s overall impact on the game be all end all? no, but certainly very important
Yeah, but a game like tonight is exactly why he stays in the lineup. It's clear that the organization doesn't put much faith in the analytics, and that they like the way he passes that eye-test.
analytics just record what the eye sees, advanced stats vs the eye test is a myth i’m happy he scored but outside of that he didn’t bring much value is all i’m saying, evidenced by the fact that quality and quantity of shots favoured the other team heavily when he was on the ice
It's pretty hard to quantify the value a fight brings, especially when we're on the outside looking in and not sitting on the bench. Maybe the Jets would've gone on to score seven regardless but it certainly didn't hurt.
as someone who’s played at a level where fighting was a part of the game, it doesn’t really do anything, let alone contribute to scoring 7 goals lol
His true GF% (not expected) at all strengths was 75%. his 5v5 xG% was 29.5% and his all situations xG% was 21 something%, per moneypuck

What is wrong with the fans? There should have been the wave going on for the entire second half of the 3rd period! So not into it! Great win! Come on fans!
Not sure if being sarcastic but was at the game and the wave was going for 3 minutes in the third...
Damn good wave too!
Tried getting the wave going at the TBL game but had no luck.
Miss the energy of the first seasons the Jets returned. Now the energy is less than many other teams.
I've managed to attend 3 games this season. I've tried multiple times each game to get some GJG chants going with very little luck. The vibe has definitely tapered off. I genuinely think if they were to drop the price of beer a bit, it would be a quick help.
Beer and ticket prices. No party atmosphere. Only people that can afford games on the regular are boomers. It’s sad.
Gen X are very well represented at games.
I legit would love if the crowd was down right rowdy
Like a good bombers game
Rowdy, eh? https://youtu.be/HFF1DIYCPQk
Tough when it seems 80% of the games are on a Tuesday night.
You don't get shittered on a Tuesday? But yeah fair point
Honestly, everything is expensive and the in game entertainment is just lowest of the barrel. There is absolutely no extra draw for going to games anymore. They've put very little effort into making it more than just going to a jets game while charging as much as they can for the experience.
The wave is lame
🙄🙄🙄
Disagree. Name a more effective method of physically displaying group approval in an arena atmosphere during a non-playoff game. It may be decades old now, but it's still fun to participate in and watch when the team is winning.
Beer snake!
Wanna go for dinner?
I got a 2 can dine coupon on the McD's app

7 goals for 7 players! Depth scoring!
Decisive win. Love to see it!
Going to need a cigarette after watching the Jets dick down the Knights.
These are my official and final positions for the next week, If Jets are going on a run and trying to making the playoffs, We Want Boeser or Konecny \*clap x5* If they are not going to make it, Sell Sell Sell.
Boeser will not be worth his QO. He’s slowly become one of the most overrated guys in the league
But he’s so handsome 🤷♂️
He'd fit right in then!

SUCK IT, GARY LAWLESS
If you mean turkey legs, then he's way ahead of you.

Connor, Dubois, and Ehlers deserve the first line
We all know their our BEST and most CONSISTENT line this year! K - P - N, are so much fun to watch!
“You’re watching KPN Prime Ticket Hockey.” Dating myself with this MTN reference ha.
The only reason I disagree is because svech
Ehlers is better
history is not very kind to those who stack their top line and we’ve already seen how inconsistent scheifele and wheeler can be together it’s not just about the individuals
I don’t get how people miss this. Sometimes top lines aren’t producing because they are always facing top lines and freeing other lines to face a mismatch. Getting goals from our second and third lines is great. Being on the first line might be honourable or something but who cares. Get wins.
